Cannot create the new folder in windows 7

My PC cannot create a new folder in windows 7, I don't know what to do, please help.

You have installed chrome? It's looking like a recent update of chromium may be the cause. Here are two patches.

  • Cannot create a new folder in Windows Explorer

    Original title: Windows Explorer

I have a HP model p6710f computer running Windows 7 SP1 that I keep updated.

    I use Kaspersky Internet Security.

My problem is: Windows Explorer does not create a new folder and I can't determine why.

I can create a Briefcase (which I really don't need) but why can't I just create a single file?

I would like to have information or suggestions about this situation.

    Thank you

Make a right click on the desktop does not appear "new folder."

Do, or you have installed Chrome? It appears that an update of Chrome, (mid April 2013), is responsible. Here are two patches.

  • Cannot create a new folder name

Cannot create a new folder and name it.  The name I give always comes back again record when I hit enter.

I'm assuming that happens with all new folders in the special folder that you use and that you use a "legal" name for the folder - but that is determined when you answer questions of Malke.

It's maybe a permissions issue.  You will have to perhaps take full rights on the folder or even take in charge of the case.

To view your permissions, right-click on the file/folder, click Properties, and check the Security tab.  Check the permissions you have by clicking on your user name (or group of users).  Here are the types of permissions, you may have: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/What-are-permissions.  You must be an administrator or owner to change the permissions (and sometimes, being an administrator or even an owner is not sufficient - there are ways to block access (even if a smart administrator knows these ways and can move them - but usually should not because they did not have access, usually for a very good reason).)  Here's how to change the permissions of folder under Vista: http://www.online-tech-tips.com/windows-vista/set-file-folder-permissions-vista/.  To add take and the issuance of right of permissions and ownership in the right click menu (which will make it faster to get once it is configured), see the following article: http://www.mydigitallife.info/2009/05/21/take-and-grant-full-control-permissions-and-ownership-in-windows-7-or-vista-right-click-menu/.

To resolve this problem with folders, appropriating the files or the drive (as an administrator) and give you all the rights.  Right-click on the folder/drive, click Properties, click the Security tab and click on advanced and then click the owner tab.  Click on edit, and then click the name of the person you want to give to the property (you may need to add if it is not there--or maybe yourself). If you want that it applies to subfolders and files in this folder/drive, then check the box to replace the owner of subcontainers and objects, and click OK.  Back and now there is a new owner for files and folders/player who can change the required permissions.  You can change now switched to read-only (even if the main folder indicates that they are always read-only - you can access yourself as the owner).  You can keep them in read-only to other users, customers and administrators even (although they can support themselves and access, if they wish, and it is really not that you can do to stop it except protect the file with a password by using a 3rd party product.)  Here is more information on the ownership of a file or a folder: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/67717-take-ownership-file.html.  To add take ownership in the menu of the right click (which will make it faster to get once it is configured), see the following article: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/add-take-ownership-to-explorer-right-click-menu-in-vista/.

Good luck and I hope this helps!

  • FTP - cannot create the remote folder

    Help, please!

I use DW 8 on iMac. When you download my site (using sync or put), all two used to work properly, I now meet the following error message and then I hunted:

"error - cannot create the remote folder / folder name and the path--canceled by the user.

I thought that the file may be corrupted somehow and removed completely from the site. On my next attempt, another file has triggered the same message, and so on...

So I am unable to download my site and the bits and pieces that are on the web are truncated because the site is incomplete!

    What can I do?

You may find it useful to stick with the DW FTP. Having the ability to
Download up/dependent files is nice, as are the other (select features
more recent, select recently modified, etc.).

  • Button to create the new folder is missing in Explorer

The button new folder exists when I browse through the directories to backup certain file. But in normal mode, the Explorer of Windows Vista has not no any button to create the new folder. It is present in Windows XP and Windows 7. Is it possible to bring back this button in windows Explorer in Windows Vista.

There is a third party software bxNewFolder which adds a "New folder" button in the toolbar of Windows Explorer. It also provides a hotkey (F12) to quickly create a new folder in Explorer. However, she runs whenever you start the computer, the installation needs administrative privileges and uninstall requires a reboot. It is a Browser Helper Object (BHO)

I suggest that you just use "Alt + FWF" keyboard shortcuts in Explorer, the new folder appears instant ready to rename.

  • Why I can not create a new folder in Windows Contacts and rename it?

I keep my contacts in Windows Contacts, divided into folders named category.  In the past, I was able to press the button "New folder" to create a new folder, and then rename the folder.  Now, I can create a new folder, but Windows doesn't allow me the no - name.  As soon as I type the name of the new folder and press ENTER, it goes back on behalf of the "new folder". Can someone explain what happened?

If possible, although I honestly don't see how the shortcut should influence.  Try this, just delete your shortcut, then take the icon on the left side of the address bar of the 'work' contacts folder and drag your desktop and drop it.  This example is part of a control panel, but it works the same:

Recent development.  For example, I wanted to create a new subfolder in a folder in my pictures library, but suddenly I can't.

By clicking on the 'create a new folder' button on the top, does nothing.  If I did a right click and go to "new", create the new folder is not an option (only to create a new compressed folder).  I don't understand.  Already tried this: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833?wa=wsignin1.0

Important:  This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs.
