  1. When did you start to question?

  2. what exactly happens when you try to delete the mails?

  3. do you get error messages or error codes?

  You can try to rename delete point .dbx and check:

  a. Click Start, point to find and then click files or folders.

  b. in the named, box type deleted item.dbx

  (c) in the area to look in, click on your main hard drive (usually drive C), and then click Find now.

  d. right-click on the deleted item.dbx file and then click Rename.

  e. type deleted item.dbxold, and then click ok.

  f. launch Outlook Express. This creates new files. Try to delete e-mails and check.

  Note: You can try to create a new folder and move all messages from the Inbox, and delete items before you rename files.

• Use of imported bookmarks in Safari on iMac that appear as a dotted, cannot delete unwanted bookmarks.

• Cannot delete a bookmark in "Unsorted Bookmarks". I tried "resetting" of firefox.

  No need to delete the entire category "Unsorted Bookmarks", although this would be an acceptable solution.

  COR - el: thanks for the quick response. It has not solved the problem, but something that you said does not lead to a solution.

  To reformulate the problem, there was a lot of bookmarks, which appeared in the drop-down menu that simply cannot be deleted.

  I was able to delete 'normal' bookmarks by bringing their respective pages on the left by clicking on the star in "Edit this bookmark" which appears near the right end of the URL field and then clicking "Delete bookmark" from the context menu that appears. In this case, the star would be yellow and in the popup, the folder would be called bird "Bookmarks Menu".

  Where I couldn't delete the bookmark, the star would be white and the record would be qualified bird "Unsorted Bookmarks."

  It made no difference if I started firefox in safe or normal mode.

  It had been years that I used the bookmarks bar and I had completely forgotten it existed. You mentioned it in your response, however, and I decided to try it. Bingo! In the sidebar, I could with the right Bookmark button and then click 'remove '. It worked even for bookmarks that I could not remove any other way.

  I don't know if it is a bug in version 16 of firefox, or if somehow my bookmarks file had accumulated incorrect metadata for many years to update version.

  In any case, for me, is a problem solved.

• Can I re - set tabs in the "New Tab Page"? I deleted all bookmarks in two of the nine "tabs". Can I re - define these?

  This new tab page allows to store the new bookmarks, right? But I was hoping to return to a bookmark that I jumped, so I pressed on remove again and again until the screen on two of the nine just went completely blank, and now I can't drag a bookmark for them.   Please try this: open a bookmark and drag its icon site (on the left side of the address bar (address)), hold it on the newtab tab and when it opens, release it on a blank thumbnail.

• Cannot delete a bookmark - why?

  I select a bookmark that I want to delete, then click the star, then select delete the bookmark. The bookmark is still there. Several attempts with the same bookmark, multiple failures.

  Glad to see things seem to have improved. You obviously sorted the removal of the recalcitrant bookmark.

  I guess you also sorted:

   "Further, If I <show all bookmarks> none of my unsorted bookmarks is shown. Clicking on the "unsorted bookmarks" folder gives nothing, does nothing."  
  

  As you mention now

  Problems with bookmarks and history does not properly can be caused by a corrupted database places.sqlite file.

  You can check for problems with the database places.sqlite file in the Firefox profile folder.

I can't always favorite of new sites, so I can't even re-do all my favorites (and I got a lot, all of them arranged so it's a big loss and incredibly annoying). Then I realized that the back button does not work. And the cursor remains on the typing that I symbol, it does not change the arrow, when I click on a link.

  One possible cause is a problem with the places.sqlite file that stores the bookmarks and history.
