  Hi all

  I just got my laptop back from the service center, and not surprisingly, they've pushed a device that existed!

  I had my laptop (M30 1.7 GHz special edition) for the centre of repair for a defect and they informed me that the motherboard had to be replaced. I got the laptop back a couple of days and I immediately noticed the laptop is overheating, fan has not turned too often that he was setting the profile to "Full Power".

  After hours of investigation, I noticed that a few options that existed in the Toshiba Power Saver no longer exists. So, in my opinion, that my laptop is running as optimized battery even if it is set to full power.

  As I said, the fan is not put on too often, leading to the laptop is overheating. Then the fan used to be almost constantly on full power before the replacement of the motherboard.

  Here's how the energy saver used to look like 'before' to take the laptop to the repair center:

  Note how I'm now lack the "CPU control method" option, and I cannot adjust the speed of treatment to more than level 3!

  Cooling method does not appear the maximum performance for me either, because of the symptoms I mentioned above.

  Any idea on why that might happen? Please note that I used the recovery CD system and everything back to factory settings, still no luck. I'm sick and tired of going back to their ugly repair center. If someone can point out the problem, I'll be very grateful.

  P.S. I use version 7 of the energy saver, verion BIOS 1.4 (original)

  AFAIK Equium M70 already use hard drives with Serial ATA interface. This means that you must buy a 2.5 HARD drive with this interface.
  For example, a 120 GB model should work!

  If I were you, I am looking for a technician because it s not so easy to exchange these parts around the LCD. The problem is that the stuff is very well suited and you don t know where all the screws might be.
  Just a suggestion: Don t do it on yourself, prefer to give someone who is familiar with laptops and has some experience with the dismantling of these mobile systems of the machine.
  But if you are really sure that do you it on your own, then just google for your machine, because there are several forums where users are showing the dismantling of their machine so that other users can easily do the same.   My system starts ok DVD of Windows 7, then the files installation done and then goes to the windows 7 screen installation and CRASHES completely.

  What ____! I have updated the BIOS to try to solve the problem, but of course, no go.

  Can someone tell me what to do _ because I'm NOT a novice by any means and I literally spent hours of my time trying to make a simple re-install.

  Finally solved... by ditching the ASUS Board. It's a piece of SH$ (%!  Put in a Gigabyte UD3LR card. The RAM has acknowledged and assign it is 1066 speed immediately. Still using the Commission. A sweet piece of kit.

  ASUS Aspire now in my opinion. I'll never buy a Board again and encourage others to avoid completely. How the once powerful ASUS fell.

  At the store, the guy had a vista 64 bit recovery disc so I have it home and tried to fix it. He said it will be a breeze and relatively bug free. As part of the Startup Repair, I tried to drive the Startup Repair, and tests were all successful except one. An error of diagnosis readings

  time taken = 720023 ms

  Everything I've done has led to a brief blue screen to the Windows loading screen and then it restarts itself.

  I'm sorry, but you have to completely reinstall the operating system after replacing the motherboard with a different motherboard.
