  • Can someone explain to me what does the CHAPTER MODE?

All I can find in the manual is how to turn it on, but not why or what he does.

With the latest firmware, the chapter mode has a double function.

Originally, with .aa books sound, chapter Mode allows you to navigate between the chapters of the book charge.  The chapter number is displayed on the screen.

With all other audio books, chapter Mode allows you to jump between files labeled for the same book.  In normal mode, the skip function is disabled.  You can rewind or fast forward through the book file.  In chapter mode, a simple pressure moves to the next file, just like with music.

  • Can someone explain to me what is the problem with Illustrator CS5?

I can't, for the life of me, understand why this happens. If you look carefully at the images below, you will notice that the 'path' or a schema does not coincide with what is represented as a fill.

I can work on my forms on CS4 and everything works fine.

That seems to happen when I use pathfinder operations, or resize a set of shapes.

What is the problem with my Illustrator?

    Please help me.

    Hi Enrique.

It seems to me that the points can be aligned to the pixel grid when you develop. Hard to say without knowing the extent of your examples. I don't have it, but I think snap to grid of pixels has been added in CS5. Worth the drive. Or off uncheck.

  • Can someone explain these activities on my computer?

    Hello

Can someone explain these activities? 2 weeks ago I put my computer again on the apple store, because I had strange things on my computer (disabled USB ports, I could start my computer in safe mode only) as a zombie. Now I have again the strange activities:

I discovered, that this activity does not appear, when I create a new guest account and we who count for surfing the internet. Can someone explain to me what is happening on my computer?

Can someone explain to me what is happening on my computer?

There is nothing unusual is happening on your computer.

    All these processes are normal.

Messages in the Console are especially for developers to find bugs and improve performance. They almost never mean anything for a normal user.

  • Can someone explain what are installation OS (C :) and a WinRE (r), and what are their functions?)

Hi I do not know if I put in the correct title apologetic information if I don't.

Can someone explain what are installation OS (C :) and a WinRE (r), and what are their functions?)

I am not computer savvy and need help.

The first has a red bar almost at the end of the box, the latter has a blue bar around to halfway along the area. Hope I gave enough information that someone explain it to me. Thank you.

    caz59

    Original title: hard drives

The c: drive is where Windows is installed and is running from. The red bar indicates that the disk is full. You will need to do a cleaning to clean the computer and free urgent enough disk space. It may be more prudent to get some hands on assistance with this.

WinRE is synonymous with the Windows recovery environment and contains an image of the computer, such as provided by the manufacturer. There will be a procedure to cross, which depends on the manufacturer as to what it is. The blue bar indicates there is little space left on the drive though use it to store files may stop the recovery process of work.

  • Can someone explain why a 72 dpi, which went to print looked great?

Not sure if I should post this in Photoshop or InDesign forum.

I'm working on bringing a book in InDesign that will be printed at one of these free publishing houses. I did a lot in the past. Then my friend I do a lot of work with a book on his own that has a photo to grayscale to a bomber B-24 on the lid. The image was of 72 dpi and the dimensions of the image were 52,389 "X 35,722". In InDesign, the image has been resized to about 7 inches wide. The book is back and the cover photo was beautiful. What is confusing to me, this is why the cover photo looked not all pixelated because he was of 72 dpi. Is it something about the picture that he was so great that it is a dimension, and then it has been scaled down? Can someone explain this somehow?

Just a note: auto publication companies I beleave not print their books on an offset press. I think they use high range laser printers. But I could be wrong.

    Thank you

How the effective resolution has become something of the order of 538.56 ppi (52.389/7 x 72). What the actual resolution of the image scale changes in proportion reverses with the scale factor. It's exactly the same thing as changing the width of the 7-inch image in Photoshop without resampling. No pixels change, you change just the size you choose to print.

  • Can someone explain how to operate the .prel files?

Can someone explain how PREL files work?  My C drive is o/s and programs, my D drive is the storage and project files (the file .prel) are on my E drive.

How is this supposed to be more effective/more fast?  P.E. (drive C) must constantly communicate back and forth on disks with the .prel file and all files in subfolders?  It seems it would be slower.

As I said in a previous post; My zooms in/out of the timeline are VERY slow.  It's almost 1 second before the scenario becomes greater/smaller.  Any info would be great, thanks!

Using several HARD drives, is spreading the load of IO (input/output) on different HARD drives. The controller is faster than a single HARD disk, being responsible for read/write from/to multiple locations. One of the first laws of physics is that an object can be in several places at the same time. The heads on a HARD drive are no different. If for several readings are requested, the heads will be positioned on place on trays, read and then move to the following requested location and so on. However, with multiple HARD drives and a controller of good, fast, heads of each HARD disk will be placed, if necessary, so the readings are are at the same time on several sites.

For optimal performance, a good Setup would be as follows:

C:\ system operating system and programs (more reading here that writing)

D:\ Project (in this case PREL) files

E:\ RAID 0 Scratch disk for media Cache, but does not make the files (read and write)

F:\ RAID 0 media files (more reading, but also write)

G:\ RAID 0/share in export and rendering files

Some even separate the video Audio assets assets and use another RAID 0 foreach

The disadvantage of this configuration 'ultimate performance', is that when a project is completed, to clean, move of many HARD drives and locations. There may also be issues at the check in a project, because things are scattered.

I get "good performance" by having my project, Copies of my assets and all disks from Scratch on a HARD drive. What I give up in performance, I compensate with the household chores, when the project is completed. Still, I expanded my OS/programs of my projects, with physical HDD separate.

Good luck and we hope this helps,

    Hunt

PS - Above, I mentioned RAID 0, but still more speed can be obtained through many HARD drives in the table and perhaps a RAID 50. RAID 0 is only two physical HARD disks. Also, for the RAID, I recommend a card dedicated RAID controller and NO software or capacity RAID of the MoBo.

  • Can someone help me understand what represents the em measurement?

I have been broadcast in the em measurement (or is it en) and I can't find an explanation as to what this means. Can someone explain it to me with an example or two?

Murray * CPA * has written:

It is a metric of relative police.  1em means use the default size of the browser, while .5em means use the size of half of the default browser.  The default size is usually 16px, unless changed by some other CSS on the site.

    Hello

To add to Wharton, Murray wrote, the metric of relative police comes actually the letter size me '. This means that if you have a width of 20em, there will be 20 times the width of the letter'm ' in your font not selected browsers by default fonts, (that's the theory). Some older browsers can use the browsers default font, (NN4, I say old!) or even some current mobile browsers.

It is also possible, (in some modern browsers) to use in or ex for measurement, and these are based on the letter ' is, and 'x' respectively.

the use of AJAX examples with the on demand application process are very useful I think. The tirgger for the update is not an onblur/keypress/keyup event, but a kind of timer. Javascript tutorials you need to look if there is a kind of code that triggers the meantime ask at regular intervals. Time to turn the crank to the top of your javascript expertise ;)

  • can someone explain this code

Hello, when I look at this code, I do not understand a code, can someone explain this code?
    Thank you very much!!!

The creation of a 'method' for a vector object (in the old style of class definition), which gives it a method with an argument in degrees rotate.

It replaces the vector existing x and properties of y (in the part "with (this)" code) based on the angle that was passed.

I don't know if it gives correct results, because I don't check the math/trig, but it is the interpretation of what I see. What exactly do you want explained more in detail?
