Can't send emails using Windows Mail on Vista SP2

I am running Windows Mail on Vista SP2. I hv set up one account using POP with a supplier's existing PSI (not the one I use). Able to read and send messages. He stopped working for the send now option. Get updates warned miss the numeric identifiers and, finally, an error: the connection to the server has failed. Are subject: join my network on LinkedIn', account: ' ', server: 'smtp.iprimus.com.au', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, secure (SSL): no, Socket error: 10060, error number: 0x800CCC0E. E-mail messages remain in the Outbox and Inbox update regularly.

I'm not sure of what is a provider of 'hope', but if you try to send via an SMTP server that does belong not to the Internet provider to which you are connected, then it will be probably blocked.  Many vendors have a mechanism to overcome that, but you must check with the individual POP3 provider to determine the port numbers and other settings to enable the SMTP protocol work (this is to avoid spam).

I don't know if this will help or not, but if you can send the same email as your Internet service provider and may not by another, then this is probably the reason.

Make sure you also deleted you account, closed and reopened Winmail opener and then added it again (or add another copy of the same account) to ensure that something is not altered in these settings.

I'm unable to send some mail using windows mail.  I tried to send test e-mails to my own hotmail address that works very well, but for some reason, that cannot send e-mail messages to other addresses. Hi Kiss

Thanks for your reply.  I've isolated the problem.  It seems that a particular email could not be sent and has been 'blocking' of the Outbox.  It's very strange that the content in the email was the same as any other email I sent without problems this morning - I guess it could be something to do with the e-mail address? The address is for a Spanish newspaper online: * e-mail address is removed from the privacy *.

In any case, at least I can send other emails now and I guess I'll just have to send it by mail!  If you could shed some light on the mystery of why that particular address is a problem, I would be very grateful :-)

    Thank you

It's a mistake on end of Verizon server-side no matter what they tell you and it is they who must solve.  Have you read the 'spamfaq' referenced in the error?  It can contain sufficient information to determine what you might have caused the rejection of your message.  This could also help: https://my.verizon.com/central/vzc.portal?_nfpb=true&_pageLabel=vzc_help_policies&id=AntiSpamPolicy

The people at Verizon who told you that he cannot be their problem because you can send the message when you use the web interface, don't seem to have a very good knowledge of the works of electronic mail.  When you send via the web interface, you are not in communication with the SMTP server that resembles your outgoing mail.  So, if the server accepting mail from your mail client Windows that analysis mail, using the web interface allows to bypass this server and, therefore, the scanning.

There are problems with Windows Mail in Vista.   You need to make sure that the antivirus software does not WinMail.  See www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3 .

Once you do this, then try to go to the Outbox and delete the messages there.  If you can't, close WinMail and use my Windows Mail utility to compact and repair the database and clear the Outbox (www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/).  Then delete your e-mail account, close and reopen WinMail and then add your account to e-mail back again.  If it is a POP3 e-mail account and you have access to multiple devices, then you should go to tools | Accounts | Mail | Properties | Advanced and set to leave a copy of messages on the server (so other devices can access the messages) and set then remove them after a certain number of days, so they don't accumulate and clog the Inbox on the server.

  • Sending EMAIL with Windows Mail in Vista

I am running Windows Vista on a HP Pavilion desktop computer we bought recently.  I spent hours on the phone with HP Support, but none of their technicians can find a way to solve this problem...

Because Windows Vista no longer uses Outlook Express to an e-mail client, we had to use the built-in Windows Mail to receive our email.  We have a server of private messaging on the server of our company (SendMail) that we use for our e-mail account.  We have set up a new account in Windows Mail using the same settings that we had previously used to Outlook Express on the Windows XP computer that we used before.  Outlook Express worked perfectly on this computer and we were able to send and receive mail from our company without any problems email server.

However, on this new computer using Windows Mail Vista, we RECEIVE our electronic messages very well without any problems.  However, whenever we try to SEND a message of Windows Mail, we always return the same error as follows:

"An unknown error has occurred. "Object 'Test Mail', account: 'Mail of CLEonline.com', server: 'mail.cleonline.com', Protocol: SMTP, server response: 421 cannot connect to the SMTP 207.200.18.35 (207.200.18.35:25), connect error 10060', Port: 25, secure (SSL): no, Server error: 421, error number: 0x800CCC67".

I checked with our network administrator and there been no change to our server or SendMail software since we were receiving and sending e-mail with Outlook Express XP machine successfully.  The technicians HP tried to change many settings in Windows Mail to this account, but none of them worked.  They finally told us to call Microsoft about this problem because they couldn't solve it.

