Cannot delete file on the desktop.

Hi guys

I've been putting / travel to various files to a folder on the desktop to keep copies of 'my documents', for reasons of security. When I finished my work, I could not delete the file. He keeps asking me (my real account name, which is also a Director) for permission to remove. How the hell do I me gives permission?

Any ideas?

Hi Oberwald. In fact, this is what I did and ran a restore and it solved the problem.

I was with earlier FL Studio to make music, then I exported a bunch of files .wav (as separate channels) to my office. Now, there are 14 ".wav" files on my desk I have is no longer necessary. When I try to highlight all remove, a dialg box opens saying "ready to remove" then below, he has time to outbound... Calculation... and this box stays on forever without change. I try to put an end to the session, had not responding alarm and needs to restart windows Explorer. I try to delete one by one, same thing. I tried to remove/change any other file as these 14 .wav files, they all deletions or works normally, no worries. I even deleted a ".midi" file exported from the same FL Studio software without problem, which begs the question. Why can I not delete/modify(move, copy, chk properties) these 14 .wav files. Looks like Windows Explorer crashes whenever I try to delete them. Right-click on one of the files, and then click Properties, nothing happens. I tried several times after restarting Windows, same thing. Another question that occur almost at the same time, it's that I noticed my cpu (Athlon II x 4 @2. 8 GHz) has been constantly in use about 60% (on all 4 cores). For comparison in normal operation, running a demanding application such as Call of Duty 4 game uses as much (~ 60% I checked) resource CPU. Before that, when I check my cpu just after startup, it uses 0-2% now after starting, using 50-75% CONSTANTLY immediately even during moments of rest. When I check the process, a call app "dllhost.exe alias COM Surrogate" has listed 25 under CPU constantly while all other open processes are considered to be 00 or 01 under the same parameter. I tried ending the process both the process of the "dllhost.exe" tree, but it starts immediately with the same listed 25 under CPU and my CPU resource still used up to about 60%. This is all very curious because they all seems to happen at the same time and without precursor of actions/mistakes. Someone help me please to solve these problems or at least let me know what could possibly cause these symptoms.

My specs: CPU Athlon II 630 x 4 @2. 8 GHz, RAM 8 GB DDR3 SDRAM 1333 MHz, Nvidia 9600GT GPU, Momentus XT hybrid total HDD(7200rpm/4Gb SSM) 250 GB (112 GB free), 64-bit OS Windows 7 (latest updates installed), DirectX11

Yes, my system problems have been resolved. Sorry for taking so long to get back to you guys. After working with the engineer for a few days, we finally found a way to remove the files and stop hogging it, but it is a partial correction because the primary cause remains until Microsoft release a patch for this problem, I was not billed by the Department because he is an anomaly in the Microsoft System in addition to the cooperative solution approach.

The only solution is to delete the problematic files and install the latest updates for Windows and all that software output of the file (in my case FL Studio). You'll need the Microsoft Windows Performance toolkit, scanned your system for the source of cpu and use PWS mem to identify files in use by dllhost, then kill all services except those who criticize. Make sure that you do not access these files on the issue. The only way to remove these problem files is back. First of all, you need to change the access right for your ACL by using the CACLS command. Once you have changed for each of the file paths you want to delete, you can delete each files * separately *. After the removal, you will need to restart your computer. then your pc should run normally with the normal CPU usage below.

  • Cannot delete files from the Recycle Bin

    Hello

I'm unable to access my trash, everythime I click on the folder, it says windows Explorer has a problem, then said restarting windows.

And the window just closes, it is there anyway to delete the files from the trash bin other than to go to the folder it self.

    See you soon

    Serrano

Here is an article on how to repair a trash corrupted in Vista: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/131294-recycle-bin-corrupted-cannot-delete-file-folder.html.

It restarts if you left or do a right-click on the icon or both?  Here are a few ways to empty it by using two methods:

    1. On the desktop, right-click on the Recycle Bin.
    2. Then click the Empty trash to empty its contents.
    3. You will be asked if you are sure that before it permanently deletes the files.
    4. If you're absolutely sure, then click Yes to clear the contents of the Recycle Bin.
    5. Alternatively, you can double-click the Recycle Bin to open and examine its contents.
    6. And then on the file menu, click empty the Recycle Bin.
    7. After confirmation, Windows Vista will be empty all files from the Recycle Bin.

Go to control panel / customization / Desktop Icons and remove the trash, click OK and close.  Then go back and add the trash.  See if the new basket has the same problem.

