Can Vista - I save the updates already installed for the reinstallation of Vista?

I want to completely reinstall my computer - destructive recovery or something, I think it is called. Can I record the existing updates on a disc or flash drive, so I have to download all over again? There are about 600 MB of them, so I wouldn't have to download them again.

PS - I've just seen that it is a forum for Win 7? I'm on Vista, not Win 7. Thank you.

Agios

    I always install the update to my Windows vista through the automatic update system, but recently I encounters an error code 52D when updated security installed for mircosoft work 8 (KB973636). Please help someone... seem micrsoft don have send to asked but rather as a forum here... Please... wat to do...

    Steve,
    You have Microsoft Works 8 installed and you use it?  If this isn't a program you are using or you thought it had been uninstalled and then run The Windows Installer Cleanup utility and see if you are able to completely remove the work.  This would then cause the update will not be presented.   Mike - Engineer Support Microsoft Answers

  • Recently, I did the update of security and had 17 updates to install for Windows Vista Home Premium SP2.

    Recently, I did the update of security and had 17 updates installed.  After installation I closed the computer for the day.  The next time that I started it upward, I received a stop error message 0x81ecbe79 and he started a reboot loop and I kept getting error code 0 x 81 different whenever it restarted.  The first 4 digits are the same with the rest changing with the exception of the 79 at the end.  So far he has done about 30 times until I finally stopped him frustration.  Also sometimes it would ask if I wanted to check on the web for a fix, but he continued the loop.  The loop stops at different places during the boot sequence.  Once he got almost completely before it restarts and a couple of times, it was in the screen of welcome and rebooted.  Is there a fix or do I have to do a clean install?  The way it is now I'm not sure that I can make a back up of my wife's Family Tree Maker files and get it all.

    1. try to restore the system and if necessary a startup repair.

    2. data recovery.

    3. where questions of Windows updates.

    1.

    Restore point:

    Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

    Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

    Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    If restore work not and you do not have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:
    Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.
    When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.
    Link above shows what the process looks like and a manual, it load the repair options.
    NeoSmart containing the content of the Windows Vista DVD 'Recovery Centre', as we refer to him. It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and is just a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, we could re-create this installation with downloadable media media freely from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK, several gigabyte download); but it is pretty darn decent of Microsoft to present Windows users who might not be able to create such a thing on their own.
    Read all the info on the website on how to create and use it.
    2.
    Data recovery:
    1. slave of your hard drive in another computer and read/save your data out there.
    2. put your Hard drive in a USB hard drive case, plug it into another computer and read/save from there.
    3 Alternatively, use Knoppix Live CD to recover data:
    http://www.Knopper.NET/Knoppix/index-en.html
    Download/save the file Knoppix Live CD ISO above.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    http://isorecorder.alexfeinman.com/isorecorder.htm

    Download the Vista software from the link above.

    After installing above ISO burning software, right click on the Knoppix ISO file > copy the Image to a CD.

    Knoppix is not installed on your PC; use only the resources of your PC, RAM, graphics etc.

    Change the boot order in YOUR computer/laptop to the CD/DVD Drive 1st in the boot order.

    Plug a Flash Drive/Memory Stick, BOOT with the Live CD, and you should be able to read the hard drive.

    When the desktop loads, you will see at least two drive hard icons on the desktop (one for your hard drive) and one for the USB key.

    Click on the icons of hard drive to open and to understand which drive is which.

    Click the icon for the USB drive and click on "Actions > Change the read/write mode" so you can write to disk (it is read-only by default for security reasons).

    Now to find the files you want to back up, just drag and drop them on the USB. When you're done, shut down the system and remove the USB key.

  • What allows updates already installed software to install with out always have to have connection IT people

    I'm not an administrator in a company, just a user and I tired to see popups to update Adobe, Java and other software that is installed on this system that I can't do anything about.

    Is there a way to enable updates of software already installed to install with out always have to have people as administrator login? as at the end of the day when windows push through an update to the stop?

    original title: automatic updates

    Adobe has a check box to enable the automatic update in the window of the first or the second update.

    In the settings of Windows updates, you can set Windows updates to allow all users to install updates Windows and install to automatically when they are available.  You can also set it to just warn you when updates are available so that you can download and install it at a convenient time.

    Java has some settings, but I cannot verify this machine because I have not installed.  Check this program, C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\bin\javacpl.exe to the Java updates whenever you want.

    Try right click on the shortcut to the program, javacpl.exe and option by selecting "Run as Administrator"?  Perform, even if your user name is an administrator.  You should see if all is well then the tab Update and various parameters to play with.

  • Can I stop a downloaded update to install when I shut down my computer?

    My setting of update "Download updates but let me choose whether to install" I want to keep it this way. Lately, I noticed that when I click Start, stop, there is a small yellow exclamation point or shield on the close button and when you hoover over closed, he says that Windows will install the updates and then stop. It doesn't give you a choice.
    Is it possible to stop without having to install the update until you know what the update is all about, that might not be immediately. Can go you to Windows Update and hide the update, that would be a pain in the neck, if there is more than one?
    Or is it somehow a way to get rid of this or these until you are able to check and see what the update or updates are on?

    Thank you

  • How can I access save the image under > layers Photoshop?

    I would like to export an image without using the rendering (I want to keep my intact cancellation).

    I have a path set in the script and I would like to have an image saved in a location without any menu automatically arising.

    Using the command "Save as image > layers Photoshop" would be ideal.  However I'm not finding any information on "save image under" or "Photoshop layers" in the documentation.

    It would be surprising if someone had all know about that.

    Hi, Susan.  Sorry to interrupt you in this thread, but:

    1. I went through all the screens to get assistance from the Web site for a similar problem and it says that I need to cough-up $239.

    2. the fix that I have a problem is KB2707511.  It installed fine everywhere but on this domain controller.  Said it was successful, but retains his return regardless of whether if I use WSUS 3.0 or Windows Update or manual install the hotfix. It doesn't matter whether I'm in safe mode.  I ran the fix - it for these types of programs in normal mode and "intensive."  It does not help.  In fact, I did all the steps mentioned in 910339.  All other patches are very good (just a patch on this server).

    OS = Windows Server 2003 Standard SP2 (32-bit) with all patches (including this one).  I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, too.

    There are another two or three son there, on this issue.  A "seems" have been fixed by the fix - it.  Others, no.  I have logs.

  • How can I put my Yahoo toolbar already installed since my browser IE from my FireFox browser?

    Before my Firefox browser, I used IE8 for quite awhile. I have a toolbar for Yahoo, installed in my system already my setup initial home page in Internet Explorer. Now, I use Yahoo as one of my homepages in Firefox and would like to have available Yahoo toolbar when I connect to my browser. I know how to import my bookmarks/favorites from other browsers, I already did. Move the Yahoo toolbar that is suited to my way, my old IE8 browser to my new FF browser? I don't want to re - install, once again, if I have to. All of my favorite/buttons links are set up CNN News, You Tube, etc.

    Cannot move the Yahoo of IE to Firefox toolbar, they differ totally 'behind the scenes '. However you can install, http://us.toolbar.yahoo.com/ , and I think that if you sign in with your Yahoo account, it syncs your data.
