Cannot access https secure sites after installation of Netnanny

Use Firefox for years. Then recently installed "net nanny" software and it has changed the security settings on Firefox.

I can't access all the secure https sites regardless of whether net nanny software is even uninstalled.

The following alert occurs on Firefox running...
"Could not initialize component of application security. The most likely cause is problems with the files in the directory of the profile of your application. Please check that this directory has no restriction of read/write and your hard disk is not full or close to full. It is recommended that you exit the application and correct the problem. If you continue to use this session, you may see incorrect application behavior when you access security features. »

Then when you try to access an https site, I get an error as follows:
"Secure connection failed".

An error occurred during a connection to support.mozilla.com.

Cannot connect securely because the SSL protocol has been disabled.

(Error code: ssl_error_ssl_disabled) »

Use SSL 3.0 and use TLS 1.0 are both selected in the "Advanced settings"

I also left a post on the forum of Net nanny however clearly don't have an adequate response when they talk about a setting in their software ("allow secure content") which is already activated anyway with the uninstalled software, however it still does not solve the problem. In fact, I had to use IE to post on this forum.

It clearly provided a message when configuring the net nanny that he changed the security settings when Firefox has been executed for the first time for each user.

I wish I had a solution so I can go back to using Firefox as my default browser and do believe a software application and a well known who, should take a non-functional browser but not another.

    Hello

My friend Tommy has an Acer Aspire 5315 with an Intel Celeron 550 CPU and 1 GB of RAM.  Service Pack 2 for Windows Vista HomeBasic runs.  He got the computer in the United Kingdom but lives now in Australia.
He wants to access his hotmail and facebook messaging, but can't.
The http sites normal http://google.com/ work very well for him.  However, it seems that whenever he tries to use a Web site by using an https connection, it gets a "Internet Explorer cannot display this webpage" or equivalent.
It connects via a Huawei E585 Pocket Wifi device - it connects to wifi then broadcasts a wireless internet connection to his computer.  He gets his internet through Vodafone Australia.  I have a similar device - a keen wireless thus N420.  It can also connect through it.  Its problems occur for both devices.  My internet works fine on my computer using my camera.  Therefore, it is not a problem of modem and is an internal problem to his laptop computer.

All his problems occur in the same way for Internet Explorer, Chrome, and Firefox.  So it isn't a browser-specific problem.
I have disabled the Windows Firewall.  He always gets the error messages.
It is not * seem * to have a firewall installed, even if it was AVG free anti-virus installed.
AVG Vault shows that he has been hit by at least 4 Trojan horses in the past.
His computer is incredibly slow - processing both with the internet.  My internet is too slow, so this is probably due to a bad ISP.

  • Cannot access a Web site using Java Script

Cannot access a Web site using Java Script. I'm not sure what it blocks I use Win 7, Avast free, AntimalwareBytes.
I get a pop up window with
    Name: mcs
    Location: http://myspeedtest02.windstream.net
say "application blocked by security settings, blocking the untrusted application.
I don't know what it blocks, but suspect it is related to the security of Windows.
I think that the Java Applet is blocked, but I would like to run this test of speed from my ISP.  I tried to access the website of Google Chrome and IE, with the same result. Nobody knows what this block and how to unlock it?

This is actually not JavaScript, it's Java.  Despite the name, they are really very very different.

Java itself can be dangerous, especially if it is not a trusted application.  It is my sincere recommendation that you do not continue.

If you want anyway, you can go into your control panel, open the Java settings and set it to allow untrusted applications.

    Hello

-Reset your internet modem by using reset button for the hole small pin and update its software with ISP technology as the traffic to secure Web sites sometimes gets blocked due to the same

-Reset the settings of Internet Explorer by using Internet Options in Control Panel

-Try ping and nslookup sites safe and check if the results are defective or passing.

I had faced the same problem and had to reset the internet modem to get it operational.

  • No access to ACS GUI after installation

    Hi guys,.

I installed successfully 5.4 ACS. However, I can't access web GUI. I created two accounts admin (during installation) and techuser (after installation) and two of them are see refuse and I can connect ACS using the CLI. However, when I'm getting access ACS via web GUI, I get "access is denied. Please contact your administrator to security for assistance. "Also, I don't see user techuser in the output of CLI command show users .

Could you please help me with this question.

    Hi NENO,

I could see from your description, you have created two users of CLI and you are able to connect successfully in the CLI.

But you have not created the GUI users, so it will not login in the GUI with the CLI users.

If we do the password reset, it resets the password acsadmin.

Please log in to the GUI with acsadmin, and then create (System Administration > directors > accounts) admins GUI as 'techuser' or etc..

We can able to connect after the creation of GUI.

    Thank you

    Hi all

As stated above, I am unable to start Lightroom 6 (standalone) after installation. I am able to launch, but I'm stuck on the boot screen (lightroom logo 6) with bezel does not no error. Would be grateful for any help, thank you very much!