Here is a program that you download that adds a command to empty the trash to the command line if all that you need to do is type of the command in the box search now and it will happen. http://itsvista.com/2007/01/itsvista-tip-23-empty-vistas-recycle-bin-from-the-command-line/.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • Cannot delete files to the trash (Recycle Bin access denied)

    System: Windows 7 Ent SP1 x 64, i7 930, 24GO RAM with all updates

When I try to delete files in Windows Explorer, I get the following error (most of the time, but not always):

Window with the title 'Recycle Bin access denied' and the message

" cannot be moved to the trash. Do you want to permanently delete it? »

I can then permanently delete the file, even if I sent to the trash.

I tried the following (nothing works):

-checked to see if the file is locked with Process Explorer (find handle or DLL)-it is not (and it can be removed permanently)

-deleted all the recycle bins on all drives & restarted. New recycling bins have been created, but it did not help.

-changed of owner of baskets and all files as (with the takeown command). Corrupt system baskets complained, emptied their and restored to their previous state. This did not help the primary problem.

-set the maximum size to the size of the disk on all baskets. It has no effect on the main problem.

-J' also checked the security for the folders tab $RECYCLE. BIN on all readers and define "Full control" for users. SYSTEM and administrators had already 'Full comtrol. This did not help also.

What is strange (and new), is when I open the Recycle Bin, the files are always considered to be "Tiles" (which I did not). If I put it in 'Détails', the change is not permanent - the next time I open the Recycle Bin, the files are showed once again as "Tiles".

What can I do to be able to delete (all) files via the Recycle Bin?

Thanks Mike for the response, but none of the methods helped. There was no malware and even in safe mode, I could not delete files to the Recycle Bin. In addition, the original administrator account could not delete to the Recycle Bin.

But I think I found the culprit:

Apparently, this problem showed that in the downloads folder, to which I had many junctions (to be easily accessible). Due to lack of space on the C: drive, I remembered that I have moved through properties-> location on a disk with more space. Instead of the old folder in C:\Users\ downloads I put a junction pointing to the new location.

Now, I had old junctions pointing to C:\Users\personal, which in turn was a junction pointing to a new location. Registration/creation/look at one/etc files in folder downloads accessible through 2 junctions was of course OK, but delete somehow was not able to delete files to the Recycle Bin. When I fixed the remaining junctions to point directly to the new location of the download folder, delete started working OK again.

    Summary:

Delete the file (SHFileOperation?) is not able to use the trash, if the file is accessible via junction 2 points (or more?).

  • Tried to delete files on the desktop, but it showed "Item not found"!

I wanted to delete files on my desk. But he showed "Item not found", ask me to locate the file. But I searched the entire computer, the file is no longer exist. But he was still showing on the desktop!

What can I do to remove them? Because they are really boring!

Are you sure that it is a folder on your desktop and not just a shortcut (a link to the actual file)?  The actual file can be located elsewhere.

Check C:\Users\\Desktop, and see if the files are there.  If so, try removing them from there (instead of from the desktop).  It shouldn't make a difference, but it might work.

Try to use one of the following free products to remove the file/folder (from two places).  Assassin http://www.malwarebytes.org/fileassassin.php of files (with or without forcing the deletion: http://www.mydigitallife.info/2008/12/27/force-delete-cannot-delete-locked-or-in-used-files-or-folders-with-fileassassin/) or Unlocker to: http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/System-Miscellaneous/Unlocker.shtml.  These programs often work when normal functions remove Vista not work correctly.

Search for files in Vista is quite different that it was with XP.  To search for a file with a normal search in Vista, it should be in the index files or types of files - otherwise it will not come to the top.  You CAN get to get to a FULL player search.  To search for the folder C: whole disk in Vista go to start / search and type in ' or '. As you type, you'll see two hyperlinks appear just above where you type and we'll search everywhere.  A click on it.  Who will do a fast indexed search and bring up a dialog box.  Click on advanced search.  Click the drop-down location and find the C: drive and click on it. Check the box "include not indexed, hidden and system files (might be slow).»  Then click on search.  You will now search your entire hard drive to the specified file.  And Yes, this isn't a very effective way to search the entire disk for a file but it is how it is done in Vista.  Once you find the file, try to remove normally and if it does not then try to use both products above to see if you have a better chance.

    I hope this helps.

  • Cannot delete files from the external hard drive after copying using Robocopy

Original title:! VERY DIFFICULT QUESTION! Files that cannot be deleted!

I did a robocopy and he left during the night and when I came back it was in some kind of loop and my external hard drive was full. The files are not visible in Explorer and if I try to delete them in the command line that fails because some are too long. Urgent I need to redo the space on this external and copy the files to my parents and charity before fly me soon. Please can someone help me.

