CAN trigger frames

I have a simple problem, but I do not know how to solve. I need to wait in a loop until I get a specific CAN frame of the unit I tested. The framework has no field data, so I can't specify a signal name. I tried to use playback XNET 'Frame CAN' and I used the size of the results matrix as a stop for the whole loop. I thought that, if no image has come that size would be void and if a frame arrived it would be 1. However, it still gives a size of 1, regardless of the question of whether or not the frame arrives. The help text speaks of trigger signals and the feature sounds exactly what I want but I don't understand how to use it. It shows: trigger:. that the name of signal, but not alpha numeric characters are not allowed in a signal name.

Any help appreciated.

Thank you

Andy

Andy,

You can get more information by posting on the forum automotive and embedded networks . In addition, you can loop through the incoming frames, perform a comparison on the ID payload and arbitration to stop the while loop when a CAN frame is on the bus.

Thank you

Thus, control triggers in CH all streaming a game via OBS (like having your character in the corner and your fullscreen game)? To control triggers CH I believe that enforcement must be active, so I couldn't choose another app/game on PC and press keys to trigger (if I CH running and switch to Photoshop, for example, keyboard triggers will not currently work). But I have not personally tried something like this yet - there must be some sort of solution (2 computers?). I know that we're working on more ways to feed and export your character alive in future versions, so ideally this workflow can be easier on the road.

  • I can trigger a flash remotely from the EOS Utility?

Hello. I am a total newbie, so forgive me if my question is very basic or confused.

I just bought a Rebel T5i (literally, my first ever buy SLR) and have been using the EOS utility to be able to "live view" on my desktop screen. It seems to work pretty well.

However, I am interested with the addition of a flash remotely as a Speedlite flash, to be placed between the subject and background. Will be a remote flash correctly from live view EOS Utility work? Should it be a Speedlite flash, or can it be a third flash?

I'm not too considered with flash quality as much as I just want to be able to take pictures with the EOS Utility live view, with the remote flash fires to light a backdrop behind the subject.

    Thank you!

As Ernie points out... the computer simply tells the camera when taking the shot.  If the camera has a flash, then the camera fires the flash when he takes this one.

But your question is loaded with some nuances and it is not just a direct response.

A Canon T5i has the ability to fire distance a Canon speedlite if three conditions are met:

    (1) the flash must support E - TTL

    (2) the flash must support E - TTL mode 'slave' (and that the mode must be enabled - it will not be enabled by default.)

    (3) flash must be direct "corridor" between the camera and remotely.

The camera itself needs to be said that it is in a mode where the flash pop up on the device will work as a 'master' to trigger a remote flash.

But you mentioned that you wanted to put this flash to distance between a subject and the context - which implies that 'line of sight' is not possible.  Who calls other WIRING.

You can learn a lot about flash systems Canon E - TTL of the "Manual of the Speedlighter" (by Syl Arena), but this book has not been updated (as far as I know) to include systems flash triggered by Canon's new radio.

To do this with the Canon gear, you want a transmitter of radio ST-E3-RT (which amounts to the hoof as a flash camera) and then use a flash Canon Speedlight with a suffix 'RT' such as flash 600EX-RT (flash light) or the new 430EX III - RT.  All products of "RT" communicate by radio and do not require a line of sight direct.

It is also possible to do with budget gear..., you can get a pair of transceivers trigger... we're going on the device and the other goes hand in hand with the remote flash.  These radio triggers are not "E - TTL", which means that the camera and the flash will not be able to communicate and negotiate the amount of energy must be used for shooting "on the fly" (as can an E - TTL flash).  This means that you will need to manually set the power level you want to use.

Having to use manual flash should not be terribly difficult to learn.  The flash and the camera usually automatically set your power level, as it would for E - TTL flashes.  You control the light, by adjusting the power level of the flash (manually) or by moving the flash closer or away from your topic (or using the flash light modifiers) more, or by adjusting the opening of the camera.

