All Win XP Professional facilities have a built-in "Administrator" user account. By default, the built-in "Administrator" account has no password - so if the logon screen asks for a password, leave the field blank password.
However, the built-in "Administrator" account is designed for troubleshooting - and not for normal daily use. Therefore, the first owner of the computer could have created one or more accounts ordinary user (with or without administrator privileges). The built-in "Administrator" account usually disappears from view, as soon as there are all the other user accounts on the computer.
I don't know if your problem is with the default "Administrator" account - or if it affects a different user account (which may have administrator privileges).
If the default "Administrator" account is hidden from the normal login screen, press Ctrl + Alt + Delete two times. Then type 'Administrator' in the account name field and leave the password empty field. Alternatively, you can try to start safe mode. The start screen will probably prompt allows you to select a user account. Select the account named "Administrator" and leave the password empty field.
I hope that you will be able to boot into the built-in Administrator account. If so, open Control Panel, and then double-click user accounts. Select the account you want to use on a daily basis - and remove or change the password.

I have one more problem.
I tried to defrag my computer, and I can't do it either. I get a grey screen and if I click on anylise or defragment, it does nothing, no error message or anything else. Tried to manually defragment Traore does not work, tried to load a defrag on the web program, wouldn't let me load it.

Also let me tell you right now, I'm not an expert on how to do things on the computer, so I'm scitish when it receives or sounds complicated. I don't want to lose my entire system because of these unfortenate none of the work programmes.Hello shessy49, welcome.
I would recommend that we run a SFC (System File Checker) first scan to see what he finds. Try this:
1. click on START
2 type "msconfig" (without the quotes) and press enter
3. go to the "Startup" tab and uncheck all the entries displayed
4. click on 'Apply' at the bottom right
5 restart your computer---
After the reboot
---1. click on START
2. Type "cmd" (without the quotes). Right-click on the result at the top of the menu START and select 'run as administrator '.
3. type "sfc/scannow" (without the quotes) and press enterIf the question started very recently, you can try a system restore:
1. click on START
2. click on "all programs".
3. click on "Accessories".
4. click on "system tools."
5. click on "system restore."6 follow the prompts shown to restore your system to a date before the problem started. Although the system restore does not target the personal data, it is recommended that you back up all data such as music, photos and documents in case something is not bad.

OK, excuse me if I'm a little ROUGH, because there is a persistent problem since BEFORE the 8.1 update.
I can not connect to the Windows store at all.
Whenever I click on Store Windows, it says
"We could not connect to the Bank. This could have happened due to a server problem or network connection has expired. Please wait a few minutes and try again. »
No amount of clicking "don't retry" does nothing.
Associates, if I click on "connect to a Microsoft account" and click on "Switch to a Microsoft account" I enter my local password, enter my e-mail address, click on 'next', it goes to a screen that says "sorry, we could not connect to the Microsoft services right now. If the problem persists, look for 'referee '.
OK, so here's the deal. I DON'T HAVE ANY F * CKING REFEREE. I WENT TO EVERY F * CKING HELP PAGE FROM MICROSOFT TO FIX THIS PROBLEM WITHOUT SUCCESS. I TRIED ALL OF THE SUGGESTIONS I FOUND FROM 3RD PARTY SITES.
Also, I have a laptop that I use on the same home LAN that is not one of these problems and connects very well with the store and my Microsoft Account.
This problem is started, after a regular update Tuesday Microsoft got. The only SOLUTION seems to be to refresh my OS, which will eliminate software installations that will take me several DAYS to re - install.
Note that, with the exception of problems with connection to the store and my Microsoft Account (and update to Windows 8.1) the computer works fine. So I really want to rub the complete set of software I installed in the area by a refresh.
As near as I can tell there is something very SIMPLE that I have F * CKED UP in the OS that prevents access to the store and my Microsoft Account. There should be a SIMPLE FIX for THIS. But I have not yet found. I asked BEFORE on the community forums and got NO SATISFACTORY RESPONSE.
What you say Microsoft? Is your only solution destroy my existing work of the software game and spend several days recreate?
When I bought Windows 8, I downloaded an ISO. I think you can still get an ISO from Microsoft if you ask him nicely.
I am lucky to have a Windows 8 DVD, so I have no problem, but try this solution to get the ISO standard

Can not update Windows, have executed Mr. Fix It several times?
He cannot get updates from Microsoft. Have executed Mr. Fix It several times, the two download & online. Have also used the system restore. Have more desktop, Dell Dimension 3000 with XP Pro.
Hi Dippity,
In C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution, find and delete the content (but not the folders themselves) recordsONLY the following two: downloads and the data store.
And what CAN help solve the problem if it is caused by an update incomplete or stuck - but it is not guaranteed to solve the problem of update because at this point we really don't know the cause. It is a cause, and there are others that this procedure allows to solve.
If this does not work, try this: click Start > run > paste the following command into the Run dialog box, and then press ENTER. Wait for the success message.
% SYSTEMROOT%\SYSTEM32\REGSVR32. EXE, % SYSTEMROOT%\SYSTEM32\WUAUENG. DLL
If the above does not help, then I recommend the following in order of presentation:
Try to reset components WU:
How to reset the Windows Update components?Try the system update readiness tool:
Description of the preparation tool system update for Windows Vista for Windows Server 2008, for Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2Try the Fix WU Utility:

I hope this helps.

Help! Can not update Windows 7.

I must have spent all day trying to get MS. updates I even changed the DNS to 8.8.4.4 because I heard that there may be problems with the Time Warner network connection.
I came to a point where I don't know what else to do...
I've never had this problem before.
Help.
Thank you.
Microsoft made a big mess of Windows Update! Obviously, Windows 7 owners receive a low priority. This happened 6 months now. WU can take many hours. In most cases, PATIENCE is the best tool. A lot of people stop at Midway WU after a few hours, assuming it is broken. Then take all kinds of measures to try to "fix". In most cases, it is not broken. In many cases the 'fixing' problems that didn't have to be there.
In addition to this, as you can read about it in the statutes of Woody Leonhard, Microsoft has been releasing a lot of bad updates that are not tested and cause countless problems.
The advice I give to my clients is to assign WU to NEVER, run it manually once per month and hide any update is optional, or unqualified security. More simply, only install the security updates.
Microsoft has not released an update to Windows 7, which was not helpful to Win7 overall of 2015. I don't expect everything. All security updates are not or are optional are tools to help Microsoft to turn your computer into what she wants it to be and help them spy on how you use your computer.
