Cannot connect to windows xp professional due to a unknown password how do I bypass it?

I recently bought a computer from someone and I can't connect to the computer because I do not know the password. It runs windows xp professional, and how can I work around this?

If you just bought it from someone, why they don't give you the password?

I was wondering. Also it is not allowed in this site to post procedures without using passwords.

This morning, I did a system restore on my Toshiba laptop.  After its complete newspaper in the icon was showing (but not with the image, I placed there) showed my user name under the picture as usual, but when I entered my password I was shown a red x with "the specified procedure is not found" if I type a wrong password it tells me incorrect password.  I tried to set the mode of sale, but it's still ask for my password.

    Help

Google chrome doesn't work so after I tried to restart the computer several times possibility without change, I was trying to restore it to the last update of this week.  In windows, I can't cancel anything.

    I uninstalled then reinstalled Google.

You can certainly cancel things. Here are two methods:

    • Press F8 during startup, and then start the machine in Windows Repair Mode.
    • Use your repair Windows CD to start the machine in Repair Mode.

In both cases, you can run a system restore (which includes an option to undo the last restoration).

When you're done, plan ahead a little and create, test and document a spare, even admin account that you have a spare House key. This will save you a lot of trouble.

  • Cannot connect to Windows Vista due to password problem

I have a Dell XPS computer laptop model PP28L and run Vista Home Premium. When I bought the computer I bought in a pawn shop. Of course it was sold with no records at all. No recovery or restore of Windows disks. I have a valid Microsoft "proof of License'for my Vista Home Premium. Should I be reinstall Windows and if yes how I'd get the disks.

    * original title - cannot connect on Windows Vista Home Premium because someone changed my password, deleted my ID of the administrator and the guest connection. I am in the *.

Your only option is to do a clean install of Vista.  There is no free, download of the disk.  Contact the manufacturer of the computer and they may be willing to sell you a set of recovery disks to reinstall the system (but you will need 23 digit product key to activate it in all probability even if sometimes it is not necessary when it is made with recovery on the same computer discs).

Here is Microsoft's policy on software lost: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/326246 you can see is not much help.

If you can borrow an installation disk of Vista genuine of the same size of the bit of ANYONE, you can use that with your product key to re - install the system and start over (you get a new administrator account and set your own password for him - or to leave empty that you choose).

    I hope this helps.

    Hello

If you have another system then plug your HARD drive as a secondary to another system & copy below the files of this machine.

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\userinit.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exe

Paste these files in the same location in the C drive of the problematic computer.
    Search now for your question.

If it won't, then I suggest you to repair your operating system.

    Hello

References to Vista also apply to Windows 7.

You can try to fix it with Safe Mode - repeatedly press F8 as you bootup. Safe Mode ADMINISTRATOR account has no password by default (unless someone has changed the password so it should be available).

Some programs such as the Google Updater (if you added the toolbar Google, Chrome or Google Earth) has been known to cause this problem.

  • Cannot connect to Windows 7 PC via Wi Fi

    I have a Stor.E TV + 2 TB I've tried everything but can't connect to PC Windows 7.
However, it will connect to a Windows XP OK computer.
    Someone at - it solution

I found that connecting to Windows 7 with WiFi or other is a business blindly. The reason is not clear, but probably because the Toshiba is not properly designed to be discovered by Windows 7. Even computers Windows XP need some software utilities installed to be discovered by Win 7. Often the Toshiba appears at the bottom of the page of the network as a disc that is present but cannot be discovered. Sometimes it will appear under network locations if you pass the Toshiba and the new to reset the IP address. In addition to the usual file sharing settings, the drive must be mapped under 'computer '. Very often when the player does not appear under the 'Network' locations, double click the disc 'Computer' open records even if it does not appear in the sites 'network '. Don't ask me why. I worked around this and other issues such as the inability to copy large files, without interface specified Samba, etc, etc.. I installed the updated software, but other issues have slipped now that I've never had before like files FLAC freeze the player and does not properly (noise spikes). In truth, unfortunately, is a * finish without any support, and should not be on the market. I can't even sell it because it wouldn't be ethical it land on a poor unsuspecting, but hours of frustration to work around these problems, just to be able to use it, is counterproductive. I'll be more careful next time in choosing a provider.

