Cannot delete files in the folder empty my RoboHelp projects.

RoboHelp 2015 (12.0.2.384)

Cannot delete empty folders. I get an error message "cannot find this item. Tried to remove from the project manager, Explorer and BACK.

He eventually managed to delete this folder. I had to go back and find the hidden folder and delete it. BACK in fact my headache. I have used FileZilla because our company does not allow us to install whatever it is untrusted. I believe RoboHelp must do something under the covers and was a reference to that folder that I couldn't find.

  • Cannot delete files from the Recycle Bin

    Hello

I'm unable to access my trash, everythime I click on the folder, it says windows Explorer has a problem, then said restarting windows.

And the window just closes, it is there anyway to delete the files from the trash bin other than to go to the folder it self.

    See you soon

    Serrano

Here is an article on how to repair a trash corrupted in Vista: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/131294-recycle-bin-corrupted-cannot-delete-file-folder.html.

It restarts if you left or do a right-click on the icon or both?  Here are a few ways to empty it by using two methods:

    1. On the desktop, right-click on the Recycle Bin.
    2. Then click the Empty trash to empty its contents.
    3. You will be asked if you are sure that before it permanently deletes the files.
    4. If you're absolutely sure, then click Yes to clear the contents of the Recycle Bin.
    5. Alternatively, you can double-click the Recycle Bin to open and examine its contents.
    6. And then on the file menu, click empty the Recycle Bin.
    7. After confirmation, Windows Vista will be empty all files from the Recycle Bin.

Go to control panel / customization / Desktop Icons and remove the trash, click OK and close.  Then go back and add the trash.  See if the new basket has the same problem.

Here is a program that you download that adds a command to empty the trash to the command line if all that you need to do is type of the command in the box search now and it will happen. http://itsvista.com/2007/01/itsvista-tip-23-empty-vistas-recycle-bin-from-the-command-line/.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • Cannot delete files to the trash (Recycle Bin access denied)

    System: Windows 7 Ent SP1 x 64, i7 930, 24GO RAM with all updates

When I try to delete files in Windows Explorer, I get the following error (most of the time, but not always):

Window with the title 'Recycle Bin access denied' and the message

" cannot be moved to the trash. Do you want to permanently delete it? »

I can then permanently delete the file, even if I sent to the trash.

I tried the following (nothing works):

-checked to see if the file is locked with Process Explorer (find handle or DLL)-it is not (and it can be removed permanently)

-deleted all the recycle bins on all drives & restarted. New recycling bins have been created, but it did not help.

-changed of owner of baskets and all files as (with the takeown command). Corrupt system baskets complained, emptied their and restored to their previous state. This did not help the primary problem.

-set the maximum size to the size of the disk on all baskets. It has no effect on the main problem.

-J' also checked the security for the folders tab $RECYCLE. BIN on all readers and define "Full control" for users. SYSTEM and administrators had already 'Full comtrol. This did not help also.

What is strange (and new), is when I open the Recycle Bin, the files are always considered to be "Tiles" (which I did not). If I put it in 'Détails', the change is not permanent - the next time I open the Recycle Bin, the files are showed once again as "Tiles".

What can I do to be able to delete (all) files via the Recycle Bin?

Thanks Mike for the response, but none of the methods helped. There was no malware and even in safe mode, I could not delete files to the Recycle Bin. In addition, the original administrator account could not delete to the Recycle Bin.

But I think I found the culprit:

Apparently, this problem showed that in the downloads folder, to which I had many junctions (to be easily accessible). Due to lack of space on the C: drive, I remembered that I have moved through properties-> location on a disk with more space. Instead of the old folder in C:\Users\ downloads I put a junction pointing to the new location.

Now, I had old junctions pointing to C:\Users\personal, which in turn was a junction pointing to a new location. Registration/creation/look at one/etc files in folder downloads accessible through 2 junctions was of course OK, but delete somehow was not able to delete files to the Recycle Bin. When I fixed the remaining junctions to point directly to the new location of the download folder, delete started working OK again.

