Cannot close the Task Manager window

Hello:

I am running Windows Vista 32 bit Home Premium on an HP laptop.

Recently, I started having the following problem.

When I press Ctrl-Alt-Delete , I get a pop-up window displaying a list

current tasks are running.  It's OK.

Sometimes, a task will be "crashes" and must be stopped or deleted.

Now... I am more able to close/exit the Task Manager when I finished.

I have a rectangular box, but no close or [X] button in the Task Manager

upper right corner of the area.  I have to reboot to get rid of.

Any ideas?

Thank you

DaleB

Double click on the border of the box (or the white space next to him) he should do pimples appear

Or right-click on it in the taskbar and close the window

  • How to retrieve the Task Manager window?

I often used TM for different things, and then it was gone!  Now, when I hit Ctrl/alt/delete everything that happens is a grid to use green and black.  I tried various searches, but am still not able to access.  I'd appreciate any help - thanks

    What happens if you select:
    Start-> Run-> "taskmgr".
    ?

There should be a "taskmgr.exe" file in the C:\windows\system32 folder.  If she is not there, try to make a copy of it from another machine to Windows XP, it by copying.

  • Install flash does not do anything and should be used to close the Task Manager.

For a few months now, I tried to update Flash Player, every time I tried I would get the installer to come and it displays black background there bar none download or any text. I thought that the problem could be something to do with the version of Flash installed on my computer already, then I uninstalled the thought if I just installed the latest version, there would be a problem. Now I'm stuck without Flash at all on my computer and the installer still does not. What is the solution to this?

  • Recently, my Task Manager window was more a bar, Minimize/Close. I have to restart my laptop to get rid of him.

I have a HP Pavilion dv6-1030 Notebook PC running Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit. About 2 weeks ago, I noticed that when I go to the Task Manager window, it has more Ribbon to reduce/enlarge/close in the upper right corner of the window. The only way to eliminate the window is to restart my computer. I had several automatic updates that happened during this time from Microsoft (Windows updates) and HP (HP Advisor software). Anyone have any idea why this happened and how to fix it?

Double-click on the top bar of the Task Manager and the will to "Reduce, restore upwards downwards, close" be restored.

Don't forget to close all open window press Alt and F4 keys together.

  • Why are there no end process in the Task Manager tab.

Why are there no end tab process in the Task Manager because it usta be a on windows xp, that makes it eaiser to end a game if you do not want it to start. In addition, some games when you exit out of them sometimes play on words to say (on steam) is currently unavailable. That when I try to log out of steam to get the game to work again, he says "game works must end game before disconnection which is the process you need to put end to which you can't because there is no process tab.

    a. what game you try to play?
    b. did you a software or hardware changes recently?

  • The task manager has started to appear without borders and will not go away, unless the computer is off.

When using the Ctrl-alt-delete option and the Manager tasks appears it seems without borders.  The task manager remains after the programs are all closed and will not go away, unless the computer is off.

It's called mode 'small footprint '.  Double-click anywhere on the border of the Task Manager window and you will get the Menu bar in the rear.
