Can't send or receive
Direct mail has worked well in recent years with Win 7. I opened it the other day and all my emails have disappeared and I could not send or receive. Went to accounts, and enter my account information such as if to create a new account and hop, I got all my emails from comcast. However I still couldn't send or receive. I deleted the account and put up again. And Yes, even once, I received all my email from comcast, but once again could not send or receive. Anyone have any ideas?

To better help you, could you please confirm two things:
- Have you received an error code or message?
- What version of Windows Live Mail do you use?
I suggest you follow the steps below to uninstall windows live mail and check if allows it.
1. click on start .
2. go in Control Panel .
3. click on uninstall a program from .
4. double click on Windows Essentials.
5. Select repair all of the essential Windows programs.
6 restart your computer to update the changes.

We went from DSL to FIOS. As a result, I received a new email address, but arranged with Verizon to use my original lequipetv.fr e-mail address. I had no access to mail the original account for several weeks after the conversion to FIOS. For some reason, at that time, that I've updated Thunderbird, the original e-mail address and the password were no longer recognized by Verizon. After working with them, they were able to restore access. But then, later that day, I was unable to open a session. Back to Verizon... went through the same procedure and got things restored again. It has been a few days now. If all goes well, it will continue to do so indefinitely.

I just got a new laptop which uses windows 8. I downloaded the Skype for desktop PC (because I really don't like it). I can sign in very well, see my contacts, etc., but I can't send or receive messages.
When I receive a new message, I get small pop window in the lower right corner, but when I go to Skype, it shows not all new messages.
Anyone got any ideas?
Change the time after you have received or sent messages when the weather was bad won't solve anything. The only thing you can do now is erase all old chat history and start to charge.
If you are able to manage a SQLite database editor, you can also try to fix the time stamp of the misplaced messages.

I can't send or receive or delete in outlook express and there are messages stuck in the Outbox that sends everytime I open outlook. It keeps telling me to restart outlook which I did several times but nothing changes.
Go to file | Work offline in OE (or do it in Internet Explorer if you cannot in OE). Then go to file | Identities and setup a new identity. Make sure you have no set antivirus to scan e-mail (see www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3). Then add your e-mail account in the new identity and when it works well, use file | Import | Messages to bring them from the old identity.

Well, took me a few hours and without the help of a person (TIP!), I've fixed it. Remove the live mail client account and re-apply / restore the account. Solves what seems to be a sync error. -19 October 2011

Having two computers laptops, wifi, windows7, and ie8. Your laptop, send and receive. Calendar and contacts works perfectly. Second computer, when you attempt to read emails via messenger or ie8, I get the above message, also calendar is not updated. If I connect directly to hotmail, bypassing ie8 and Messenger, everything is there, I guess it's a timing issue. Would appreciate any help. (worked fine until about 3 months ago)

Outlook Express problems
I can't send or receive e-mails via Outlook Express.
I can access through my ISP webmail.
In short and in laymans terms (I'm not a tech wiz) the automatic link between my ISP and Outlook Express does not work.
I also lost all my emails in the Inbox.
I run a Windows XP Home Edition.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Search for interference antivirus (see www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3). Then go to file | Identities and establish a new identity. Add your email account and see if it works very well. If so, you can go to file | Import | Messages to bring them from the old identity.
Then, if you lost messages, check the trash and the message of the old identity store bak files that are backups of dbx files that you can retrieve (see point 2 on the page above). If there is no bak file, then my DBXpress program (www.oehelp.com/DBXpress/) has an excerpt from disc feature that will analyze the entire hard drive for messages and if they are still there, it will recover them.
