Cannot connect WRT54G2 on printer Canon WiFi

We have bought a Canon MG 3100 printer but am unable to connect.  Have restarted the router but still no joy.  Any suggestions?

You may need a computer to configure the printer for a wireless connection to the network before you can print on your IPHONE / IPAD wireless. Run the installation CD for the printer to one of the computer that is connected to the network. Which should tell you all the things you need to do.

Another thing is to enable Airprint, you must have enabled Airprint printer to print wirelessly on your Apple devices.

A Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition SP2 32-bit computer is a field, the file and print server.

A computer on the domain is a machine of Windows 7 Ultimate 64 - bit with HP DesignJet 500 24 printer connected via USB.  The printer is running the latest firmware.  The PC is running the latest 64-bit drivers with no problems to the host machine printing.  The host also has the latest drivers 32-bit (x 86) installed by downloading by other computers on the network.  The printer is configured to share with the share name of HPDJ500.

Now, on a machine Windows XP Pro SP3 32 bit on the field, I'm trying to connect to the shared printer.  Add a printer > click Next in the wizard of > check "a network printer or a printer attached to another computer" and then click Next > click on "Find a printer in the directory", then click Next > click Find now > HPDJ500 in the list below (the XP machine can see the shared printer on the Windows 7 computer!) and click OK.  At this point, I get an error that says: "Windows cannot connect to the printer.  The name of the printer has been correctly entered, or the specified printer has lost its connection to the server.  For more information, click Help. »

Alternatively, if I right-click on the HPDJ500 printer listed, then click on connect, I get the same error message but I also see a separate window that says "Connecting to HPDJ500 on H2.ws.net" with the lively projector.  This window also disappears as soon as I clear the error message.

Please note that this printer worked perfectly as a printer shared, hosted on a machine XP 32 bit on the field.  It works perfectly for the new Windows 7 64-bit machine, but we cannot connect from anywhere else on the network (including the server which translates the same exact error message).  On the server, I also preinstalled drivers thinking there was a problem with a 32-bit computer, trying to grasp the correct drivers from the host 64-bit Windows 7, but that doesn't change anything.

    How connect to this printer?

Try using the path UNC path of the printer in the Add Printer Wizard.

Add a printer > network printer > connection to this printer ((deuxieme point)

Click next to browse (leave blank, the name field) or type the UNC path of the printer (i.e. \\Computername\Printername) path

    Hello

I have a Windows XP pro (Lenovo) that I recently ran the recovery and returned to certain configurations of 1.5 years. Now I can't add a network printer and get always the message error «Windows cannot connect to the printer or the name of the printer...» ». I ping the printer and all on my network can add these printers, it's just that a machine that fails to add network printers.

I disabled the firewall, but were still unable to add the printer. Then I found some difficulties to register for a similar problem, but they were not useful... It really becomes a big headache, especially Windows restore does not work...

I strongly suspect that 1.5 years, someone has renamed the printer.  Use Windows Explorer to navigate to the print server through My Network Places and see what it's callednow .  Otherwise, you could ask your network/system administrator.  You should know... Desperately, I try to print from my laptop Windows Vista Home Premium to a shared printer on my home wireless network.  The shared printer is connected to a XP Home machine.  This machine is wired (via a LAN cable) to the wireless router.  I can 'see' the printer that I want to use but trying to to connect to it. I get the error message "Windows cannot connect to the printer.  Access is denied. "I would be grateful for any help.

    Kind regards.

Since the XP machine is HOME, I don't think that the permissions dialog box is accessible.

Run the XP network sharing wizard again and see if it affects safety correctly on sharing.

Is the printer you share one that has drivers provided with Windows XP?

In the meantime we will at least get the printer works for you.

Create a local printer on Windows Vista; Creation of a Local Port in the form \\XPMACHINE\Printsharename (this will send the files by using the redirector instead of the RPC service).  Install the Windows Vista driver for the device.

You can print because print$ access is required for printer drivers.

I suggest to disable all security software, including firewalls, you have probably enabled or installed and then try to print again to see if that makes a difference:

just got a new modem att wireless, now my phone cannot connect to the printer as it used to...

If AT & T has provided the modem, you can give them a call and explain the problem you are having. They should be able to help you. If you did not have all that in place, then it would be a little difficult to explain what you need to do... but... basically you would need to connect the modem and check the settings there and make sure your printer match the parameters.

