Can Satellite Pro L300-22N - I use a SATA hard drive?
Hi all!
My hard drive is broken. Now, I want to put a new one in it. I have a SATA hard drive, but I can put it in this laptop? Because the old one was an ATA (I guess)
Thank you very much!
Hello
I can confirm the info given by Liam.
The L300 supports the SATA interface and you use the SATA 2.5 HARD disk

Satellite Pro L300 - new partition after Exchange of HARD drive sizes
Under 'Vista' with a 120 GB hard drive and needs space.
Bought a 500 GB SATA drive. I'm afraid that the recovery software will set the new drive with a 50-50 Partition. This is the case or it will allocate 50 GB to E: / and the rest to C: /?
As the manual States that if I change the size of the partition the recovery software will not re - install in the future?
Hello
As I know the Toshiba Recovery disk always allocates 50% disk space for each partition. This means that the 500 GB drive you have two partitions with ~ 250 GB of disk space on each partition.
If not or you want to change something, you can use the Windows disk management tool:
http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB7101OB0006R01.htmI think the manual means that you can use t more the procedure for recovery of HARD disk if you change the size of the partition.
But with the Toshiba disk recovery you are on the safe side and so you can always restore the factory settings every time. :) -

Of course, you can install Win XP why you think that you can not install Win XP?
If the laptop is able to run Vista installation Win XP shouldn't be a problem.See European driver of Toshiba.
You can find some Win XP drivers tooPS: before install you Win XP, you must create the recovery disk!

Satellite Pro A100-001 - maximum capacity of a hard drive supported?
I tried looking for the Board of Directors and the Toshiba site, but have not yet found the answer. Please bear with me if the question has been answered elsewhere.
I bought an old A100 on eBay - it seems to work fine, but it has a 40 GB hard drive (not standard).
Enter the serial number on the Toshiba support site reveals the machine to be an A100-001.
I can implement it using a SATA drive.
Anyone know if I could go to a 320 GB drive, or if there is a limit to the capacity of hard disk supported in this model?
Hello
If that s SATA HARD drive controller then you should be able to use the 320 GB HARD drive and more
As much as I know the SATA controller has no limitations, and therefore, it should be possible to use these larger sizes of hard drives.Hope I could help you.

I see that there are not all drivers are in the 64-bit version, so I want to know if everything will work property with 64-bit Windows?
Thanks for the reply
Mario
Hey Buddy,
You re right. After the download European driver Toshiba for Windows 7 64-bit are not all drivers available. I checked the downloads for Vista 64-bit and all the drivers you need are available.
Drivers Vista and Windows 7 are similar, then you can try to use the 64 bit Vista drivers. Most Vista drivers work on Windows 7.
In addition if something does not work you can use other Satellite A300 drivers for example. This laptop supports Windows 7 64 bit and the drivers should be similar, in my opinion.
Good luck! :)

Satellite Pro 2100 jumps down and now demand HARD drive password
Hello world
I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro 2100. I have some problems when you access the Internet; When I start the Internet, there is no problem, but when MSN messenger start the laptop goes down and I have to turn off manually the laptop. This would be a kind of firewall?
Last Sunday, this problem occurred when using Skype; But now the computer has completely collapsed. The system first asked "inserting a disc system. I didn't know what they meant, so I turned off the computer a few times manually to see if it would disappear.
When I turn on the laptop, Windows will not start upward and the system asks a black screen "the password HARD drive". Does anyone know what this means and where I can find it? And means that my laptop is dead, or am I able to fix? Can someone help me?
Thanks in advance!

Hello
I know, it's the HARD drive password cannot be deleted.
If the HARD drive password has been activated and you don t know the password for the HARD drive, then you will not be able to use the HARD drive more. :( -

I don't understand how it can be unplugged?I use a 3com officeconnect wireless 11g PC Card which works fine until the hard drive failed.
Help, please... I am due to go to the hospital Monday and I wish I could take it with me.
Thank you
Hello
Sorry if I write this too late. :(
He's old enough for laptop and I don't know with certainty what is the card inside, but all notebooks with wireless network inside card have a small stick of Wi - Fi at the bottom with number of WLAN card. Using this number in Google, you can identify the card.
Anyway, there is not a lot of possibilities because on the Toshiba support page there are two WLAN drivers listed for your model of laptop. Try to install both of them. One of them must be good.
Good luck!

Satellite Pro L20 and an upgrade of the HARD drive
This laptop is any size 2.5 "hard drive? Dream of a disk of 7 200 > ~ 100 GB or greater. It has only a fairly slow 40 GB 5400 installed at present.
Also, what type is in these L20 PATA or SATA?Hello
I studied a bit and it seems that the laptop supports a HARD 40 GB, 60 GB, 80 GB and 100 GB disk size.
I advise to use disks hard speed 5400 RPM and no 7200 RPM due to the temperature of production
Additional cell phone supports a serial ATA (SATA) interface. The drives as:
MHV2100AH 100 GB
MHV2080AH 80 GB
MHV2060AH 60 GBData transfer is supported by the speed of 475 Mbit/s and a transfer rate of 100 MB/s (Mode Ultra DMA) interface
Hope that my small list of information will help you...

Dell Inspiron 14-3000 Series
I have this laptop. My question is why do you want to sell a computer with 32 GB drive hard when you know that the OS will seize 20 GB? How am I supposed to use this computer? I can't upgrade the HD and why I should buy an external drive for a laptop?
So, I'm totally confused.
Thank you
This isn't a real laptop - it is a glorified tablet/internet device. It is fine as a Windows to replace a chromebook, but forget not run anything challenging about it - it is designed for one purpose: be inexpensive.

Using the IDE &; SATA hard drives on the same system
My system: Vostro 400 desktop, Intel Core 2 Duo 2.3 GHz, Windows XP Home Edition.
Situation: I use a SATA hard drive and the DVD drive is SATA. I want to add an IDE hard drive (from my old computer) to this system. I can't find any IDE cable or even an IDE port on the motherboard to add an IDE cable for a hard drive.
Question: Is it possible to add an IDE hard drive to this computer and run hard IDE and SATA drives simultaneously?

Satellite Pro L300-1AQ only to charge the battery while the phone is in use
I have a Toshiba SP L300-1AQ.
In the last month we started having problems with it quit unexpectedly, even on power outlet.
This morning I used it for about a half hour. When I started the battery level was 39% full, so I plugged it into the outlet. The fire area on the front of the laptop came and taskbar in Windows icon showed it was plugged and load (battery light was orange). After half an hour, I checked the battery and it was down to 16%. I turned down the brightness of the screen to try to reduce energy consumption, but less than a minute at the level of the battery was down to 15%. The toolbar icon and power lights both still power showing tasks. The power adapter was cold to the touch. I expect that it is hot. It seems to me that the power adapter does not provide enough power to run the laptop and recharge the battery. If the laptop is in sleep mode, the battery may charge.
We need a new power adapter?
Thank you
Nigel
Hello
It's really hard to say what the reason is but first of all, I think its hardware problem and not software related.
Maybe the card mother doesn t charge battery problem more or the AC/DC adapter is defective. So can you test another adapter AC/DC to a friend for example? It would be interesting to know because if an AC/DC adapter works it seems to be a problem with the motherboard.I don t have Satellite Pro L300, I only Satellite L300 but it works really well and I can t notice a problem with the battery charging. It s all ok again :)
