Can't burn Windows DVD Maker

Can burner not found or not connected to DVD Maker-how I do? Thank you

Thank you Syed V.

Problem solved. I uninstalled DVD burning software, while only not used, but I discovered that the real problem is that Windows recognizes the Internet key as an optical drive. Just remove the key Internet and DVD MAKER works. Now I understand how to resolve this conflict.

  • Cannot find Windows DVD Maker

Good then it's perhaps insoluble, but I can find more Windows DVD Maker on my computer.  When I open the start menu and select all programs, it's not here.  Is it possible to uninstall this program?  If I managed to do is there any way I can restore it on my computer?

    Hello xDUngeoNMastERx,

Thank you for visiting the website of Microsoft Windows Vista Community.

Windows DVD creation is located in %ProgramFiles%\Movie Maker\DVDMaker.exe.  You should be able to create a shortcut icon and place it in the start menu.  If this isn't the case, then I suggest you do a restore of the system to date, the program has been lost.

This should answer your question or solve your problem.

    System restore

I hope the information is useful.

  • Windows DVD Maker can burn videos on Blu - Ray disks?

Creation of DVD Windows Help file really should indicate if she can do it or not.  And Yes, I have a Blu - Ray burner in case anyone is wondering.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Windows 7 has no native support, you won't be able to burn discs using Windows DVD Maker.
You need a writer application and third party Blue-Ray that will support it.

  • What type of DVD should I buy to burn my Windows Movie Maker movie? Also, I have Windows DVD Maker, but no DVD burner. What should I buy?

I created a movie in Movie Maker.  I bought some DVD + r's - the correct burn the movie on?  Also, I don't have a burner, I thought that I did, I can only burn a CD what should I buy?  I don't have a Windows DVD authoring program.

    Hi rondah,.

Welcome to the Microsoft community newsgroups.

The type of recordable DVD, you need to use depends on your DVD burner, as well as on your DVD player. Some DVD burners can burn only to certain types of DVD recordable. For example, with some DVD burners, you can only record to DVD + R discs or DVD + RW or DVD-R or DVD - RW discs, while some other DVD burners will let you burn on all of these recordable DVD types.

As long as your DVD burner supports burning to these types of discs, you can use Windows DVD creation to burn a DVD using one of the following types of recordable and re-recordable DVD media: DVD + R, DVD + RW, DVD - R, DVD - RW, and DVD - ROM. These recordable or rewritable DVDs can be either simple single laminate or single sided double layer.

You should also consider the device you're using to play the DVD once you have engraved, if possible. Some DVD players and DVD - ROM drives play only certain types of DVD. To determine what types of DVDs your DVD player or DVD - ROM drive can play, see the documentation that came with your device or go to the manufacturer's Web site.

FWIW... nor Windows Media Player or Windows DVD

The following freeware can create an ISO Image

I am running Windows DVD Maker on a Vista PC.  When I start the burn sequence the coding process will continue at 40% and then the application freezes.  My initial project was 125 minutes of capacity DVD 150 minutes.  I tried to burn a small project in 58 minutes and successfully completed.  No idea why I can't use more than the ability of the DVD?  All I can do to fix this?  I'm running a new HP with a Phenom x 4 processor, 64-bit, and I've got important of RAM and hard drive space available.

Usually a single layer 4.7 GB DVD white held an hour of high
quality video. With compression, some programs are capable of
the extension of this period. I don't know exactly what is DVD Maker
capable of in that regard I think 150 minutes it is really pushing.

Large and complex projects usually cause problems. Best bet IMHO
would be to create several small projects and publish (save) each
a WMV format movie to a folder on your hard drive.

Then import the WMV files collected in DVD Maker and each of them
becomes a scene (chapter), you can have up to 18 scenes.

Without a doubt... video editing and DVD burning can be a frustrating business.

    Good luck with your project.

  • Burned DVD using Windows DVD Maker times only once on my Blu - ray player

    Original title: burned dvd

When I do a cd burned with my windows dvd maker, dvd will play only once on my blu - ray player separated from the TV.  It works fine the first time, but the Player cannot find the disc any time after that.  I use dvd + r discs.  Is there a formatting problem, or do I need to get the dvd + rw discs.  I'm really at a loss.  Thanks for your help guys!

    Hi frapachino21,

-The problem occurs with all CD/DVD you burn using Windows DVD Maker?

-After playback of the disc on the Blu - ray drive, the drive is not detected on your desktop/computer laptop with no problems?

To use certain kinds of CD or DVD discs outside of your computer, you must close the session, which is a process that prepares the disc to be read by other computers and players.

You can try to close or finalize the CD/DVD and check if it makes a difference.