  • Vista cannot connect to the printer

I have three computers, one with XP and one with Vista Home and one with Win7.  XP has an attached Cannon printer that is shared on the network.  It worked well for a long time.

I recently had a wifi attached Kodak esp6150 printer I installed over the old Canon.  It works well from all three computers.  Since installing it however the Vista computer is no longer can find Canon printer on the XP computer.  So I tried to add a printer in Vista.  It shows the printer in the list of printers connected to the network, but when I select and tell Vista to add it I get the error "unable to connect to the printer.

Okay, I went back to a restore point before the Kodak and Canon fine works again.  I reinstalled Kodak software and both printers worked ok maybe half an hour and the cannon disappeared Vista again.

The world is - that sound familiar at all?  No idea how to get Vista to recognize the two printers like XP and Win7 are happy to do?

    Thank you.

    Bill

Okay, I think I got my problem solved from information found elsewhere on the web.  The trick seems to be to tell Vista to install the printer working for the Canon even if it is a shared network printer.  And create a local port with the name \\XPserverName\PrinterName.

But as I said, this is necessary if the Kodak is installed.  Otherwise Vista see the Canon as a shared network printer.

  • Windows cannot connect to the printer operation failed with error 0x0000007e

    Hello

    OS: Windows 7 x 86 SP1

    Print server: Windows Server 2003 R2 SP2 x 86

Printer: HP LaserJet 8150 printer shared and listed in the directory

    Problem:

When I try to install the printer in the Add Printer Wizard, choose install a network printer, she finds a driver on the server, installs, then brings up an error (see topic).

In the Print Service logs, I see the following:

"The print spooler failed to load a plug-in module, 0x7e error code. See the user context information for event data.

I can install the printer very well if I choose local printer, new port, TCP/IP, and enter the IP address. This isn't a solution, as users cannot be expected to go through this process, or for me to go around all the machines and do it manually. More I want than the print jobs to the print server's spool, and I think that the local installation method uses the local spooler.

I tried to install the driver of HP UPD PCL 6, x 86 and x 64, on the print server.

When I check what the client machine pilot chose to install by going to the properties of the print server, I can see that he chooses the former driver "HP LaserJet 8150 Series PCL 6". I presume that it is incompatible with Windows 7, that's why I am getting the error cannot connect.

How can I get Windows 7 clients to use the UPD?

I left our Windows 2003 print server to a Server 2008 and comes to install the HP UPD x 86 and x 64 for each printer. Now everything works perfectly! All XP and 7 customers can install printers network without problem.

I suspect that the problem was due to have many different versions of drivers on the old print server, and customers did not know which to use?

  • iMac cannot connect to 7520 printer (wired) - after six months of work very well.

My Photosmart 7520 worked fine for six months - cables for iMac, wireless for Mac Book and iPad.

Suddenly, the iMac to which it is connected, unable to connect to it.  Then, of course, the other devices in the House cannot connect wirelessly is.

    1. total stop did not help.  Printers, sometimes he showed a light yellow, sometimes shown green and slowed down... but sending print jobs made back to "unable to connect".

2 remove the printer from the list, and since the iMac can't find it, I now have nothing.

    3. I can't do a reset of the printer because I lost the driver for my old Perfection 2400 scanner.

I have never been able to activate the web services.  That this has something to do with it?

    Help. Sandy

    Hi Sandy,

Sorry to hear that there are some problems with your connection to the printer Photosmart HP 7520.  If you don't mind not could you please answer a few questions that might help me understand what could happen.

The 7520 Photosmart printer has an Ethernet (wired network) port, in "wired", I'll assume you mean that the printer is connected to your iMac via USB cable.  You the first thing I would try is to unplug the USB cable to the back of the printer and taking again and then do the same thing at the back of the iMac.  I know that sometimes because of the angle of the cables, they can be loosened.  See if the iMac can then "see" the printer.

You can remove the printer from the printers and Scanners, system preferences, selecting the printer in the list on the left, then pressing the key less at the bottom of the list.  This should in no way affect or not wearing your Epson Perfection 2400 is always configured in your PC.

Can you please tell me if your iMac is on the (access point) network as your MacBook and iPAD?

When you use your iPAD to print, it can "see" the printer (you can select or it appears by name)?

Finally, if you tap the wireless on the front panel of the printer, it should display the IP address of the printer.  Your MacBook when it is connected to your wireless network, open Safari and type http:// and the address of the printer showed you.  Safari open the page Web of the printer or a mistake?

    Thank you
