Can't see my Windows 7 user account (users\John) in Windows Explorer. I search/modify it from the control panel. I can see it from the command prompt. What gives?

I use Windows 7 and everthing works apparently fine.  However, I can't see my account of user (users\John) in Windows Explorer.  I see the default administrator. Accounts and account "TempAdmin" I just did.  I search/modify 'John' in the control panel.  I can see ' C:\Users\John > ' from the command prompt and the view (dir\) directories, but it is not there in Windows Explorer.  What gives?

It is a file system / hidden?

May not, your settings in Windows Explorer is configured to be able to see (display hidden and system files/directories).

  • "Windows Explorer has stopped working" if I open Control Panel

Guys, could someone help me please?

When I open the Control Panel, it says "Windows Explorer has stopped working" and then it restarts Windows Explorer. When I right click on any folder it says "recording of the UI language is not valid" 5 times and for a split second, it says "Corrupted registry" then it works. But I am unable to use the control panel.

I have Windows Vista home premium and Norton Antivirus.

    Can someone help me please?

    Hello

The error message says something about corrupt registry.
So, it seems that this issue would be related to incorrect or damaged registry entries.

If the registry is damaged, your operating system will not work as it should and can feel such or similar problems.

I m using the CCLeaner to clean the registry and other system files.
It s a free tool and you should try it.

If this does not work and if you notice the same question so I would recommend reinstalling the OS using the Toshiba recovery disc.
In most cases this will help you fix this registry

    Hello

I don't know if it will work using the in my opinion Mr. recovery console, it is not possible.
As far as I know that you can add the user and the password using the CMD, but this might work only when the Windows operating system has been loaded.

In this case, you can use this command to add the user account: + net user username / add +.
If you want to add a password for the user account, then you must use this way: + net user username password / Add +.

This is not a trivial process for non trained. Also note that open a command prompt does NOT give your son of additional privileges unless he knows the password for an administrator account.
Please note that if you skip any step then you may have a machine that won't start longer.
    1. Burn a CD to repair Windows via Control Panel / backup and restore.

I suggest you to follow these steps and check if that helps:

    Method 1:

Start the computer in safe mode and check if the same problem occurs:

    Method 2:

Try to perform the clean boot and check if it helps:

Otherwise, maybe the following can help (but I think that's the answer you're looking for).

Here's how to change the default template for a folder:http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/70819-windows-explorer-folder-view-settings.html.  Default behavior is to select the model based on the first type of file placed in the folder (you must choose something).  Vista sets thefolder type template according to what are the types of files in the window and the settings display window Explorer. This will show you how to resetthe Windows Explorer folder view settings, disable Automatic folder Type discovery and increase theview of the folder cache to have Vista don't forget display settings, model of file type, size, or position of a specific window for when it was still closed to the location of specific path.  Keep in mind that it works, just a generic and holistic - it will not work for individual folders by folder.  That cannot be done in Vista.  But you can create shortcuts to the folders that you want and add to the desktop or right-click

It does not work with the Sub record under, Open with, open in a new tab (Internet Explorer), etc... dialog windows of type through the goodFile menu bar item. These don't seem to be able to have their size or their position to recall. For the latter, you can use the free programhttp://autosizer.en.softonic.com/to resize them.

  • How do you do the command prompt window stay open after running a command?

OK, I feel stupid asking this, because I knew the answer before. I learn Visual C++ programming. The book I learn to write C++ and past then in details on the writing of the GUI from Visual C++ part. The book that I market me through compilation and to make an exe file in a cpp file, and then he said: go to the directory in Explorer and double click on the exe file. I do, and the command prompt appears a quick second before closing down. The example in the book shows the output, and the writer obviously has his guest configured to pause after executing an exe file.

I just set up my guest to do the same thing, so I can at least see the results. I know that running the exe I wrote, but I would like to see the output for less than a second.

I don't know how you code this. But if it's like a normal batch or whatever it is command line related.

Follow these steps to use a switch defined by the user at the end of the script.

