Can Thunderbird import emails and folders from AOL?

I still use AOL Desktop 9.6 on windows XP. I would use Thunderbird instead, but it will be my "registered PC" in several cases, 'Old' and 'emails sent? I experienced on a Mac with Apple Mail.app and found that it imported automatically all the old emails and sent to a Comcast account that had never been used with the webmail. My AOL emails could be imported from my PC or AOL servers. I really want to get rid of the AOL desktop software, as often, he runs several instances Aolsoftware.exe process and slows down the computer. Thank you.

In your account email aol Web, accessible via a browser, you will need to select "Reference of IMAP" to activate it.

With IMAP, you can choose to sign up to see the folders already on the server.
In Thunderbird
Right-click on the Inbox folder, and then select 'Subscribe' to see the list.

Also, you can synchronize folders subscribed.
