Can't rebuild my PC?

Hello

I have a HP with Windows Vista dv9565ea.  I had to change the hard drive (one of them failed) and a new motherboard.  So I tried to reinstall my software.  I insert the recovery disk that I created when I got the laptop and it starts on the CD, but says that it does not work on this laptop (which is the same).

Then I tried loading from a Windows Anytime Upgrade disk and find Vista product key will not register.

Help!  What should I do to either get the dv9565 recovery disk to work or install Vista from another disk using the key on the base of the laptop.

Any help appreciated because I do not just want to run Linux (only s/s I can load).

Chris

Where did you got the motherboard of?

If it was HP, you must call and explain the problem, it is related to the new motherboard, bios of HP that is on the motherboard has not informed cell phone model number, then the recovery disc sees this and says that it cannot install, HP must be contacted directly and ask them what to do to enter this information in the new bios of motherboard and drives recovery cannot function.

The product key on the sticker of the laptop does not have with Anytime Upgrade disc.

  • Lost iTunes Library - CAN not rebuild. Help!

Tonight I thought I had lost most of my iTunes library. It turns out that I didn't have that I can find the content itself, but iTunes can't see it. So, I followed the instructions here to try to resolve the problem: https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT203225

It did not work. I found myself with some of my content. Most of my music, none of my TV or movies (and no, these were not bought through iTunes)

I then tried to rebuild my iTunes Library with these instructions: http://www.mcelhearn.com/how-to-rebuild-your-itunes-library/

    It did not work also.

So, I was wondering if I should completely remove iTunes from my iMac, the re - install it if this could work?

Although I had to remove, and then reinstall iTunes, I still have all my content back inside however get. All content currently, lives on an external hard drive and so I do not know what to do really. I thought maybe I could drag and drop content more but there is more content on this external drive to the room, I have available on my iMac.

    Any ideas?

The first method rebuilt your library by using a backup file created whenever you updated the iTunes application. If you have videos in there at the time that they should appear even if only as broken links. If they had not been entered and then realize that it uses an older version of your library file.  The library file doesn't say what media he recorded for you and where, not an inventory of your media files to iTunes.

The second method allows to rebuild the library based on a version in alternate formats of the library file. It is regularly updated and if, during your previous attempts it updated the .xml to match the library at this stage, then that is clearly not good.

I do not reinstall the application. If you are desperate then simply slide the media on the outside back into the existing library.  Designated as the place to store media in iTunes > Preferences > advanced is the external drive then he should leave the files there.

You have the entire library on the external hard drive, or just media? Be aware if you have all of your external library must be on before launching iTunes.

  • How can actually rebuild a Unity Server?

I ICS7750 unit server (4.0.3) and want to rebuild scratching in MCS box (4.0.4).

Y does it have that no doc describes the procedure step by step to move the unit to the new system without dirt? I can reconfigure the General stuff of unity, but the question is how effectively move the Subscriber. I can use BulkImport, but how can he do the wave files.

    Thank you

Well well, the best I can suggest is to use Subscriber Information Dump (which can export WAV files for subscribers using their alias or extension) and then you can use CUBI import them with their voice name... see Help for CUBI see what CSV columns are for this. You can't know everything, but you can get some of them more.

  • Can customers rebuild an Exadata machine with the latest versions of battery?

There is a possibility that we will be buying two new Exadata (X 3) machinery in the near future. I get very happy if I wasn't already completely flooded :)

If this happens, we are going to ask Oracle to install the last and the largest battery software when they arrive on-site with our new toys. Currently, this means:

    < i > OEL: 5,7 (with the latest kernel)
    SSE: 11.2.3.2.1 (CF-writing, mmmmm!)
    RDBMS/IM: 11.2.0.3.17 < /i >

Our current Production database is on a machine V2 and the following versions of the stack:

    < i > OEL 5.5
    ESS 11.2.2.3.2
    RDBMS/IM 11.2.0.2 BP7 < /i >

We hope, once the dust settles, we can redirect our existing V2 machine as the development environment. However, in order for this to be of any usefulness, we need the software stack to match which will run in Production on the X3s.