    Summary:

Delete the file (SHFileOperation?) is not able to use the trash, if the file is accessible via junction 2 points (or more?).

  • Cannot delete files from the external hard drive after copying using Robocopy

Original title:! VERY DIFFICULT QUESTION! Files that cannot be deleted!

I did a robocopy and he left during the night and when I came back it was in some kind of loop and my external hard drive was full. The files are not visible in Explorer and if I try to delete them in the command line that fails because some are too long. Urgent I need to redo the space on this external and copy the files to my parents and charity before fly me soon. Please can someone help me.

    * Looks like that I have multiple instances of the same files

I don't know if you will be able to do this before your flight, but the drive must be partitioned and formatted, reformatted, or scanned for errors of NTFS file allocation table with repairs enabled. Depending on the size of the disk, this could take some time. You can also check statistics of SMARTDRIVE with a utility like Crystal Info disc to see if it is a failure.

If you do not drive Professional recovery tools available, the native CHKDSK will do in a pinch.

/F fixes errors on the disk.
/V FAT/FAT32: displays the full path and the name of each file

On NTFS: Displays the eventual cleanup messages.
/R Locates bad sectors and recovers readable information

/C NTFS only: skips, checking of cycles within the folder

The /I or /C switch reduces the amount of time required to run Chkdsk by

Any routine review and car repair will take time. CHKDSK is no exception.

  • Cannot delete files on the external hard drive USB

There are records that I can not delete on my external USB hard drive that I'm starting to suspect are connected to Windows updates related to Visual Studio who fail everytime I try to apply (this is another question I've waited in vain an answer for on Microsoft Connect).  These files have names like f95b13d78bd4c3a41d86.

Here is an example of the message that I get trying to delete these folders:
You need permission to perform this action.
You need permission SYSTEM to make changes to this file.
    EULA.rtf
    etc, etc.

    Hello

    1 are logged as administrator?

2 have you tried to delete the folder as an administrator?

    3. are you facing problems with Windows update?

    Method 1:

I suggest to fully appropriate the folder and then try to delete.

    a. right click on the folder, and then click Properties

    b. click the Security tab

    c. click on Advanced, then the owner tab

    d. click on Edit, then your user name (make sure to check replace the owner of containers under..)

    e. click apply, then OK

    f. now, under permissions, click change permissions

    g. click Add, and then type your user name and click OK

    h. check the box allow under total control, and then click OK

    i. now, choose it replace all the child permission checkbox

    j. click OK, then apply, then on Close.

  • Cannot delete file on the desktop.

    Hi guys

I've been putting / travel to various files to a folder on the desktop to keep copies of 'my documents', for reasons of security. When I finished my work, I could not delete the file. He keeps asking me (my real account name, which is also a Director) for permission to remove. How the hell do I me gives permission?

    Any ideas?

Hi Oberwald. In fact, this is what I did and ran a restore and it solved the problem.

  • Sudden CPU hogging + cannot delete files on the desktop

I was with earlier FL Studio to make music, then I exported a bunch of files .wav (as separate channels) to my office. Now, there are 14 ".wav" files on my desk I have is no longer necessary. When I try to highlight all remove, a dialg box opens saying "ready to remove" then below, he has time to outbound... Calculation... and this box stays on forever without change. I try to put an end to the session, had not responding alarm and needs to restart windows Explorer. I try to delete one by one, same thing. I tried to remove/change any other file as these 14 .wav files, they all deletions or works normally, no worries. I even deleted a ".midi" file exported from the same FL Studio software without problem, which begs the question. Why can I not delete/modify(move, copy, chk properties) these 14 .wav files. Looks like Windows Explorer crashes whenever I try to delete them. Right-click on one of the files, and then click Properties, nothing happens. I tried several times after restarting Windows, same thing. Another question that occur almost at the same time, it's that I noticed my cpu (Athlon II x 4 @2. 8 GHz) has been constantly in use about 60% (on all 4 cores). For comparison in normal operation, running a demanding application such as Call of Duty 4 game uses as much (~ 60% I checked) resource CPU. Before that, when I check my cpu just after startup, it uses 0-2% now after starting, using 50-75% CONSTANTLY immediately even during moments of rest. When I check the process, a call app "dllhost.exe alias COM Surrogate" has listed 25 under CPU constantly while all other open processes are considered to be 00 or 01 under the same parameter. I tried ending the process both the process of the "dllhost.exe" tree, but it starts immediately with the same listed 25 under CPU and my CPU resource still used up to about 60%. This is all very curious because they all seems to happen at the same time and without precursor of actions/mistakes. Someone help me please to solve these problems or at least let me know what could possibly cause these symptoms.