This works well in a situation of type 'studio', where you can control the power settings.  But for photography of the 'event' where you have to shoot on-the-fly and you "-over" If rush you the shot, you have to learn the flash behavior before the shooting. For me, it means creating a table which indicates (for any given on the flash power level) f-stop, should I use any flash-to-subject distance given.  I used usually non-zooms at this time, but I knew that, for example, a shot of 'dance' a couple of size - up to (what we call a "half coup" because we have only half upper body of our subject) was f/16 at ISO 100.  A length of 3/4 shot (essentially from the knees upwards) was f/11.  A shot of 'length' was f/8, and a group shot can be f/5.6 or even f/4.

It necessary to the good days past tests and completing such a table.  You won't have the time to refer to such a table, but I mentally memorized by distance because the subject framing was a good consistent indicator of distance.  (it is a bit more complicated with zooms because you can change the subject framing without changing the distance).   But in the end, you find yourself in a situation where you go back to a subject at a demonstration, the frame of the shooting, set the aperture value and capture the image and know that you nailed the exposure even if the whole system is manual.

There are a lot of tutorials on the use of the manual of flash and inexpensive triggers to the Strobist blog (strobist.blogspot.com).

I use the Canon system.  I use the Canon ST-E3-RT trigger a few flashes 600EX-RT.  The system is rock solid... it always works.

  • Using the library of Conversion CAN channel frame with arxml-files?

We use LabVIEW and the library of Conversion CAN frame channel to measure and display the CAN the .dbc file-based channels.

Now the OEM changed the file format of .dbc to AUTOSAR XML (.arxml) and we will not have a .dbc file.

Is it possible to read files in NI-CAN .arxml or convert format .dbc?

    Hi Ludwig72,

Unfortunately the NI-CAN just supports the .dbc and .nbc files. If you convert the .dbc .arxml, this should work, or if there is no option to switch to the NOR-XNET driver, it would be possible to import .xml files.

Just in case you have this ability, here is the link to the latest version of the driver NOR-XNET:

    http://Joule.NI.com/nidu/CDs/view/p/ID/3757/lang/de

You should check, if your hardware, software and operating system is supported by this version in the manuals.

  • I can trigger the MGP dial from Java?

    Hello
The PGM can call processes only run jobs mobile server or is there a way to trigger Java or PLSQL? I would like a new message to run just off a piece of java code that modifies the database instead of having to wait for the next cycle MGP. Is it possible somehow?

    Kind regards
    André

You can define a process of MGP as described above with the help of another post, but a single CHM process can run at a time any and will treat all users, so if the need occurs while a Mackenzie gas project runs, nothing will happen.

If you want to do because of some updates batch on specific tables, you can watch using publication of basic queue elements that work in real time and are not person dependent on the process of the Mackenzie gas project. However, it can be difficult to mix them with elements of normal fast refresh if there are no dependencies, but the treatment is completely under your control.

  • I can trigger more than 1 feature?

I need to trigger 4 different functions when I move the mouse on a movieclip; what I should use 4 listeners or can I use only to call the 4 functions?

    Now I do

    movieclip.addEventListener (MouseEvent.MOUSE.OVER, function1);

    movieclip.addEventListener (MouseEvent.MOUSE.OVER, function2);

    movieclip.addEventListener (MouseEvent.MOUSE.OVER, function3);

    movieclip.addEventListener (MouseEvent.MOUSE.OVER, function4);

    Is this the only way?

You can do this, or you could be a little more efficient and have a single listener and have its function to call other functions.

  • I can trigger a click of the button effect?

I love the new effects available in Captivate 9. I have a question though - I creates a type of "Gamified' slide and I want learners to click a button, and then the effect starts. In the effect controls panel, I see a menu drop down called trigger Animation, but there the value '(Self) time based animation' and I do not see a way to change this. Any help would be so appreciated. Thank you.

You have 3 ways to start an effect:

    1. Time base
    2. During the click on an interactive object as a button (form)
    3. By advanced/shared action

Take a look at the film in my first article in the review of Captivate 9:

Play with Captivate 9 - Captivate blog

Custom curve motion effects are applied by shared action, in the same action that displays a status of the central button. There are much more possibilities with these actions just by clicking a button. But if you want to use just one button: you will see in the drop-down list for the successful event of a button 'apply the effect '. If you choose this command, you will be able to indicate which object the effect has to apply and implement to that effect.

BTW the effects are not new, except for the curves of the queries and the scribble effect. The workflow has been improved a lot. About 4 years ago, I wrote this article:

  • You can trigger through communication Modbus TCP/IP PLC data acquisition without using a loop for?

