  Hello!  I just create a movie using Windows Movie Maker (HP Pavilion dv6000/Windows Vista Home Premium).  During the PREVIEW, the first part of the video of my film sometimes will not play (view) while the audio continues.   Looks like music files is perhaps not fully compatible with the film
  Maker. MP3s can be problematic. The more reliable format is. WMA.

  Two things that may be worth a try...

  When you are ready to register... go to... Tools / Options / Compatibility
  tab and disable all filters / OK.

  Try to save.

  When you save... choose the DV - AVI option... it can produce a better
  result, but the file size will be much larger.

  To save a DV - AVI movie file...
  (and other options)
  Type of... CTRL + P (or go to...) File / save movie file)
  to open the wizard movie recording.
  Choose... My computer.
  Next /.
  Enter a name and a location.
  Next /.