As far as I understand, the upgrade path is as follows (according to 888828.1)

< i > improve the o/s to 5.7 OEL and the latest kernel on the storage cells and model nodes
Update the firmware of the switch of IB to 1.3.3 - 2 (which we already have)
Update the Exadata Storage Server on the storage cells and nodes of the model at 11.2.3.2.1
Install the 11.2.0.3.17 IM and RDBMS binaries
    Upgrade ASM 11.2.0.2 to 11.2.0.3.17
    Install the binary RDBMS 11.2.0.3.17
    Development of brand/move/restore/copy on the new-updated V2 machine. < /i >

I wonder whether it is better for us to upgrade the machine V2 our current versions of the stack in later or whether it is better to try a reconstruction?

As long as customer, are we able to rebuild the stack ourselves with the new software, or do we have Oracle come and go in their installation process (we put a different version of the battery on that we currently have)?

    Mark

    Hi Mark,

We need to upgrade the operating system (5.5 to 5.7)

The operating system on Exadata is not a standard iso image used on another server or virtual machine.
(It will be clearer if you read the bare metal restore the steps below)

Relocation-by-yourself method is "approved" by Oracle?

    Support, it is.
For example: If you lose a db node you can rebuild it image by the method "reinstall-by-yourself."
Discover DocID 1084360.1 Bare Metal Restore procedure to compute nodes on an Exadata environment.
It is BTW a good starting point to understand a complete regeneration.

  • How can I rebuild Contacts using files retrieved from a failing hard drive?

I want to restore the Contacts (address book) on my new MacBook Pro, using recovered files to a failed drive of my old Mac. My Help Desk was able to extract most of the data files (but not apps) from the defective drive. These data files are restored to the new Mac. Of these, I chose a few hundreds of files of the type, 'The card Contacts data', using the smart folder feature. I named the file, "All contacts Map Data Type." (I must have assembled the information to hand over the years, as only a handful of contacts have a vCard.)

I've been so far failed to restore the info in the Contacts application: (a) tried "Import" functionality of the application, but the dialog box that opens shows no files "all the contacts data card kind; (b) tried to drag the selected files in the folder "All files of Contacts data card kind" on the Contacts icon closed, but no luck. (c) the Contacts application, when in reality open, shows the first entry of contact (Apple Inc.) and no place to drag the files selected in.

Each 'card contacts' file has a file name that has the name of a person, preceded of a Rolodex-like icon doesn't seem to be a good type of data in the Contacts application. Maybe that's a previous type of an address book application?

    Any suggestions?

Have you tried to drag the folder in the sidebar of the Finder to see if you can then see when you use Import?

  • How can I rebuild a file descriptor without the necessary info VMDK?

I have four files VMDK format 2gbsparse without the correct descriptor file. I need to access the data (access part will do). I don't know the correct origin of the disk size or the last piece.

The sizes of the blocks are:

    2,094,596,096 test-c-export - s001.vmdk

    2,139,947,008 test-c-export - s002.vmdk

    1,790,012,344 test-c-export - s003.vmdk

    1,739,020,288 test-c-export - s004.vmdk

Any tool can deal with this situation? I failed to persuade VDK to play songs again.

the descriptor you compound is inconsistent - you use a diskgeometry for a record 38 GB.

    You must use better

    DDB. Geometry.Cylinders = "1043".

    instead of 5000.

Do not use vmkfstools - I it would rise with vdk.exe instead.

Anyway - I doubt that it will work like that - the disc was probably not created in 8188 MB size.

I suggest you fake a 5th slice and use a geometry for 8 GB

  • Error: "this action cannot be completed because the file is open in another program" when trying to remove the Windows Media Player folder to rebuild the database

Original title: can't rebuild WMP database

I tried to delete the folder 'Media Play' in App\Data but still received this message "the action cannot be completed because the file is open in another program '. '"

I need to remove this folder in order to correct the problem with my playlists :(

    Hi Unpreghini,

    1. What is the problem you are having with playlists?

Start the computer in safe mode and then try to recreate the database of Windows Media Player. To do this, try this step.
Step 1: Start the computer in safe mode
    a. see start your computer in safe mode: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Start-your-computer-in-safe-mode
    b. connection to the problem user account.

