  • Problem with VeriStand deployment on cRIO-9074

    Hi all

I'm playing with VeriStand 2010 and my cRIO-9074. I'm just trying to deploy a very simple application of VeriStand on the cRIO, but I can't get VeriStand to connect properly to the cRIO. I get error 63. Would it be a problem that the cRIO is configured using LabVIEW 2009 and I use VeriStand 2010? Glancing at the MAX software on the cRIO contained NOR-RIO 3.4.0 (minimal) that contains time LabVIEW Real 9.0.1.

    Any other ideas?

In the Add/Remove programs for your cRIO in MAX dialog, you will also need to select custom Setup to see the installation component VeriStand engine.

  • With the help of a data base with VeriStand BOX

    Hello

I use a BMS that communicate via CAN with VeriStand. I imported the database of the device with NI-XNET (with 3 nodes CAN) and I can see some parameters of acquisition under veristand correctly.

But now I want to order a State request and check if the command is well transmitted.

To do this, I sent a node and try to see the information in another node and it does not work.

So is this the proper way to check transmission CAN or is there another way?

    Thank you very much

    Hi Vincent,.

If I understand correctly, what you're doing are a loopback test. It is indeed a good practice for communication. Have you connected your ports CAN directly together? In some cases, depending on the hardware you are using, you may need an external power supply for the transmission CAN occur.

In all cases, you can also check your good communication using the tool called NI XNET Bus monitor.

    Does that answer your question?

  • CAN PXI-8461 with VeriStand using

I have two cards CAN in my chassis: 8512 and a 8461.  The chassis has the latest NI-CAN driver installed and XI-NET 1.0.0.  I can see/access the 8512 without any problem.  I cannot see/do not know how to configure the 8461 for use with VeriStand.  Under MAX, XI-NET does not list the 8461, but I see it in PXI - 1 chassis system.  It don't will not, however, let me do something with it from there.  Any help is appreciated.

The 8461 is map of series 2, which cannot be used with the NI-CAN driver (OR-XNET has no effect at this point).

To begin, start in MAX the NI-CAN by accessing tools configuration tool-> NI - CAN-> RT Hardware Configuration.

Once you have configured the flow rate in bauds, termination, etc etc etc go to System Explorer (SE), add a CAN Port and specify the baud rate according to the settings you selected in MAX. Then import the incoming and outgoing images and you're good to go...

  • Configuration of DIO on compact with Veristand

    Hello

I have a cRIO 9024 with NI 9401 (5 V TTL DIO) card, I created the FPGA (see photo below) code and the XML file to use with Veristand.

The work of compilation and deployment, but I can't change the status of my output on the card.

You could see the little FPGA code and the XML file to help me find the error?

    Concerning

    Cyril

    Hi, thanks for your response.

In fact, I found the problem.

In the properties of the project in labview, the OID map 0:3 has not been declared as output.

I was sure it was a problem of XML, but I was wrong.

    Hi Sebastian

I suspect it's because you try to deploy the module to process flow.

The process flow package needs to be deployed - not the module and not the stream itself.

  • Problems VeriStand 2011 RT and SCXI-1540

    Good afternoon

As in the topic, we have problems with our card module SCXI-1540 that we use to acquire a mixed selection of RVDT and resolvers.

Specifically, we have our facility on Veristand 2011 on a target of RT who has a device custom control map SCXI chassis PXI-1050 and the NI PXI-6221 card, everything is fine but every now and then the map 1540 suddenly start showing a rolling measure of angle for resolution programs.

By checking with an oscilloscope, resolvers entries are good, but we notice that when the event occurs, the excitement somehow pass set 5 kHz to 10 kHz and even by the cancellation of the deployment and redeploy the project and verify that the property node DAQmx channel used to set the frequency of excitation is the correct setting of 5 kHz and does not return an error There is no way to get the channel back to 5 kHz, and it remains stuck at 10 kHz. The only way to be able to control the frequency of excitation again is through a power cycle of the RT/chassis.

We checked also by adding debug code in the custom feature event is the channel of sin or cos channel starts showing a rolling measure voltage so our measure of angle begins to roll too.

So far, this behaviour seems to have manifested only with programs of resolution that we mainly tested those and synchronize us excitement between a sin / cos pair.

    Please notify

I just noticed that I never gave a solution for this.

The problem was current flyback to another causing system glitches of EMI on the lines of resolvers somehow mess with map of 1540, which essentially stopped decoding of the resoulvers of entry correctly, I added a Reset custom device close the file and that fixed the not being able to get out of the excitement of 10 Khz on the redeployment. However the final fix was adding flyback diodes to the tokill power system high seeds. So beware of your configuration as module SCXI-1540 cards seems to be sensitive to such events.

  • pxi7852r with labview 2011

    Hello

I have a pxi-7852r and I just installed labview 2011, but labview 2011 says that the device is not installed.  If I go to labview 8.6, he sees the card without problems.  Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

    Hi efriday4455,

You have the NOR-RIO driver installed? You will need version 4.0 to the R with LabVIEW 2011 series map interface, and it must be installed after LabVIEW has been upgraded.

  • CAN communicate with Veristand

    Hello

I use a CRIO9081 with a module CAN 9268. I made a good configuration with detection of MAX module, power module, adding CAN wear under a Veristand project and I have NI-XNET...

Now I want to interact with a sensor using CDN per Veristand, but I am a novice with CAN communication: you know some "user manual" on how to use CAN by Veristand to interact with another material?