If someone could please answer and explain what we need to do to solve this problem so that we can begin to send e-mail once more, we would appreciate it a lot.  (You wish we could still use Outlook Express.  It worked very well and I do not see why he should be taken...)

    Thank you.

I tried this but now I get a slightly different error as follows:

"The connection to the server failed. ' Object 'Of Test Mail', account: 'Mail of CLEonline.com', server: 'mail.cleonline.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 587, secure (SSL): no, Socket error: 10060, error number: 0x800CCC0E ".

I get this error even if the port is set to 465 or 587.

    Any other ideas?

    Thank you.

    My last bag of stuff...
    Change smtp SMTP server. CLEonline.com
For the outgoing (SMTP) mail, start with 25, if no go, try 587, 465.

  • Satellite P200-10O: can't send emails using Windows Vista Mail

    If anyone can help.

I have a Satellite P200-10O, with Vista installed. In Win Mail I have configured my email as usual accounts.

When i open Win Mail I can click on send and receive and he's looking for new messages, this can be repeated as often as you like. However, when I create a new message and click send it to stop working. The message is placed in the Outbox, if I open the Outbox and click on send, nothing happens, after awhile of trying every thing is blocked. If I then close the program and re open it will send the message but then sometimes send it and receive does not until you close and re open. Also message counters do not update.

I tried everything I can think of, Vista, ISP, Toshiba forum. So far, no joy even if I'll get back in touch with Toshiba again. Message is configured to send immediately.

No virus or firewall is used.

    See you soon

    Hi guys

I think you should take a look at this Forum topic:

It is not a beautiful link to FAQ from Toshiba on the question paper + the will of Windows Mail Send or Receive emails.

In addition, you should take a look at the support site for Microsoft Mail.

I can't send emails with windows mail. I must go to Tiscali for now to do so. I went through the troubleshooting help, but I'm still not able to send an email. I can receive only. Error messages that are raised are - Socket - 10060 and error Error - 0x800CCC0E. Can anyone help.

    Hello!

    Thanks for the post.

This isn't the exact error message, PS paste the entire error message, but this does not mean that we have no idea.

This above error message is perhaps due to Norton, I say Norton because I saw it with Norton. Quite possible that you use another Antivirus/Firewall. Try to disable the firewall/AV & see if this work. Alternatively, try to uninstall the security software & then give it a shot.

Hope it would help, do not hesitate to come back with the exact error code.

  • Why, when I send an email using windows mail (RoadRunner ISP) sometimes it does not transmit the image that are in the original.

Why, when I send an email using windows mail (RoadRunner ISP) sometimes it does not transmit the image that are in the original.

Some messages are not complying with the standards of the Internet and the images do not show before their delivery.  You can overcome this by transmitting the message as an attachment instead, and then the images will be intact.

  • Unable to send email in Windows Mail - error 0x800CCC0D

When I try to send email from windows mail I'm notified of next error number: 0x800CCC0D. There is also something about the error socket 11003

[Previous title: unable to send email in Windows Live Mail - error 0x800CCC0D code]

There is also something about the error socket 11003

What does 'something on 11003 socket error' mean? It would be much better if you posted the error message full so we don't have to guess what he says.

Error 0x800CCC0D means that the server is not found. Error 11003 socket is usually a DNS error: the name of the specified server does not exist or cannot be translated into an IP address. Given that you don't tell us which server is involved, it's impossible to think what you need to enter to the place.

It is quite sure, however, that changing the settings of the server will not help if the server is not found. Juggle with the firewall is dangerous and will not help in this case either. Nor the removal and replacement of the account, except if you find out what server to use name and who enter when add you the account. You could just as easily do this without deleting the account first.

So - please report it the full error message. Compose a new message of test with a single topic and send it to yourself. When you see the error message, click it to select it, and then use a right click to copy and paste it in your response here.

  • I can't send e-mail messages using Windows Mail with Vista.

Get an error message "connection to server failed..., 10060 socket error, error #0X800CCOE.»  Messages can be sent , however using the ability of web myqwest.com.  Messages can be received with the Windows Mail & myqwest.com.  Windows Mail is the Version 6.0.6000.16386.  Have been in contact with representatives of tech Qwest to convert the treatment of live.com to mail myqwest.com.

Started having problems sending e-mail messages 3 days ago, so I first worked with Qwest representatives to change outgoing port from 25 to 587, account of "pop3.live.com" to "mail.q.com", etc.  Until messages have been sent and received successfully by using qwest and MS Mail.

Ok. First look at these two links and see if your settings match exactly.

Another thing that can cause this specific error is analysis even if she worked for years of e-mail messages.

Disable analysis in your e-mail anti-virus program.
