Cannot create a new folder or cant find where it is...

I see the ability to create a new folder when I'm in my library, but when I choose to do, I don't see the folder!  Help, please!

Do, or you have installed Chrome? It appears that an update of Chrome, (mid April 2013), is responsible for the loss of the option new folder. Even if Chrome has not been installed, here are two patches.

  • Cannot create a new folder name

Cannot create a new folder and name it.  The name I give always comes back again record when I hit enter.

I'm assuming that happens with all new folders in the special folder that you use and that you use a "legal" name for the folder - but that is determined when you answer questions of Malke.

It's maybe a permissions issue.  You will have to perhaps take full rights on the folder or even take in charge of the case.

To view your permissions, right-click on the file/folder, click Properties, and check the Security tab.  Check the permissions you have by clicking on your user name (or group of users).  Here are the types of permissions, you may have: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/What-are-permissions.  You must be an administrator or owner to change the permissions (and sometimes, being an administrator or even an owner is not sufficient - there are ways to block access (even if a smart administrator knows these ways and can move them - but usually should not because they did not have access, usually for a very good reason).)  Here's how to change the permissions of folder under Vista: http://www.online-tech-tips.com/windows-vista/set-file-folder-permissions-vista/.  To add take and the issuance of right of permissions and ownership in the right click menu (which will make it faster to get once it is configured), see the following article: http://www.mydigitallife.info/2009/05/21/take-and-grant-full-control-permissions-and-ownership-in-windows-7-or-vista-right-click-menu/.

To resolve this problem with folders, appropriating the files or the drive (as an administrator) and give you all the rights.  Right-click on the folder/drive, click Properties, click the Security tab and click on advanced and then click the owner tab.  Click on edit, and then click the name of the person you want to give to the property (you may need to add if it is not there--or maybe yourself). If you want that it applies to subfolders and files in this folder/drive, then check the box to replace the owner of subcontainers and objects, and click OK.  Back and now there is a new owner for files and folders/player who can change the required permissions.  You can change now switched to read-only (even if the main folder indicates that they are always read-only - you can access yourself as the owner).  You can keep them in read-only to other users, customers and administrators even (although they can support themselves and access, if they wish, and it is really not that you can do to stop it except protect the file with a password by using a 3rd party product.)  Here is more information on the ownership of a file or a folder: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/67717-take-ownership-file.html.  To add take ownership in the menu of the right click (which will make it faster to get once it is configured), see the following article: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/add-take-ownership-to-explorer-right-click-menu-in-vista/.

Good luck and I hope this helps!

  • new file is empty. Cannot create a new folder. How can I fix it?

When I click on "FILE" 'NEW', it is 'empty'. "." I can't create a new folder.  How can I change this so that it shows the folder?  Also.  When I chick on a hypertext link, I get a message that, because of the restriction on the computer, I can't access the hyper link.  How can I change this so that I go to the hyperlink?  Thank you

    Hi Bennie,.

    1. are you referring to any program or folder?

2 is the limited issue while accessing the hyperlink for any program in particular?

3 is. your computer connected to a network of area?

Try the following and see if it helps.

    Method 1:

Try using the command prompt and try to create a new folder and check if you can create a.

To do this, follow the steps below:

    a. Click Start.
b in the start search box type CMD and press to enter.
    c. type cd... publicity and press ENTER, repeat the cd... and press ENTER until you have c:
    d. now, type the following at the command prompt:mkdir folder_name

Here, folder_name is the name of desired folder

    e. check if the folder is created in the C drive.

    Method 2:

Try to disable the third-party security software and check.

    Disable security software: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Disable-antivirus-software

Note: If you need to temporarily disable the security software, you should reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    Method 3:

I suggest you perform a SFC Scan and check.

Refer to the steps in the following Microsoft article.

Use the System File Checker tool to troubleshoot missing or corrupted system files on Windows: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833

Keep us informed on the status of the issue.

  • Cannot create a new folder in Windows Explorer

    Original title: Windows Explorer

I have a HP model p6710f computer running Windows 7 SP1 that I keep updated.

    I use Kaspersky Internet Security.

My problem is: Windows Explorer does not create a new folder and I can't determine why.

I can create a Briefcase (which I really don't need) but why can't I just create a single file?

I would like to have information or suggestions about this situation.