    * Looks like that I have multiple instances of the same files

I don't know if you will be able to do this before your flight, but the drive must be partitioned and formatted, reformatted, or scanned for errors of NTFS file allocation table with repairs enabled. Depending on the size of the disk, this could take some time. You can also check statistics of SMARTDRIVE with a utility like Crystal Info disc to see if it is a failure.

If you do not drive Professional recovery tools available, the native CHKDSK will do in a pinch.

    C:\Windows\System32>chkdsk /?
Checks a disk and displays a status report.

volume Specifies the drive letter (followed by a colon),
    mount point or volume name.
filename FAT/FAT32 only: Specifies the files to check for fragmentation.
/F fixes errors on the disk.
/V FAT/FAT32: displays the full path and the name of each file
    on the disk.
On NTFS: Displays the eventual cleanup messages.
/R Locates bad sectors and recovers readable information
    (implies / f).
L:size NTFS only: changes the size of the logfile to the specified number
of kilobytes.  If the size is not specified, displays currently

/X force the volume to unmount it first if necessary.
All open handles to the volume would then be invalid

/C NTFS only: skips, checking of cycles within the folder
    structure.
/B NTFS only: Re-evaluates bad clusters on the volume
    (implies / r)

The /I or /C switch reduces the amount of time required to run Chkdsk by

Any routine review and car repair will take time. CHKDSK is no exception.

  • Cannot delete files and music always there but not display upward when I connect to the computer?

    Hi all

Recently, I had a lot of problems with the music does not or don't play not I decided to delete all my e260 music and start again.  That's where the real problem started.

For some reason I can't delete three of the albums on my player.  Each of the albums have what appear to be corrupted in them files. My computer does not recognize the file type and file extension is given so I don't know what they are.  Each file "appears" to 4 GB in size but that may not be appropriate for my e260 is obviously only 4 GB in size!

Whenever I try to delete them I get an error message reading "cannot delete file: cannot read the source file or disc»

I tried to update the firmware, reset e260 to factory default settings and made 'restore' thingy (where you hold registration and plug it into the computer, etc.) and these files are still there.

After reading this thing of disk checking on this forum, I did this.  I was then able to remove two of the albums, but when I tried to delete the third album renamed 'a' and the damaged file shows 0 bytes in size, but I still can not remove.  However, I can move it to the folder music to any other folder.  I just can not remove!  When I do, I get an error message saying "cannot delete f: cannot find the file specified. '.  Be sure to only specify the path and the correct name.

After all that I started my e260, and now I find that 2 other albums are always on it, even if they do not display any where when I connect it to the computer.  I can see and read these albums on the drive, and they seem well, they do not appear to be there when I plug it into the computer and look for them in windows Explorer.  The music folder is not hidden also.  These two albums are not part 3 albums that I could not remove, they are actually part of the new substance started sort of all these problems with the music does not and is not only now that they are the display upwards and play but are not appear when connected to the computer!

I know it's probably not a lot of information but can someone tell me how to fix this?  If not, can I just format the * bleep * thing or I'll then have an e260 dead?

    See you soon,.

    PKFFW

PS: Sorry for the long windedness of this post.

Format will not remove the firmware, which is the operating system of the Sansa. It removes only the content that you have added. It will go back to what it was when it was new out of the box.

MTP does not matter if you have never used it. The ghost album can be just a list remains in your database file. Nevertheless, we must get rid of this corrupt file, so Format is probably your best option.

For what it's worth, to connect with the PSG, your computer needs Windows Media Player 10 or 11 is installed. XP comes with WMP 9, so he will not see the Sansa in MTP mode. unless you have updated.

  • Outlook express cannot delete messages in the Inbox

my outlook express cannot delete messages in the Inbox. After that, click on Delete on any e-mail item, nothing happens.

You are the very welcome, but please take into account preventive advice.

Do not archive mail in the receipt or sent items box.  Create your own user-defined folders and move messages you want to put in them. Empty the deleted items folder daily. Although the dbx files have a theoretical capacity of 2 GB, I recommend all a 300 MB max for less risk of corruption.

Information on the maximum size of the .dbx files that are used by Outlook Express:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/?kbid=903095

After you're done, followed by compacting your folders manually while working * off * and do it often.

Click Outlook Express at the top of the the folder tree so no folders are open. Then: File | Work offline (or double-click on work online in the status bar). File | Folder | Compact all folders. Don't touch anything until the compacting is completed.
