  The standard specifies:

  I can't set the resolution for external display in clone mode or dual mode.

  Are you sure that the graphics card supports this high resolution!
  If all goes well it s not a material limitation

  But especially if the display resolution is not available the graphics card driver does not support this resolution of the screen.
  In this case only the new driver installation and usage help

  What graphics card is installed on your laptop? Graphic chip Intel?
  If you use an Intel graphics card, then I recommend to visit the Intel page and search for a compatible driver on this page. Some users here in the forum said that the Intel drivers could help choose the preferred resolution.

  I had a contact with HP customer service, and I tried many things. Restart the pc, download the drivers, nothing seems to work. The guy said I had to reinstall windows, and the screen was fine still... Here, there was a simpeler for this solution, but I'm glad that my screen is normal now.

  You're probably not using the correct resolution, IE: you use a display standard aspect ratio when you have a widescreen monitor. This can be corrected in the settings/personalize/display of the Control Panel, adjust the slider to resolution here.

  Your description is not very clear, are the main steps to configure your display:

  -Make sure you have the latest drivers for your graphics card & monitor installed Windows 7 .

  -Search in the manual of your monitor and find out what the native resolution & refresh rate are for example (1920 x 1080 @ 60 Hz), then go to:

  Start-> Control Panel-> display

  and together that view you these settings.

  -If you have black borders around your screen, you should increase the size of your screen through the software installed normally with your graphics card. For a basic card ATI look for a feature called overscan/underscan. Look for the option to increase the size of the desktop in the nVidia Control Panel for nVidia cards. For othe graphics cards check support manual/website for advice.

  Almost all laptops nowadays use the sides of the touchpad for fast scrolling or zooming.  In general, there is an icon in the State system (normally at the bottom right of the screen) bar, which will control.  You can usually change the amount of space is the space reserved for scrolling to the top and turn it off completely.  This functionality is provided by the manufacturer of the laptop, so there is no place you can go to Windows to do this, you may need to consult the documentation for your computer if you do not find the program sitting on the system tray.   My laptop HP dv7 - 4197cl a problem playing blu - ray movies... screen goes black.  When some of the blu ray movies (Green Zone... tried to play 2 drives different blu - ray and "A prophet"), the disc begins to charge to the top and then the screen goes all black.  The disks are new and have no scratches.  Some other blu ray discs will play fine.  I need help.

  I already downloaded the lates bios for my computer and there is no other updates for the HP Media Smart program.  Has anyone else had similar problems?  What can I do else?

  I just downloaded the latest version of HP Media Smart DVD player on HP website and uploaded on my computer.  Once deleted my old program and downloaded the new version, he played very well.  It really sucks that HP did not offer this update on my older version that said that he had no new updates.  Thank you...   According the description, I understand that the mouse icon is not mobile firmly across the screen. I suggest methods and check them off below if it helps:

  1. check your mouse for dirt or debris if you use a wired mouse. To check debris, flip the mouse and twist the casing around the ball. It should run free, allowing you to remove it. Check the mouse cover and the area around the compartment of mice for the forests of dust that can keep the ball from rolling freely.

  2. determine if a recent update is causing your mouse drifting on a laptop. Click on the "Start" menu and open the "Control Panel". Click on "System and Maintenance" and then click "Backup and Restore Center." Select a restore point and to reinstall updates one by one to determine what update causes your cursor problem.

  3. disconnect your mouse if you use a cable one and make sure that your USB port is free of debris. Plug the mouse back and if the problem is resolved.

  4 update your device driver by right-clicking on "My computer", then clicking on "Properties" and then clicking on the tab "Hardware" "Device Manager." Find your mouse driver, right click and select "update driver software".

  -Were there any changes made to the computer before the show?

  If you use Windows Photo Viewer to display pictures on the computer, then try these steps and check.

  a. double click on a photo and click the slide show button.
  b. right-click on the photo and select slideshow speed or slide show average speed.
  c. When finished, close the Windows Photo Viewer and once more open it and check if the problem persists.
