Can't play DVDs on flea market M300? I need drivers?

I know that user: RachelClark has already posted on the same problem, but I want to know if rachelclark or everyone has understood, why I can't play DVDs on my portege M300? I need drivers? If yes where can I get them? any help/advice would be appreciated.

Thank you

Hello

Can you please give us more info on the drive on your Portege? The drive is recognized correctly in the Device Manager? What DVD player are you using and you are having problems with the original DVD movies?
Is just problem with DVD or CD too?

  • Cannot read DVD on flea market Portege M300

    Hello.

I wonder if someone can help me. I bought an flea market portege M300 and it's fine - however I could not create recovery discs that the option was not on the section Protect and Fix on Toshiba Assist.
Now, I can't read the DVD.

I guess that sort of resettlement was made but not with the toshiba recovery discs and so I can see I can play DVD CD or burn CDs. Does anyone have any ideas as to what I should do. Toshiba send me a recovery disc for the machine and so I was wondering if they would be on these discs and if I should wait until they arrive.

    Thank you, best regards,.

    Hello

Does the drive support the function of burning?

You can try to enter in the properties of the drive and select the recording tab.
The option activate write to this drive must be marked.

On the Toshiba Recovery CD, you will find an image with preinstalled operating system and all the Toshiba drivers needed and utility.
If you want to watch DVDs if you need special software such as WinDVD or PowerDVD.
These are applications of DVD player. I guess the WinDVD must be preinstalled on the image.
To burn a CD s, you are also burning software. I advise to use a Nero.
For me this is one of the best burning applications.

You should try using different media. You should know that not all media are compatible and supported.

You bought this laptop as a second hand unit, so it is possible that the drive is bad. Sometimes, if the drive cannot burn or read some of the media due to the error of calibration of lens. In this case there are not a lot to do to replace the drive.

I created the video file in movie maker and then use the option to burn on dvd in Director using a dvd - rw disc.  I can read the disc on the computer, but can't play them on the TV.  I checked with the manufacture of the VCR and said that this type of disc will play on my machine.  Others have suggested that the dvd was not finalized, but I guess it was taken in charge in machine to dvd program. If the system can run Windows 7 AND there are drivers for the devices that these might help:

References to Vista also apply to Windows 7.

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

    ===============================

Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD

  • I can't play DVDs in Windows Media Player 12 on Windows 7 Pro and get this error msg: Windows Media Player cannot play this DVD because there is a problem with the digital copy between your DVD drive decoder and video card protection.

Hello, thanks for reading and helping me.

I try to play a legitimate, belonging to DVD, but Windows Media Player 12 will not play on my computer Windows 7 Professional.  The DVD worked a few days ago, but all of a sudden, I get the following error message:

"Windows Media Player cannot play this DVD because there is a problem with the digital copy between your DVD player and the video card protection decoder. Try to install a driver available for your video card.

I did a lot of research of these forums and on the ' net.  Here are the suggested steps I tried without success:

    • I tried VLC player.  This works.  However, rather than use this workaround, I wish to find a solution to my problem WMP/WMC.
    • I tried several DVD for years over the last decade.  These DVD works on my laptop, also running Windows 7 Professional and the shark 007 codec.
    • I uninstalled my Shark 007 codec
    • I tried other codecs (K-Lite)
    • I assured that the latest drivers are installed on my video card, XFX ATI Radeon 5850
    • I tried to uninstall Nero 9
    • I tried to use the Windows 7 troubleshooting options:
    • > Reading and burning CD, DVD and Blu - ray (no problem)
    • > Windows Media Player DVD (no problem)
    • > Windows Media Player Settings (detects a problem, wants to restore factory settings, every time, no matter what happens)
    • A system restore to a time when the DVD was working did not resolve the issue
    • The different links in Microsoft, I found in this forum about this problem do not seem to be useful.  There is a link that points to the set-top boxes, but this page just says: "Windows 7 comes with a decoder.
    • I assured the latest driver is available by going to "Device Manager", right click on the drive, then click on "update driver software".
    • I assured that the latest firmware is installed directly from the manufacturer's website.
    • I tried to reset my DRM by renaming the DRM under C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows folder and by going to this Web site to upgrade:http://drmlicense.one.microsoft.com/Indivsite/en/indivit.asp?force=1
    • I've uninstalled and reinstalled Windows Media Player 12 and Windows Media Center via the function "functionality in Windows.

I would be very grateful if a Microsoft technology could chime.  Thanks for your help!

    Hello

Can you please tell us what operating system you are using and what model of laptop.

In any case, if your optical disc drive can read CD but not DVD, it is possible that the driver is defective or the lens is dirty.
The first time, please clean the lens.

If this will not help it is possible that ODD has problem with the calibration of the lens.