    Thank you

    Hi vincentlg,

In order to communicate with an external sensor via CAN, it is likely that you will need to set up a database BOX. You can create this with the OR-XNET database editor that is included with the XNET driver. The data BOX is responsible for converting frames in 'real' values (see: http://www.ni.com/white-paper/2732/en/#toc6). This also means that you can add a frame/signal to VeriStand. In doing so, signal will appear as a channel in the environment in which you can get (or set) the value of the channel in the VeriStand workspace.

You can see that the manufacturer of the external sensor will provide a database or the scale that is required to convert the images into meaningful data. It is very unlikely that this will correspond to the sample database.

Journal of tiara Bus converter allows to take the raw image data and convert it acquisition AFTER meaningful data. You will always need a data BOX to do this.

To sum up: you can acquire data from a database, but you will have the raw images, which may not mean something to you. If you create a database, you will be translated these frameworks of the relevant data.

I hope this helps, but I would like to know if I can clarify anything.

  • Open different files to workspace with VeriStand API

Hello, I have a question about the API VeriStand using LabVIEW. LabView is able to open a specific project of VS; now, I mean VS to open the same project file with a file from another workspace (.nivsscreen) similar like the box below, but with the API:

I want to do this is because I want to open different files, workspace according to the connected equipment.

Is there an API function to do this?

    Thank you, Michael

There is not an API to directly modify the screen workspace or ask running workspace to load a particular screen.

I think going that you can accomplish what you want, leaving to know the definition of deployed system but by program by selecting different workspaces to display via the API. It is a small roundabout and there are a few quirks of cosmetics that I mention below, but it's probably worth a look. I am attaching an example below, you can play.

The main idea is to create a system definition file, and then create several separate project VeriStand files which all related to the same system definition. You can do this in the dialog box create a new project by selecting the tab system definition to use a definition from existing system rather than create a new one. For each project you create, modify the file to corresponding workspace screens for some display you like.

Once you have done this, use execution > Workspace screws to deploy by programming the system definition file. It is important that do you rather than deploy the system through the project definition file, as I'll explain below. Then, you can take advantage of the project API screw for programmically load and close projects, as well as launch and close the workspace for this project. To view a particular workspace, just close the current project (if it is open) and load the project associated with this workspace. Then ask this project to open his window to the workspace.

The key thing to note here is that if a project load and it detects that VeriStand bridge is already linked to its definition of linked system, it will just adopt that opens the connection. In addition, if the project is closed, it will NOT cancel the deployment of this system gateway definition connection, because it doesn't have to deploy it in the first place.

See the example below. Just unzip all the files in the same folder and open the Automator.vi workspace. Make sure VeriStand is open before you run this VI.

Known issues: when you switch workspaces in this example, you are in fact a project of closing and opening another. Therefore, the window began to do can do appear briefly.

  • SSM BIOS deployment ends sometimes fails with error 0 x 642

    Hello

I'm trying to use the SSM software to deploy an update of the BIOS on my HP Folio 9470 m 300 and run to an intermittent problem.  The problem I see is that sometimes, the deployment fails with a dependency error 0 x 642. I was not able to determine a reason for the failure, and the same package deployment works on another laptop.

The only consistency I was able to reproduce, it's that if the installer has failed the first time, it will fail at each time in the particular computer.

I've included a deployment successful and failed log files.  I confirmed that there doesn't seem to be a problem with the help of the incorrect BIOS password, because I put the password to that specified when I created the database deployment and it will still sometimes fail.

Let me know if I can provide any additional information.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  I really want to be able to use this software, because it would make my job managing these laptops much easier.

    Thank you

  • How can I move a XNET database in 2010 VeriStand?

I use VeriStand 2010 and XNET 1.1.1 to test a device that sits on the LINEN.

I need to move my files in the computer, the default location for VeriStand 2010 is different for Windows XP and Windows 7

When I move all my files, including the definition of FLAX (FLA) file, Veristand pop is no longer the project to my target because he is looking for the original location of the DFL.  I tried to delete the old FLA and adding the new location, but VeriStand says "the selected NOR-XNET database is already assigned to another alias or the alias name already exists.", even if the file has been deleted.

So the question is, how do I point VeriStand to the NEW LOCATION for the SAME FILE?

    jnclaker,

If you are using the XNET database editor (start"all programs" National Instruments"NOR-XNET), you can remove the old alias and add the new location.  This is done by clicking on file"Manage aliases in the editor.

  • Deploy on top of running Veristand system definition

I managed to deploy a definition of a RT PXI system.  I then closed the workspace but not a not cancel the deployment.  The definition of system continued to run on the PXI system.  I have changed since my definition of the system and would like to deploy this new file.  However, I can't figure out how to stop the currently running system definition file to enable this.

    Thank you

    Marty

You have a few easy options to do so:

Run the project: you can run a project in the window started to get or by clicking on the run button in the toolbar when you configure the project. Run first will try to connect to targets in the system definition without deploying. If the targets are already running with the same version of system definition, then the project will connect everything simply. However, if the objectives not running a system definition, run a different system definition or run a different version of the system definition, then the project stop targets and force deploy its version before connecting. In your case, because you updated the definition of system on the host computer, the project will stop the target and deploy this version on the top automatically for you.

Deploy the project: you can deploy a project by clicking on configure to open it and then clicking the button deploy in the toolbar. This will force deploy the project on the overall objectives of the RT in the system definition, which makes them first establish some definition of the system they were running before.

In summary, virtually the only option you don't want to try is to Connect, which, unlike an option the deploy, don't try to connect to a target executes the same system definition and never deploy or stop this project.