Step 2: Rebuild the media player database
    a. Click Start, type run, click Run, type % LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft, and then click OK.
    b. Select the Media Player folder, and then click on Delete on the file menu.
    c. restart Windows Media Player.
    d. check if the problem persists.

Note: Windows Media Player will automatically rebuild the database.

  • RAID 1 array degraded; no option to rebuild

I have a PowerEdge T110 server with a PERC S100 RAID controller (firmware / RAID of 'false').  Unfortunately, I had a little accident tonight while I was working on this machine.  In trying to clean up a mess of cable, I accidentally yanked on the wrong cable and disconnected the power supply of the server.

When the server has been run through POST, he paused and said the RAID 1 array was degraded.  Entering the S100 configuration, it tells me that unit 0 is degraded, and the other is fine.  The server starts very well.

I opened the OpenManage utility that displays the status of the Ramdisk to deteriorate as well.  However, despite the poster the State as being degraded, absolutely nowhere no it lists all option to rebuild the table.  I can't even check the consistency.  Under the drop-down list for 'tasks', the only available options are:

    1. Delete
    2. Having-right/remove the dedicated hot spare assignment
    3. Change of name

That's all.  Of course, I don't want to do any of these.  The BIOS configuration utility seems also unnecessary.  Although it lists the specific physical drive that is deteriorating, I see no option to rebuild the coherence of the table.  Because the physical disk has failed and is not actually damaged, I don't need or want to replace it.

So, why everything isn't rebuild option listed, and how can I rebuild this table without deleting all of the volume and restore a backup?

I tried swapping cables, and while he was smart enough to realize that the disk has just moved, it has not affected the degraded disk.

I decided to do bankruptcy and just remove the degraded and 'clean' drive by using DiskPart.  That has worked, and Windows 7 shows the drive as "not initialized".  I put back it in the server, and it has been recorded as being non RAID... was not even as 'new '.  Basically, it was like its own volume automatically.

I kept starting in Windows Server to verify that I have screwed something up to put my nerves at ease.  Windows starts, I went in the virtual disks of OpenManage section and saw that the (rather old) 'new' drive appeared.  So, I chose "delete" in the list of available jobs.  He deleted successfully, disappearing from the list of virtual disks.

At this point, I thought I could go ahead and assign a spare drive dedicated to the array degraded since the tasks available.  Nope. No disks available. What?

Panic now, I went in the "physical disk" section of OpenManage, and he was there with his status as a 'ready' (opposite to 'online').  The title of his available tasks, it was 'global hot spare assignment. "  I did that, and the status of the RAID battery under 'virtual disks' changed to 'reconstruction '.

[ADMIN NOTE: profanity removed by TOU], why was it so difficult?

During the time I spent writing this, its reconstruction progress has reached 4%.  I'll update on the State when it is finished.

EDIT: Everything worked successfully.  Reconstruction finished after a few hours and the RAID volume is re-reading in good health.

  • 5.4 Lightroom crashed my computer and now I can't open LR.

I'm hoping to avoid reinstalling so I hope someone has some ideas because I'm out of them.

My computer has just become black when I import a fairly large amount of new RAW images. After about 30 minutes of this black screen, I decided he was not coming back and I turned off the computer. Now, I try to open LR, it gives me a false glow of hope because it opens only to have an error box will appear 30 seconds later. The box States: "Lightroom has encountered an error when reading the preview cache and need to quit." After that I can only shut the box down which stops LR.

I tried all the normal fixes since the obvious reboot to try to fix it from Control Panel, but I get an error message of the impasse with everything I try. I even installed upgrading 5.6 hoping he could fix or install a new version which was better with the duty set all my catalogs.

    Any ideas?

OK what you need to do, is go to the folder with your catalog inside and remove the folder with the name that ends with Previews.lrdata.

It is damaged by the accident.

It contains only excerpts that can be rebuild as needed by Lightroom, or you can select files or all files and use the rendered previews Standard in the library Drop Down Menu command.
