  It won't be Windows 8 drivers for this printer. You can try this, it may or may not work.

  First run, delete print jobs to eliminate any print job stuck in the queue.

  Unplug the printer.

  Download and run the patch (cleaning printer utility) until it prompts you to restart your computer.

  Restart your computer. Make sure that the printer is deleted. Deleting Manual printer driver

  Dell is not a Windows 7 driver for this printer.  The closest thing they have is a driver for Vista 32 bit.  So your options are to (1) Download 32-bit Vista driver and try to install in compatibility mode, (2) use XP Mode if you have the professional or Enterprise version of Windows 7 Ultimate, (3) buy another printer.

I installed the printer driver before connecting the printer, and I use Avira antiviral software. This laptop has had problems in the past, but I don't want to give up on this.
