Cannot connect by Satellite L300 wireless access point

I have a new laptop L300 & I can't connect to the laptop to my wireless access point. I have an another mobile E-sytems with the same hardware Realtek RTL8187B & it connects without problems.

The machine has the free two month Mcafee subscription & I have disabled all the protection incase that was causing the problem. I updated the driver for the wireless card & the bios on the Toshiba site, but nothing is.

Can someone shed light on this problem because the laptop is only two weeks old?

Thank you...

Hello

To connect the laptop to the WLan, it must ensure that everything is enabled and configured correctly.
You should check these points:

-activated the WLan with the WLan switch and the FN + F8
-don t use any 3rd party config tools WLan if you use the WLan configuration options own Vista
-for the first test WLan disable the security settings of the Wlan router
-configure settings to laptop as good SSID and search for your wireless local area network
-After that the laptop is connected to the WLan router, you can turn back the security settings (encryption, mac address filtering, firewall, etc.)

Welcome them

  • Use WAN connected airport Time Capsule as a wireless access point

I had to replace a failed 4 Gen Time Capsule. I tried to install a new Gen 5 airport TimeCapsule via WAN and set up the airport to act as a wireless access point. It is installed in an area of my house with wireless coverage. In the network of AirPort Utility Mode section, I chose "extend a wireless network. The TC is restarted, I get an error message cannot find the intended wireless network.

    What I lack?

"Extend a wireless network" is a parameter that is only used if the time Capsule need to connect to another router from Apple with the help of a Wi-Fi connection.

You use Ethernet to connect, you must use the parameter to "create a wireless network. Use the same wireless network name and the same password as your "primary" router

  • The WRT600N can connect to a wireless access point?

I installed Windows 7 on my desktop and I was not able to install all types of Linksys wireless adapters.  I decided that linking an my WRT600N wireless access point in the other room and hardwireing the office to the access point, would be a good idea.  I'm probably going to connect it to a Net WTG624 Gear, which is capable of acting as an access point and you connect to another router.  The question is, can the WRT600N you connect to and use the internet and the local access and, ultimately, on the Office of cable?  I feel that it is one of the most stupid questions, I ask myself here again, but I'm not sure.

EDIT: I'm sure it's called Wireless Bridge.

    Thank you

    Zach

    Hello Zach,

The WRT600N can connect at the point of access, and vice-versa. I have a WRT600N home and have the same model of NetGear as access point (what are the chances?) and it works fine, although I do miss the 5 GHz as the Access Point is only 2.4 Ghz 802.11 g Standard.

    I hope this helps!

    Thank you.

    Yes.

Routers and switches are different types of network devices.  Routers are "smart".  Switches direct network traffic between computers on a single network, while routers can act as the interface between two networks (for example, the Internet and your Local network). There are many explanatory pages on the Internet about it. Here'sa .

Actually, most "routers" sold for home use today incorporate both a switch and a router (and in the case of "wireless routers" also incorporate a wireless access point). Routers include usually a (NAT ) network address translator, also a DHCP Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (), a proxy of domain name Service (DNS) server, and a hardware firewall to protect the local network from malicious intrusion on the Internet.

Your provider of Internet service through your cable modem, "sees" the WAN port of the router, as a computer (which is) generally configured to automatically obtain its IP address.  The ISP's DHCP server assigns this port the only IP address that is allowed to you.  It is an 'external' or 'public' IP address, and this is the address that other computers elsewhere on the Internet use when they drive traffic to you.

The router's built-in DHCP server assigns 'private' IP addresses for each of the computers connected to TI (no matter if they are connected by wire or wireless).  As a general rule, these are of the form 192.168.1.x or 192.168.0.x, where x goes from 1 to 254.  These IP addresses are not 'seen' by computers on the Internet.  Instead, the feature NAT on the router directs traffic to your public IP address to the correct of your internal computers (and vice versa).

A switch can't do it all.  If your authorized service provider, you can connect to your switch directly to your modem and the ISP's DHCP server assign an IP address publicseparate to each computer connected to the switch.  Because your ISP does not allow more than one public IP address from your account, its DHCP server assigns such address to the first computer he sees connected to the switch.  If several computers are then connected to the switch, the ISP's DHCP server simply ignores them: too bad, computer #2, you do not get an address, and so you can't connect to the Internet.

  • After running Thinkvantage System Update, unable to connect the wireless access point

I've recently performed Thinkvantage System update for updating various programs/drivers on my T61p.  I've updated the V5.12 access connections.  In addition to this I was required to update driver V1.52 power management and functionality of the shortcut key for

V2.10.0002 (two of them were the most recent available).

After these updates, I can connect is no longer to any access point wireless that worked before this update.  I have tried to reinstall earlier versions of Access Connections, but still couldn't connect to wireless access points.

    ANY help would be appreciated.

OK, problem solved.  I found that when I ran last weekend system update downloaded and installed an incorrect driver for my wireless hardware.  I installed the correct driver and now the connection to a wireless access point works.