    Hello

I am trying to contact a facility through a Modbus TCP/IP communication PLC. I'm new to this method, but the idea is that the installation will send the logical (Boolean) values 1 bit by ethernet to my workstation which read and then will begin data acquisition. Basically, I need a triger to come to my pc. I placed my vi inside a structure case T/F which will run according to the signal, it receives data acquisition. However, for it constantly waiting, I put this in a loop for. The works of vi, but playback signals sometimes lagging behind due to the loop for. If I take the loop out and just run labview permanently, it works perfectly, but I know that the option is only for debugging and should not be used. So my question is, is there a better way to wait for an incoming signal?

    Hello!

Please note that the order of execution of the write operations on the shared variable 000002 is not determined.

For example, nothing prevents this order of execution:

    (1) value false 000002

    (2) set to true 000002

    (3) execution of the loop

In what concerns the delay, you might consider placing a waiting vi in the case of 'false', or the loop uses 100% of CPU if I'm not mistaken...

  • XNET read frame CAN

    Hello

I use Veristand 2011 and I worte a device custom for the reading of the electronic can over reading XNET CAN frame

now my problem is, who is unable to retrieve the CAN-Messages.

I could install my custom device CAN-Frame, but there is no information can.

On the other hand, I've defined a XNET Session on exploring system with CAN1. That would be the problem?

    Or maybe my RT pilot?

    Help, please.

    Hello

your device does not work correctly. and I can see frames. I made the following changes:

It is possible that you have seen the error image. But you have several frames on the Bus. This means that you must write all the frames in the RT FIFO. I would recommend to use XNET Read RAW Frame. It is an array of U8 you can better manage that work with groups and so on.

  • How to transmit frames CAN cyclically inside a loop obey the emission data informed BCD?

    Hi all!

I don't know if I don't completely understand the behavior of the situation below. I use LabVIEW 2014 and PXI-8513 card under Windows.

    NOR-XNET help reading I understood:

Cyclical data : the data frame transmitted cyclically (periodical). The period is defined in the "transmission data" field in the properties BOX of the framework in the DBC file.

But how the transmission time can obey informed transmission data in DBC file if I call the XNET write VI in a loop with a waiting inside? I don't know if I fully understand how it works in a while loop.

I watch the program below, how writing would behave?

While the loop contains a "wait until the next multiple ms" 100 and the signal selected database (dbc) has a transmission time of 0.02 s (20ms), how many times would the framework passed in the first loop?

If your answer is "Although the time of transmitting the frame is 0.02 s in this case writing is written only once", I have another question: How can I keep a loop writing frames obeying the time of transmission of the image of the CBD? Consider that I have signals selected different frameworks at different times to transmit.

    Thanks in advance!

When you use the XNET write Point with Single mode, it updates the value that will be transmitted according to the schedule specified in the XNET (DBC file) database. If you call multiple entries before the frame was transmitted, only the last value written shuts down during the NPC.

If you look in the help file XNET under the API OR-XNET for LabVIEW-> Sessions-> Modes of Session, you will find information, including an example of how it works.

In your example - if you have a timing loop of 100ms, but your message cyclic time is 1s, then will send you only the last value of 'editorial' more message cycle time. If your timing loop is 100ms, but your message time is 10ms, so you pass the value even 10 times (about... windows calendar and all that).

In essence, you CAN transmitting frame continues to run in the background according to the time where you specified in the DBC file, but you can then update the values which are transmitted asynchronously using the single-point VI write.

If you want to check the values passed are updated every time - you must use the stream or queue mode and your frames to the output of the buffer. That, or you must use a RT target that can update the data in a deterministic way.

  • Is it possible to a thumbnail of the slide show as a trigger of the composition of the layer so they both can be clicked on at the same time?

I have a thumbnail of a slideshow in layers under a trigger of a composition. I have the opacity of the thumbnail defined at 0% so it looks nice and clean. I wish it works so that a user can click on the trigger and the tile at the same time. Is it possible through coding? Adobe told me that Muse can do by nature.

    Thank you!

    Conor

No, it is not possible to click on two things at once. Custom javascript using you could trigger two events with a single click but with HTML/CSS, you can trigger only one.
