Can't access bios on Y580 Windows 8

After the upgrade to windows 8, I can no longer access the bios. The lenovo screen appears at startup, but no startup option. And just to make sure, as someone who still has windows 7 please tell me which key allows you to participate? I tried everything, but I'm stumped.

Does not start with Passport attached to the USB port...  Said to eliminate "USB boot" from the BIOS.  How can I access BIOS?  The support fellow WD told me to push "F10" at the start, but it just sent me multiple choice starter.

Depends on the brand and model of your system. When the initial screen, you should see similar instructions to "Press F1 to enter setup". F1 is just one example. It might be F2 or DEL or any other key. You disable and then boot from a usb device. The problem should be solved.

  • Re: Satellite A500-1GL - Can t Access BIOS aftre updated

    Hello
    I have a laptop A500-1GL.
Yesterday, I checked that the drivers download page, just to check if there is something new. and I noticed that there was a new version of the BIOS.

    My old BIOS:
    SystemBiosVersion: 1.6
    SystemBiosDate: 05/06/10

    the Web site was:
    Version: 1.7
    Date: 29/07/10

So, I downloaded this file and flashed the BIOS... after the reboot, I checked the "regedit". and the version was changed to 1.7, but the date remains the same (05/06/10)!

Now, this isn't a big problem - I know, but I wanted to check the BIOS configuration (before the start).
So I restarted the laptop, you press "DEL"... nothing happened, went straight to Windows!
    I tried again, with F1, F2 ~ F12... anyway.
So, how can I access the BIOS Setup screen? I tried re-flashing the BIOS again, but he keep saying that I already have the new version, so I can't flash.

    any ideas?

It looks at, start fast, active in the Bios. Read this thread, the Andrusito guy explained how he has disabled it:

  • Can't access bios dv3500

I've updated my OS to Win 8.1 and while the operating system works very well - I can't access the BIOS during startup.  I made several tough stops and restarts and tried (F1, F2, F8, F12, DEL, and ESC) but I am unable to enter the bios.  Y at - it a workaround solution that will allow me to interrupt the boot to access the BIOS?

    Hello

Now try the SHIFT key when you click Shutdown to temporarily prevent a hybrid boot.  Then away to the ESC key as soon as you press the power button and see if it launches the Start Menu - if this is the case, select the Bios Menu (f10) from here.

  • How can I access files created on Windows 7, virtual pc, windows xp mode applications? __

I installed an application under virtual pc and I use the application and generate files. I can't access the files with the windows Explorer 7 - and windows Explorer cannot find in a search. I know they are there but they are "virtual".

Here are two ways to get Windows 7 to access files created in Windows XP Mode:

    1. the XP Mode virtual machine automatically assign a drive letter to each of the disks to the Windows 7 computer.  You can store files directly on these discs.
    2. you can share disk of the XP mode virtual machine and access it as a network drive in Windows 7. Boulder computer Maven

  • Can't see BIOS UEFI more Windows 8 after formatting hard drive

After formatting my hard drive, I don't see the opportunity to get into the BIOS/UEFI firmware anymore. It has disappeared from the troubleshooting Windows 8.1. It happened because I had to reinstall Windows because I wanted to put Windows on the SSD drive, that I adapted. Firstly tried to transfer files to Windows from the HARD drive that went successfully but my problem was trying to get the HP BIOS so he can start, he had no option as I saw in the other BIOS, select the name of the SSD drive and turn it on just for 1 St boot, (the SSD has been installed properly so she did state in the BIOS on other things and in the windows to) the only thing that he had in this BIOS is a command to start menu I dragged the SSD to the first boot. Windows restarted and it wouldn't boot from SSD yet, so I put it in legacy mode that came to the top with my SSD info to start first, but when I saved these settings and rebooted Windows it says has no disc or can't find windows. So that's how I got where I am now and had to reinstall Windows to get it working again. Can't find away to get the BIOS/UEFI on windows 8 Troubleshooting menu option more?

    Hello

The way most simple and easiest way to solve your dilemma to use the HP recovery media to build on the SSD system use the same SATA port that is used by the original Windows 8 boot drive. I know that this procedure works, at least on the PC that I used.

I'm not a fan of 'cloning' of hard disks to boot HP UEFI active.  There are simply too many problems. Using the HP with a SSD recovery holder sized to accept all the original HP recovery system. This includes not user data. Then use your original hard drive as a device of emergency start and space remaining for the storage of data.

  • I can't access anything other than Windows Media Center.

I don't know what I did, but now when I turn on my computer all I get is Windows Media Center. Whenever I try to access one of my programs or all the internet I get is Windows Media Center. How can I fix? I have Windows 7. I was able to get on the internet only by entry in the help and support for Windows. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello Jo,.

Great news. Glad to hear your back in business. Don't forget to mark it as your response so that we can spread the knowledge more far.

As for your question, the best answer is, 'with the application used to put the files on the CD. So if for example you use Explorer to copy the files on your CD player, you can use the function to copy even download them to your hard drive. If you used the Windows backup program to create the CD, and then use the backup program to restore the files to your PC.

If you need more instructions than, post it here with the program you used to create the CD in the first place, and I'll help you.

  • Can't access BIOS - Portege R500 PPR50E

Hi, it seems that I cannot access the BIOS on my Portege...

My BIOS password sometimes but I tell myself that I need to access BIOS immediately after that.

What is the correct combination please? It's ALT + F12? It does not work... :(

    Thank you!

    Hello

I think that the laptop uses the Toshiba BIOS and that is why you need to press F1, immediately after the laptop has been powered.

Check out what I think it will work.

  • Can't access BIOS laptop Windows XP Pro system, because it is secured by an unknown administrator password.

I bought a laptop Compaq Presario X 1000 Goodwill Industries. It has Windows XP Pro installed and is secured by an unknown administrator password. When I try to access the system BIOS at startup, it calls the administrator password and denies access. How can I remove this password for the BIOS settings? Everything I've tried so far has failed. Please notify.

If you're at it, you could open the laptop and find the BIOS battery - I think that if you remove for about 15 minutes, and that should reset the BIOS.

  • HP Envy: Monitor does not respond to the connection of Windows, so I can't access BIOS

I recently bought a hp desktop computer and installed a Sapphire double-X 270 of R9. After installation, I noticed six long beeps BIOS at startup. I have this attached to caused by the UEFI who need Legacy mode. The real problem here is that I can't get to the BIOS, my keyboard and the monitor do not respond until it starts with windows sign in screen. Until then the monitor is in standby. The same thing happens if I boot from the BIOS through windows. I have 10 windows to be clear. Here is the pc http://www.officedepot.com/a/products/848252/HP-Envy-Desktop-Computer-With-6th/

Remove the new graphics card and the original graphics on Board allows to boot in the BIOS/UEFI. Change your Legacy for UEFI, install your new graphics card and you should now have access to the BIOS/UEFI during the amorçage using the new graphics card.

Don't know if your original post on six beeps at startup meant that you had already tried to start with the new card in UEFI mode but that he was still unable to see anything pre-seed?