My specs: CPU Athlon II 630 x 4 @2. 8 GHz, RAM 8 GB DDR3 SDRAM 1333 MHz, Nvidia 9600GT GPU, Momentus XT hybrid total HDD(7200rpm/4Gb SSM) 250 GB (112 GB free), 64-bit OS Windows 7 (latest updates installed), DirectX11

Yes, my system problems have been resolved. Sorry for taking so long to get back to you guys. After working with the engineer for a few days, we finally found a way to remove the files and stop hogging it, but it is a partial correction because the primary cause remains until Microsoft release a patch for this problem, I was not billed by the Department because he is an anomaly in the Microsoft System in addition to the cooperative solution approach.

The only solution is to delete the problematic files and install the latest updates for Windows and all that software output of the file (in my case FL Studio). You'll need the Microsoft Windows Performance toolkit, scanned your system for the source of cpu and use PWS mem to identify files in use by dllhost, then kill all services except those who criticize. Make sure that you do not access these files on the issue. The only way to remove these problem files is back. First of all, you need to change the access right for your ACL by using the CACLS command. Once you have changed for each of the file paths you want to delete, you can delete each files * separately *. After the removal, you will need to restart your computer. then your pc should run normally with the normal CPU usage below.

  • How to delete files in the folder of information system volume on replacement disks?

How can I delete files that were up on another system (XP), after that I inserted the disc into my new Win 7 system.  The files seem to be impossible to remove.  This is not a progress :)  What can I do to remove these files?  They take a significant amount of space, and I want to be able to put what I want on these drives.  What I have to get out my old XP discs just to do this?  Please tell me I don't have to (: I remember to clean my machine win 98 with the commmands BACK a file and directory at a time.)  I hope were not there...

    rfitzpa877

, This does not resolve the (ARRRG!) system volume information files, but their size is reduced to nothing...  If someone does not know how to remove these files, I would like to know how.  I formatted one of the disks and apparently not one of these folders have yet.  In fact, I bluff on that partition and formatted & that seems to have managed to get rid of these pesky files on this drive.  Am I the only one who thinks I should have control over my own system?  What is the point of having administrator rights?  Maybe it's time we give administrator rights.  I am not at all impressed by it.  From the looks of the number of points of view on this thread, I'm not the only one with this problem.  If I want to disable the protection and to get rid of the files, why I can't?

You just started to fall on this real guilty about "kits of infected roots.  Lets imagine that a crime is committed in a House.  who is instantly a suspect?  for example, wife disappears > husband is the first to be questioned.

