  • Can not get updates after SP2 installed on Win Vista Home

I just installed SP2 on two computers. A Compaq laptop and the other a HP desktop computer. I can't receive any update on computers.

Windows Update insists that the computer is up to date.

In comparison, my own computer with Windows Vista SP2 has many applied updates.

    How can I fix this?

    Charles_W_Davis,
If it's been a few days since you have installed SP2 and don't always get updates then you may need to reset Windows Update components.  Run the hotfix article tool, and then run Windows Update.  First, run the tool in normal mode, then test, if it is not corrected, then run it in aggressive mode.  Post back with the results. • Satellite P500 - 01 G-install the Toshiba software after clean install

    Hi all

I have a Toshiba P500 - 01 G (http://www.mytoshiba.com.au/products/computers/satellite/p500/pspgsa-01g003/overview) running the grouped Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. I bought an upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate, but can not use it, he just tells me to use Windows Anytime Upgrade.

However, I can use it for a clean install and I intend, but I don't know what to do on the Toshiba Software (http://www.mytoshiba.com.au/support/computers/satellite/p500/pspgsa-01g003/download?os=25).
I read on another thread that the software must be installed in a certain order and frankly I have no idea! I don't want to break something! I'm not to ask for the list accurate for each of them (except if you have time) but just a general guide as to what I should install in the order.

Also, I guess that my recovery partition is erased in the process and I can't get it back. Is this true?

Thank you very much. I really appreciate it,
    Abraham.

    Hello, Abraham

I m the Satellite P500 owner too and it's really great machine, isn t it? I like it. My Toshiba best ever.
My machine is preinstalled original Toshiba recovery image and it works without any problems so I put t want to change anything.

Back to your question. I assume that you have a few reasons why you want to use the Ultimate version then you should try to clean OS install. Before you anything create recovery DVDs. Make two copies.
After that make what you can do with your laptop all you used to because if you want to have the factory settings, again you can use created the recovery disc and install original recovery image.
After recovery of registered OS image will help and you will not be able to start the installation of HARD drive recovery then please create restore DVD.

  • Re: How can I get MS Win7 operating installed on my laptop?

I bought my laptop computer Toshiba with WINDOWS 7 pre - installed. For some reason, I had to reformat my computer so I lost the original windows 7 OS which was preinstalled. How can I get a new Windows7 installed for free?

    What is free today?
    You have two options:
1 / you can order the original restore on https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx disc and have own Win7 preinstalled who also will be successfully activated. This option costs about 30 euros, but it is easier and better option for you.
2 / you can install the version of Win7 clean using the Microsoft installation disc. All the necessary drivers, tools and utilities, you can download it from http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp

I put t see other options.

  • Windows update fails to Downlaod after clean install

    Hello

Im having problem installing windows update after clean install (although it happned to me after GHOST as well)
On my new computer, I have 2 updates of isnatll 1:
    (1) Windows Genuine Advantage Validation Tool (KB892130)
    (2) update for Windows XP (KB898461)

When I try to install them by using "Windows Update" or "Microsoft update" I get the following error code: Error Code: 0 x 80246002

    someone meet souch problem?
When google for a solution based on this error code I found nothing.

Thank you very much for your help,
    see you soon

What were the problems you saw that you thought a "clean install" of Windows XP could solve?

This "clean install" included formatting the HARD drive?

The "clean install" left you with WinXP WinXP SP1, WinXP SP2 or WinXP SP3 gold (no Service Pack)?

What application or antivirus security suite is installed and your current subscription?  What anti-spyware (other than Defender) applications?  What third-party firewall (if applicable)?

A (another) Norton or McAfee application has already been installed on the computer (for example, a test free version comes preinstalled when you buy it and that would have been reinstalled, but invalid, when you did the clean install)?

You receive an error code "0 x 80246002" when you use Windows Update or Microsoft Update Web sites to install updates:

  • Can't get Windows 7 to install at all.

I built a computer using GA-Z77X-UD3H motherboard, processor Celeron G1610, 2 x 4 GB Patriot Viper 3 DDR3-1600 Ram slowed to 1333, WD10ezex hard drive, samsung, Corsair TX750 power supply dvd player. I downloaded and burned to disc Windows 7 Windows Dreamspark site. I can't get Windows 7 to install. It shows the "loading files" bar twice, then displays a "starting Windows" screen, then the dreaded blue screen of death. I have tried many changes to BIOS, tried the upgrade to Windows XP. Nothing seems to work. Help, please. Thank you.

Its possible the. ISO downloaded from Dreamspark is corrupt. Try to download and burn to a DVD still blank and the reattempt again installation.

If you have compatible hardware and your computer still stops responding, disable any unnecessary material. Remove (USB) universal serial bus devices. Remove or disable network cards, sound cards and cards of the series; and then restart the installation.

You can also try to reduce the amount of RAM installed on a single key and try the installation. If successful, you can reinstall the additional memory after the installation is complete.

How can I get MS OneNote 2003 installed again?

    Hello

Unfortunately, your M40 was an OEM XP Home Edition and Onenote installation. This means that products are 'grouped' and you should have a set of recovery CDs or DVDs for you to restore the system in case of hard drive failure or system get damaged somehow.

Unless you have been provided with a separate recovery for Onenote CD then the only way you can restore is to completely restore the entire system OEM (including XP Home Edition).

Your other option is to buy your own copy of Microsoft, in which case you will have a non - OEM version that you can then install regardless of the operating system.

Theres been a few problems with Windows Update with Windows 7 clean install for these last months... You can use the WSUS Offline Update Patch Windows 7, after that Windows Update works.

You can reset the Windows Update components by running the Fixit on this page. But if there is malware present, she will continue to reset the connection to the update servers:

How to reset the Windows Update components

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/971058

Suggest you download and save the Fixit. Then configure the system before the clean boot by running:

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista/Windows 7

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Once the Fixit has been downloaded and the system is started in the pure State, check that the native Windows Firewall is now on if a 3rd party firewall has been used previously. Now run the Fixit and choose the default mode. Restart once it's done and see if the system can be connected to the update servers. If he can't, then rerun the Fixit and choose aggressive mode. Turn it back on when he finished the race and updates.

I suggest before you stop and install the updates, disconnect from the Internet, first.

I also recommend that download you and install Service Pack 3 for Office 2003, then look for updates in the Help menu.