Just a suite, I use Windows 7 (x 64). I talk with the cat from adobe and I was told to create a new Administrator windows account and reinstall LR by using this new account.

It worked for me, I am able to successfully access LR 6 using the newly created administrator account. I tried to follow up with another request - I have what patches can implement to my current user account so that I can access LR 6 using that account (and not the new windows user account). Unfortunately, I was told that cat Adobe does not support LR 6 and I am directed to ask my questions here.

    Thanks a lot again!

  • Web searches are redirected to OpenDNS. Cannot access these Web sites.

This problem just started. Whenever I try to load a page (in this case Gamefaqs), I get redirected to this search engine called openDNS, saying that the site is not available. It has a link to the site, and whenever I clicked, it redirects me to this thing OpenDNS.

I tried loading the page with the default browser of chrome on this phone, but also my laptop using firefox and chrome and have not experienced this problem. Yet the problem persists when you try to access the mobile site through firefox.

I have tried clearing the cache, uninstall and reinstalling, yet the problem isn't resolved. I have done a virus scan, thinking it might be some form of malware that is hijacking my search engine. That all comes back clean.

I've never heard of OpenDNS, nor have I allowed it to become my search engine. When I go into the settings of search engine, it does not appear, but he manages to keep hijacking of my searches on google and redirect me sites that work normally.

    Please help me.

Hi SuperRup91, I was able to reproduce this problem on Firefox Mobile on a wi - fi network using OpenDNS. Queries for a single word for non-existent domains + by pressing the arrow go back a page of results of OpenDNS. Typing a search suggestion next to the icon of Google for the word, or by using a query of several given word of Google results. Unless you can change to a different DNS provider, I think you may be stuck with these options.

  • KB976325 update does not connections to internet sites after installation

Update cumulative security for IE 7 for XP, KB976325, is always my IE guarantee so I can't access any websites.  My only solution is to uninstall the update.  I had to change my update settings, so I can choose which updates to install so that it stops the installation.  Can someone tell me why this update won't allow me to access the internet after the installation?  Also, I can't use Firefox because of an update but I can't understand that one.

Error message after you install an update of Windows Internet Explorer from Windows Update or from Microsoft Update: "cannot display the Web page":
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/942818

If not help to tweak the parameters of your third-party firewall, try the following:

    1. disable your antivirus, all modules of Norton (as applicable), a real-time protection provided by an anti-spyware application (with the exception of Windows Defender; includes the Tea Timer of Spybot, AVG AS guard.exe, SpySweeper guards, etc.), disable the third-party firewall AND THEN select Windows Firewall.

NB: Now you're "working without a net": no to ANYTHING else online (e.g., navigation, reading e-mail, chat) except #4 below until your antivirus application has been reactivated!  If you use a free ZA firewall, you may need to uninstall instead of disable.

NOTE: If KB976325 is NOT installed, go to step 4.

2 uninstall 'Security for Windows Internet Explorer 7 (KB976325)' via Add/Remove Programs (make sure the box show updates at the top right) and restart.

    3 d - c #1 above.

    4. go to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com . Select CUSTOM and scan | Install all security critical updates available (e.g. KB976325).  If an update of root certificates is listed in the category of the optional software updates on the left, install it to enjoy greater security of IE7.

5 reboot & make sure everything in #1 above is on again and, if necessary, disable the Windows Firewall and enable (or reinstalling) your third-party firewall.

  • Cannot access local disk c after the healing of the bone!

I recently did a system recovery using the CD provided by the manufacturer, and after that I could not access my main C: partition directly, although I could type the address of a folder in C: into the address such as "C:\Program Files\" bar and access it normally but when I double click the icon in my computer I get an error that says "C:\ is not accessible. Access is denied. " This problem occurs during the installation of programs which need to install files in C:, they may not install correctly and so I can not install any programs until I have a solution for this.

-I am an administrator on the computer if it matters.

    Hello mohamed090909,

Thanks for posting your question on the Microsoft answers Forum.

I'll first see if you have a system restore point to restore from before you couldn't access C:\.
Use the following steps from the article below:
936212 KB - how to repair the operating system and how to restore the configuration of the operating system to an earlier point in time in Windows Vista
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/936212

If you do not have a restore point available system, then look at the permissions at the root of C:\. You will have to take possession of the root and all
records and then possibly to set permissions to read all files.
It is a good tutorial for the ownership and file permissions.
    http://www.vista4beginners.com/change-permissions-take-ownership

Go to your C:\ drive and check the security permissions.

System and administrators: to allow for the following permissions:
    Change
    Read & Execute
    Content of the file
    Read
    To write

Users: To allow for the following permissions
    Loan & run
    Content of the file
    Read

    Authenticated users - special permissions

Note that when you take possession of the files you need to disconnect then
log on or restart the computer before you can modify the permissions.

You could also do a upgrade in place to repair the operating system, but you don't need an installation DVD disc and not an OEM recovery disk.

If please reply back and let us know if it helped to solve your problem or if you still need help.

    Sincerely,
    Marilyn
