  This cable you use is intended for the HDMI to VGA.

  I believe that this will not work. "VGA output only provides analog signals while the HDMI input will only take digital signals.

  Converting cable will not work. It may be possible, but you'll need a Signal trans-codeur that converts the analog signal to digital like this:

  First of all, make sure that you don't have two accounts with the same address. What happens if one of them is an iCloud account.

  Your only option is to do a clean install of Vista.  There is no free, download of the disk.  Contact the manufacturer of the computer and they may be willing to sell you a set of recovery disks to reinstall the system (but you will need 23 digit product key to activate it in all probability even if sometimes it is not necessary when it is made with recovery on the same computer discs).