Certainly, I don't understand how/why not update system would be to download and install an incorrect driver.  VERY FRUSTRANT and TEDIOUS!

  • Windows cannot connect to the printer. Access is denied.

    From: Steve

Desperately, I try to print from my laptop Windows Vista Home Premium to a shared printer on my home wireless network.  The shared printer is connected to a XP Home machine.  This machine is wired (via a LAN cable) to the wireless router.  I can 'see' the printer that I want to use but trying to to connect to it. I get the error message "Windows cannot connect to the printer.  Access is denied. "I would be grateful for any help.

    Kind regards.

    -Steve

    From: Alan Morris [MSFT]

Since the XP machine is HOME, I don't think that the permissions dialog box is accessible.

Run the XP network sharing wizard again and see if it affects safety correctly on sharing.

Is the printer you share one that has drivers provided with Windows XP?

In the meantime we will at least get the printer works for you.

Create a local printer on Windows Vista; Creation of a Local Port in the form \\XPMACHINE\Printsharename (this will send the files by using the redirector instead of the RPC service).  Install the Windows Vista driver for the device.

You can print because print$ access is required for printer drivers.

  • A WRT160N V3 can be used as wireless access point.

I have an AT & T's broadband router.  A WRT160N is connected, so I now have Wireless N capabilities.  I have a second WRT160N I want to put in my living room as a point of access, so I can connect my BluRay player and video stream.  How can I configure the second WRT160N as access point?

    Thank you in advance,

    Andrew

Topic 1. Yes, you can use your second WRT and put in place as a second access point to your network. First of all, unplug the second WRT to your network and wire a computer in one of its LAN ports. Open the web interface at http://192.168.1.1/ on the main configuration page, change the address LAN IP of 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.2 and disable the DHCP server. Save the settings. Unplug the computer and connect the cable to the first router on one of the second router's LAN ports. Do not use the internet port of the second router! Now you can use the wireless access point in the second router as access point additional for your network.

For a wireless roaming the two Wrds with identical wireless settings (SSID, wireless security, etc.) and don't forget to enable the SSID broadcast. Only the channel assignments should be different. Different channels spaced at least 5 avoids duplication of canals. Now your laptop can connect to your network via either WRT and internet through the first WRT. It must also be able to move between the two Wrds without losing the connection.

Re 2. Because the WRT160N has only the ethernet 10/100 ports a CAT5e cable should do. Of course, you can consider getting a better cable, for example a cat6 for future enhancements to your network. It depends on how much effort it is necessary to replace the cable later if you decide to go for gigabit ethernet on your local network.

  • Add Printer__ Windows cannot connect to the printer. Access is denied

Laptops have just loaded with Windows 7 Pro on my domain. Try to load printers to a print server. Print server running Windows 2003 R2.

When I log in with a user profile, I go to devices and printers------click Add a printer-network printer select------I see a list of printers on the print server - choose the printer that I want to load------asked if I have confidence in this printer - click install drver------opens window files Coping - green bar moves as if it were loading drivers------then just before you get to the window asking if you want to make a default printer. open window that says - Connect Add Printer (X RED) for printer Windows cannot connect to the printer. Access is denied

Changes to device settings to allow the user load the drivers. Check the security access (everyone has permissions) for this printer on the print server.

Disable UAC control on the laptop. Group Policy has changed restrictions point and print.

But this same user can log on to another computer on the network, which has loaded XP Pro and can load the same printers that are denied with windows 7 pro

As a network administrator, I can log on to laptop computers and load A B and C printers.

So I can log on as a user and then I can load A B and C printers, but as a user I want printer D I get the same message as above.

Thank you in advace for your help

This is the solution I received and seems to work.

You have to go into the local group policy on Windows 7 computers, and not on the server.

    Go to the Group Policy:

Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Printers\Point and printing Restrictions ss SET TO OFF

User Configuration\Administrative Templates\Printers\Point and printing Restrictions ss SET TO OFF

I just try to run internet with the internal PRO INTEL BG 2200 wireless card.
The driver version is just updated to 9.0.4.39. The problem is, I can't find any wireless access point.

I also use a D-Link card, with this card, I found the available access points. What could be the problem with the INTEL PRO card. I'm sitting right next to the router/hub.

Also, I thought that I might need to activate the wireless with additional keys Fn function, but they do not work, I guess. Maybe I need a driver for this tool also. Do anyone know where I can find drivers to use the Fn keys?

    My system:
    TOSHIBA Tecra
    WINDOWS XP (SP 3)

See also: The INTEL internet LAN works.

    > What could be the problem with the INTEL PRO card. I'm sitting right next to the router/hub.

For me, it seems that the WiFi network is not enabled.
Usually, you need to activate the WLan switch which is placed on the side of the laptop. Then, you'd see an active WLan led.
If you n t see the light, then the WiFi network has not been activated.

In addition, choose the WLAN using FN + F8!
You can also activate the Wlan in Device Manager-> card Wlan-> properties-> Advanced tab.
