How a person is new issues added to the Media Center for Windows 7. I wish that programs of Science Fiction (Scifi) added to the section 'Internet Tv and English' Media Center. Thank you.

Unfortunately, this is between the owners of content/broadcasters and
Microsoft. There are changes from time to time about what is available, but we
as end users, have no say in what is available at any time. You may want to
at the start of Netflix (there is a free trial version). While doing not part of Media Center.
You can use a web browser to http://www.syfy.com/rewind/ where some shows are
    available (according to).

  • How to download media center for windows 8 version 6.2

I'm very new to windows 8. I learned that I can not play my DVD unless I get a media center download.  I have windows 8 version 6.2, can someone help me? I am an old person and need simple instructions please.

You can only add a Media Center in Windows 8 Pro. If you have Windows 8, you will need to download and install VLC or another player in order to play DVDs. Hope this helps and if you need any other help post and I'll be happy to help you.

  • Add the network location in Windows Media Center for recorded TV

Locations of tv settings, tv, recorder, more Windows Media Center does not outside of the local computer.  I used Media Center to record some TV shows and I want to spend my laptop on USB large network of an old desk for viewing later.   Because I can't point to this place I'm stuck.
The files are on USB key and visible in windows media player and video location in Windows Media Center.  In other words, none of the news of the series is visible in Windows Media Center (but is in windows media player), so I can't continue to record series because Windows Media Center is not aware of the episodes already on USB network.

    Hello Johngi2,
Thank you for your message.  To change the location of your recorded TV shows and always keep the info so that you won't get duplicates please browse to the following location in Media Center.
Settings > TV > TV recordings > TV storage > storage location
You just change the location of storage on your USB.  Please let us know if it did or did not help to solve your problem.

  • 0 x 80070011 when you try to add the Media Center of Windows 8 Pro

I am attempting to add Windows Media Center to my installation of Windows 8 Pro but get an error message saying something with evil.  Looking at the logs, I see that the problem is "DoTransmogrify failed due to error 0 x 80070011" which indicates there is a problem with my user directory is on a drive other than the Windows folder.  Since I have an SSD relatively low to start I moved my user to a much larger hard drive folder.  Should not directory junctions work the same as if the file was on the same drive?  Is there a work around short replacing my user on the c: folder?

    Thank you!

I had a similar problem with window 8 RSAT tools that lead me to this post in my search for a solution. I'm not positive that this will solve your problem but it worked for me. Because the Setup program does not seem as follows symbolic links that point to different disks, I simply said the installer the real location of the profiles it is updated during the installation. Open the registry editor and navigate to:

    HKLM\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList
Change the location of the "Default", 'ProfilesDirectory' and 'Public' StringValues to point to the real target of your users path a symlink on drive c. (IE. "D:\Users\*).
    Run the Media Center Setup
Change back the path in the registry.
(I'm not positive that this is necessary, as you'd still have the symbolic link on your C drive as points that anything using this path to the right folder, I just changed it back to %SystemDrive%\* so that I could test to see if the RSAT tools has always worked without the explicit path used in the registry.)
Good luck. I hope this works.
  • Where can I download Media Center for Windows XP?

    Original title: Media center download?

I know it's possible to use the extension function to be able to watch media on your computer through your xbox to a TV, but where do you find the media center download so that you can start the whole process?

In addition, I'm not interested by the upgrade to Windows 7, including the download site insists on the fact that I have to do, first of all.

You need XP Media Center Edition, or you need to update. There is no download
    Add Media Center to XP.

  • Xbox 360 scan windows media center for the new music?

I just added some new music to my windows media center and the music does not appear on my xbox 360. is there a way to synchronize?

    Hi nwills,

Ideally, the Xbox 360 should automatically scan if new music is added to Windows Media Center. However, you can also manually synchronize as follows.

a: you can connect the Xbox. The Xbox Dashboard, select 'My Xbox', then select 'Windows Media Center' to receive the eight-digit code. This code allows your Xbox to recognize your media player on your computer.

    b. you can set up Windows Media Center on your PC. Click on the "tasks" and select "Add Extender". A screen will appear asking you to enter the eight digit of your Xbox 360 code.

    c. play music on your Xbox. Select 'Windows Media Center' in the menu 'My Xbox' and start playing music.

Hope the helps of information. Please post back and we do know.

  • Repair Windows Media Center for Windows 7

I'm having a problem with Windows Media Center. Whenever I try to open it, it says it has stopped working and he's looking for the problem. Then it does nothing... I can't do a system restore, simply because there is no restore point on the computer. It won't let me download an older version. It's not even in my list of programs. I am running Windows 7 on a computer that came with Vista Home Basic, so it has some difficulties sometimes still. Is there a way I can fix the program? Can someone help me please?

Go to the Control Panel and select programs and features

In the upper-left corner of the window, select turn Windows features on or OFF.

Expand the entry for the multimedia features (select the plus sign (+).)

    Only uncheck Windows Media Center

    Select OK.

    Restart your computer.

Go back and put a check in the box, and then restart your computer.

  • Windows xp Media Center from windows xp media center for windows 7

I have windows xp media center 11.  I need to have windows 7 to be able to configure the USB tv tuner to record/watch tv programs

    Hi Bevtravel,

Windows Media Center on Windows XP, like Windows 7, can use external USB TV Tuner to watch/record TV. Make sure that external USB TV Tuner is compatible with the version of Windows Media Center that you have on your computer (2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, etc.).

Access the link to learn more about recording TV in Media Center.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/Windows-Media-Center/learn-more/record-TV/default.aspx

Besides the link above, you can also access the following link to see what all is possible in Windows XP Media Center against Windows 7.

  • Media Center for Windows 7 Service Pack 1

    Hi people read this,

I would like to help you on how to install the windows once Media Center more on my laptop. I recently had to re - install EVERYTHING on my laptop, including the pilots, and it was such a hassle. I had essentially to wipe it clean due to the negligence of the "technician" at my school who have deleted my recovery partition. While my computer was at full capacity, windows media center, I had and it was great, and now I would like to know how I can re - install it and basically just find the link where I can download it. One last thing, I'm running on a 64 bit OS.

    Hi Angel!

Windows Media Center is included in Windows 7 (NOT available in editions of Windows 7 Starter and Windows 7 Home Basic Edition ).

To activate it please open Control Panel and select programs and features.
On the left pane, click turn Windows features on or off.
Scroll to the multimedia functions and expand the folder. Then check Windows Media Center, and then click ok.

You can also take a look at these links: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/101384-windows-media-center-enable-disable.html