To pause a file of DOS commands under Windows XP, continue to the next command, you can use the PAUSE command. Make request to the user with the text:

Press any key to continue. . .

Then the batch file is waiting for the user to press a button. However, if you want to pause a batch file and display anything? Simply redirect the results to no one as follows:

    pause > null

Given that it is perhaps not very useful (how will the user know they need to press a key to continue the batch file?) you display a different prompt. Issue a command with your desired guest ECHO, and then issue the break preceding > no command.

For example, to pause a batch file of Windows XP with the prompt "Press ENTER to run the command", use the following commands:

echo press ENTER to run the command
    pause > null
    MCP. MCDST. LVL 80

  • Execution of multiple lines of command at the command prompt (windows)

    Hello

I'm vascular using the command prompt in the windows to try to send a command to the microcontroller that is connected through TCP connection.

I am able to use the normal cmd.exe to send the command but I am unable to send the command all successfully using labview.

The Vi. I use the exec.vi system found in the labview connectivity section.

Basically, I want to send is 'telnet A1' motion in the cmd.exe to establish a connection to the microcontroller, followed by "For A1 100 GO," which will be performed by the microcontroller to do what is necessary. But currently, the problem is that I can only establish a connection using the exec.vi system but can't send the second part of the message 'for A1 100 GB".

My command line, I tried typing is cme.exe /K telnet A1 & for A1 100 GB. It seems that labview is only able to run the first part of the command. Y at - there no alternatives?

Thank you for all your help.

I suspect that there are problems of synchronization with this code. Forst, you should clean it to the top because it is very difficult to follow. Cables are hidden under objects, this is a lot bigger than a view type and the code is usually very disorganized. I also suggest that you look at using a state machine, but also a structure of the event to intercept the user interface events such as the Start button.

If you have used Windows Explorer (computer) to create the directory in question (C:\KindleGen\) and extract the files in this directory...

    Open a command prompt.

    Type:

    CD \KindleGen

    Type:

    DIR

Run everything you are supposed to run by typing the name.

  • Mapping network drives through the command prompt to another user

Right now I am implementing a batch file that will map the readers of network for other user accounts. Currently, I can only card readers for the connected account and no one else. Is there a way to do it through the command prompt, or I have to use powershell. Really, I'd rather it be done through the command prompt as I already all the completed script, with the exception of this part.

    Thank you

EDIT: After further review, I conclude that there is no possible way to do it. Simply, it is not included in all orders that I could find. If someone finds, then great, but if not, like I did is as follows:

Check the user credentials against a master list which also has passwords.

Once a match, use this user name and corresponding password.

Run this to authenticate by using the Group Policy Editor.

You can map drives with group policy or by using a startup script (= batch file) that contains one or more of the following commands:

    NET use / persistent: no
NET use q: \\ServerName\ShareName / User: David SomePassword

    NET use q: \\ServerName\ShareName / User: David *.

Note that the incorporation of the passwords in a batch file is a serious safety hazard that is why the second command is preferable.

I hope someone has a suggestion for this problem... I just bought a new laptop and Windows 7 Professional came installed on it.

    Thank you

    Linney thanks for your response!

The file I'm trying to install is an exe file (so the SIG file is embedded in the exe file).

I tried the option "Run As Administrator" and it did not work.  However, you gave me an idea that has provided a work around that allowed me to install the program.

Once this dialog box is displayed with all the control switches, rather than press 'OK', I left on the screen and went in the 'temp' folder and find the MSI program I tried to install (I cross referenced the timestamp of when I tried to install it to find).

Once I found the updated file, I clicked it, and he proceeded to install the program... I have not had any other problems with the installation.

So, there's something wrong with the way that the exe file have been created and how the files extracted from the msi file (these are files of Intel and Lenovo - driver updates - so I think they do these things) or there is a problem with Windows Installer.

For now, at least, I have a work around I use until I find a solution to this problem of permanent

Thanks for your help and for taking the time to answer!

I hope this can help someone else in the future
