Cannot change the font color on the desktop icons

I am running windows vista. I can't change the font as in windows xp. No matter if the background is dark or the police is always black... Help!

Hello

Thanks for posting the question in Microsoft Answers.

I apologise for the inconvenience.

Unfortunately, you cannot change the font color of desktop.

Because desktop wallpaper images have different colors, it is easy for the colors of unreadable fonts if they are on top of the same color in a background image to display. For example, a black font on top a dark part of the background image or a white font on a white part of a background image.

The desktop icon fonts are dynamic and show white on dark background and change in white with a shadow effect black on a light background.

In previous versions of Windows, it did not matter what color you chose to fund policies, some would still make invisible because of the background color of a desktop wallpaper. The user was constantly moving icons around the desktop computer to another colorful area where the police could be read. This was the source of a large number of complaints from users asking for a policy that was still visible, regardless of the color that was behind the police.

However, you can change the theme and see if that helps:

Screen resolution refers to the clarity of the text and images on your screen. At higher resolutions, items appear sharper. They appear also smaller, so more items adapted to the screen. At lower resolutions, fewer items adapted to the screen, but they are larger and easier to see. At very low resolutions, however, images may have serrated edges.

Anyone now how to fix it?
    Thank you

    Hello

It's definitely a software problem. I guess a virus/Trojan or malware could be the problem. A really useful step would be to you when you give more details on your system, which installed you´ve or what you´ve done (internet, update the driver, etc.) before the problem appeared the first time.
In my view, we will be able to discuss much more better your problem then now.

  • font size change the desktop icons

Suddenly, my desktop icons have the image or the text on them reduced to be very small. The background is always the same size, but the stuff on the icon are almost invisible

Right-click on the icon START, and then select Properties. Click the Customize button. Scroll down to almost the bottom. Put a check mark in the use of large icons.

    Was she?
Second options is to right-click on the desktop and select Personalize. Click on display. By default Windows is the smallest value, but you may have this set of medium-sized or large and an update reset default.
    Hope that helps

  • Problems, change the desktop icons

I have a MacBook Air from mid-2013 & I'm under OS X El Capitan Version 10.11.1.  I wanted to upload a few new icons for my office & final instructions told me to find the folder I wanted to change in the Finder, after downloading (at first I tried ics icons, then NCIS icons) the icons I wanted to use. He explained then click the folder you want to edit and click on 'Get info '.  Then I was to copy the new icon & then go back to the folder in the finder and in the upper left corner was a small blue folder, click on it until he described in blue & then click on paste. Did not work. Now instead of a blue folder, I have an icon White w / the 'preview icon"on it & letters ICO.  If I use an ics icon I get the same thing, but it has JPEG on it. Help, please! • Cannot delete the desktop icon! Driving me crazy

I currently have a Norton Security Scan icon on my sidebar icon list.  I uninstalled the program, I don't know how she even had it installed since I have McAfee and Windows Defender, but the stupid icon won't go away.  I have tried right clicking 'delete', but it says that it cannot find the file, so it will not remove the icon. Help!

The easiest way is to reinstall the program > removes the icon > uninstall the program again.

But you can not reinstall norton, as you now McAfee installed as your AV.

It's updated operating system Vista, upgraded installation and activate Forum.

    1. Click on the start > Panel
    2. Click on options files
    3. In the General tab select the option double-click to open an item.
    4. Click apply and OK.

Check the icons and let us know if this step has helped.

  • Cannot delete the desktop icon: Network Magic?

Running Windows 7 64-bit HP.  Network Magic is installed as a 30 day trial when I've upgraded from Vista to Windows 7 (why I've never waited so long?). I uninstalled by getting in pure Networks/Setup...etc; It's, I think I've done the proper uninstall. However, I can't get rid of his Network Magic Folders icon on my desktop. I can't even move the icon on the desktop. Right click gives: open and create a shortcut.  Selecting open doesn't do nothing, shortened by selecting creates a shortcut on the desktop that can be deleted. Suggestions?

EDIT: Here's an answer essentially the same question (http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7desktop/thread/3a90c945-1072-4bb7-9afc-ec8df2cee03b).  However, I'm not good in the registry to work, I can't go wrong with it as I don't know if the answer is there.

    That did the trick:

    Delete this key...