    Thank you

  • File system 512 error - cannot create a new folder

    Hello

I can't create a new folder under libraries/photos. I have several folders and subfolders, but lately when I try to create a new folder directly in 'photos', I get a "file system 512 error." I can still create new folders in the existing folders, but not directly in the library/images directory. I am confused because I have done this several times before.

I downloaded and ran an expensive registry fix program and have the latest Windows. Neither helped.

All ideas are most appreciated. Thank you!

    Hi Alex

You're right, I was assuming that the my images from your user account folders was in this library.

    OK, let's try again.

Go to the images of C:\Users\Public\Public folder. Create a new folder in the folder public photo.

Now go back to the photo library and see if this new folder appears here.

    Let me know.

Thank you for using Windows 7

  • Cannot create a new folder on my desktop

Hi, I'm trying to create a new folder on my desktop but when I right click on my mouse and open the new area in the window the link to create a new folder is gone. Any idea?

  • Cannot create a new folder using the link on command bar (Win 7) over problem of saving files newly downloaded into the folder of choice

Greetings! And thanks for your visit. I was not a happy camper since my toys have acted toward the top. And eating too much of my time, with too few results. Here we go:

    • I'm unable to create a new folder or get No response after clicking on "new folder" on the command bar in Windows 7 (Professional).

Nothing happening... not even an error message.  I can enter the existing folders (where individual files) but as I'm trying to create a new folder to put them in, I write off. But that's not all. There is another mystery plaguing my system (and I suspect that these two are related).  I am naïve about how to remedy the situation:

    • I can not save files to my desktop (x) - favorite mainly files I just downloaded and am trying to save;

I get an error message indicating "you don't have permission to save to this place... you want to save it to My Documents instead? (No, I wouldn't.)  I'm connected with my regular user profile (which has administrator privileges). Yes... I checked in the user accounts and verified. (I am the only user on the system, in case this has an impact on the problem. Not sure if I should create a "dummy" another user without administrator privileges, but just throw that out there.) This seems to be mainly when I am trying to save a downloaded file or the executable file.

I can if not create and/or move files without problem; It's just not very welcoming for new downloads.

Between these two issues, I'm not having fun with this all-in-One Dell Optiplex (new).  She is on a home network and the only thing I have
reminder to do recently is to join the homegroup with one of the other Win 7 PC on the same network. Maybe this related to not having 'permission' to save in some places? Or create new folders? I'm the kind of feeling sad and rejected...

Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. FYI: I try not to visit the registry on my own I do not have a Guide of techno-GPS with me. I sailed quite well on my own otherwise, provided that I the registry (or any what presses along the way.) Please think about this and do the right thing. I'll wait here with my turn signals on.

    Hello

You have discovered a problem with Windows 7. To resolve this problem, I use a program called FileMenu Tools. You can download the portable freeware from here: http://www.softpedia.com/get/PORTABLE-SOFTWARE/System/System-Enhancements/FileMenu-Tools-Portable.shtml .

After having downloaded and installed the program, you will notice that, by default, each option is checked. I would be much more selective on this subject, otherwise your context menu will be a full page long! When the main window opens, you will see a list on the right side of all the elements that can be added to the context menu. Start weeding through the list and every one to take away, you don't need the United Nationsby checking the box.

Once you have completed your selection (de-selections) make sure that you click the green check mark in the row of icons at the top of the left window of the interface to 'Apply' of your choice. The program can do much more, but that answers your specific question. I am told that the program has a good help file, so try here if you are interested.

Let me know if this solves the problem for you.

    Kind regards

  • Cannot create a new folder in 3 ECP

    Hello

I downloaded ECP 3 this morning and I can't seem to be able to create a new folder in the sidebar. I get a "NotReadableError" message when you try to make a case. Is it wanted because of the "preview" of the release status? Here is a screenshot of what I see when I try to make a new folder.

    Thanks in advance.

    OS: Windows 7

For what it's worth, here's the bug on this: https://github.com/adobe/brackets/issues/1577.  It will be fixed later when we move the files on the road on the installation folder.

  • Cannot create a new folder in my library of Documents?

As it is said basically. I go to my library and click on the document library, where are all my saved documents. It becomes quite unorganized and a couple of new files would really help that. I click the option at the top of the page or anything that said "New folder" but nothing ever happens.