    OS: Windows XP: SP3

I currently have problems to connect to Windows Update. I can't connect to the site at all and is the "this page cannot be displayed" whenever I try to open it. When you try to update Microsoft Security Essentials, I get error 0x80072EFE. I have already reset Windows Update by the fix in default and in aggressive mode with nothing doesn't.

EDIT: I also ran several different viruses, malware, and trojan scanners so I'm probably clean them.

PART A: Applications, (Norton and McAfee) are known to not uninstall (or upgraded) themselves.

    1. download the Norton Removal Tool, save it to your desktop: ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/removal_tools/Norton_Removal_Tool.exe

    2. close all open applications (that is, anything with an icon on the taskbar).

    3. double-click on the file that you saved in #1 above to run the utility. DO TAP not your keyboard until the race ends, then restart.

4 reset the Windows Update components (again), restart & test: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058

  • HP 15 t: cannot connect laptop Windows 8 to SBS 2008

I just got my new HP 15 t and tried to connect it to the network so that the antivirus software, etc can download.

It's our first Windows 8 machine; our network is different from XP and Windows 7. The server is SBS 2008.

When I run the launcher (after http://connect), I get the following message if poster as soon as I clicked on connect:

"This computer does not meet the conditions required to connect to the network.

Before continuing, you must address the following issues:

Configuration of operating system supported not found

To attach your computer to the Windows Small Business Server network using the program of the computer to connect, you must run the operating system Windows XP with SP2 or later, or the Windows Vista operating system. Not all editions of Windows Vista and Windows XP are supported in the Windows SBS netowkr. Windows Vista Business, Windows Vista Enterprise, Windows Vista Ultimate, Windows XP Professional, Windows XP Professional x 64 and Windows XP Tablet Edition are supported on the Windows SBS network. »

But I have connected to Windows 7 computers to the network. And I was told that Windows 8 should be able to connect. So is this something wrong with the configuration of the client computer, or do I need to tweak SBS 2008 so that it can help in this regard?

    EnduringMike wrote:

Well, I've marked this as resolved, but it turns out that it is not.

Once I've upgraded to pro, I run the connect program and now I get the message that it failed because the PC does not meet the system's maximum operating requirements to run client Setup.

It gives a link to check for more information that goes to a page that does not exist at Microsoft.

How many people they have working there at Microsoft? They reach even the link between their software and their Web site correct?

So. I now have Pro 8.1. And still no connect to SBS 2008. Then guess?

    Hi Bobo Rose,

    1. did you of recent changes on the computer?

2 when was the last time it was working fine?

    3. you receive an error message during the system check?

I suggest that you run the CHKDSK utility by using the installation CD of Windows XP, which checks the specified drive and repairs or recovers the drive if the drive requires it. The command also marks bad sectors and recovers readable information.

You will need to access the recovery console to run Chkdsk.

You can use the following options:

CHKDSK /p Performs a comprehensive check of the drive and corrects any errors.
CHKDSK /r Locates bad sectors and recovers readable information.

  • Cannot connect to Windows XP Pro shared printer

I have a XP Pro PC on my home network and trying to connect a Lexmark X 215 printer that is shared out of the XP Pro machine.  I connect with a new laptop Windows Vista Home Premium Dell XPS M1530.  The rest of the network works fine - shared files, folders, Internet access, etc.

You should see a similar directory structure.  If it returns access denied, you need to enable read on the share permissions of $ print XP which is the default configuration.

If you have not run the network configuration wizard XP make sure you run this tool.

Yes, something has changed the security settings on the print sharing $.

Since you're under XP Pro, you can reset it and allow all the world read access.  Do a right click my computer / manage / shared folders / sharing / right click $ Print properties/sharing permissions

Administrators and power users have full access to everything the world group should be there with read access.  I guess that the Everyone group is missing.