In the case of a MS OS Microsoft has really strengthened WAY out of bounds. For half a year that I traced the issue to them anyone who or what that monitor my progress erased my data and sent me to a goose chase 6 months have no opportunity to even connect online for days or weeks I was left down my school because I was not able to turn on a computer to write an assignment or a test with any reliability.
Who got this abuse power?  They think we did by agreeing to there life private terms or agreeing to use icons 'newer and better '.  They rely solely on the low bar of duty of good faith to steal data, record and claim it as their webcam or any ones and zeros, they feel that theirs with an omniscient power of Microsoft update.  Why is Microsoft blameless when a blue screens after a system command to reboot to make effective change OS
? Read the comments around KB976902 and the "fix" KB25533552.  They have simply to virtualize all XP sp3 or later PC.  Using video to measure the ability of the PC performance and disk space querying Microsoft then begins to do what they darn well for as long as they wanted regardless of evil as being spent in graduate school.
This virtual virus haunts me, but he gave up because I happened to scan hundreds of pages of documents trying to burn DVDs or whatever it is to preserve the legal evidence (paralegals).
I had scanned drive my license to and many other pages that I think someone out there shows some mercy, at least for a little while.  Behaviour cruel and unusual of sadistic implementation of the 'virtual' virus left me broke and homeless.
Be aware, WBEM, Panther, winsxs and scoring system they say is in our interest or as these naïve technicians say blindly which is just one possible use of the 'virtual' Virus  Visual Basic and root or environment variables allows them to alter the remote registry or to set a timer to attack even when unplugged on the net.  They have no interest in the individual retail customer or small business owner.   Whenever you read "recommended", it is recommended to allow them to invade and infect their own way.
What virtual "features" are active I really don't know, when there is literally no control over any aspect of the PC.  They could using Adobe Flash network of peer-to-peer "characteristic" of the network or activate Bluetooth to create a network almost undetectable, replacement of NICs with NDIS based pilots allows them to use USB drivers to emulate any hardware driver, even turn off the LEDS of different.  Only because of the vibration of a drive external hard started to peel the onion.
I can bet my next "update" will be what I call and copyright 'virtual Virus '.
It is my opinion based on my experience real and even documenting months and months of troubleshooting the data I recorded full time has of course changed or deleted.   These facts showed me that Microsoft et al. will do anything even my personal destruction for nothing more than try to get control of my own personal private property.
By diligent and hundreds of thousands of hours, I am convinced all my personal files are monitored without legal or judicial supervision.
So yes, deleting these files is not only the best of the options, it leaves the possibility of attacking or anything be it launch at will and, therefore, it IS THE ONLY OPTION.
Hidden in the desktop.ini, fonts and all files are really seeds of the worst violations of privacy, not yet imagined by most computer experts or instructions.  Our worst enemy is so once more one inside not the perception of the public of the hacker tracking.
I submit, piracy of Microsoft operating systems is now a 2nd Amendment RIGHT because they used their OS as a weapon as damaging as any gun could be data that they killed.
By doing so and by my expert opinion and the notation of the inalienable right of the privacy of the citizens of CA. Microsoft has eliminated any claim of a right to valid author or license because they use EULA another company in they create and manage folders.
The 'virtual' Virus is clever that, as long as it is insidious.  If they deny then I ask the State of the art and my invention.  I can then request the return in court.  My remedy supposed today

  • Cannot delete files locked in the temp folder

I emptied regularly delete all files in the temp via the function folder in the Tools menu of IE9 and also by searching on folder and deleting the contents of the temporary Local AppData file in the users folder.

Ten days ago, I found there are some files in the folder temporary AppData that were locked and could not be removed. This only happens in a user account, and this isn't an administrator account. Opening of properties on any of the files by checking the Security tab, I find I am wierdly the sole owner of the file, but have limited permissions. I tried to change the permissions to get total control and then remove the file, but that did not work, nor has anything else I could think of. This included the stop of all open applications and disconnects all users.

    Other file properties:

-Open with "Windows Shell Commo" - little matter that is.

-Similar names to ~ DF38C18158B32C1039. TMP

    -Attributes: ATI

-The size is small (512 bytes, for example)

    -No previous versions

Normally the files in this folder have names like this except without the ~.

After having in vain tried everything I could think of to delete these files, I downloaded Revo Uninstaller, who managed to remove all the files locked in the record at the time.  However, the problem resurfaced shortly after and this time Revo Uninstaller did not work.

I spent a few days of research on the net and try different options without success until I stumbled on a recommendation to go into Control Panel, search for Java, open its settings menu and refuse authorisation for Java to back up the data on my computer.  It worked - I went back in the folder, the files were no longer locked, I was able to remove them as I usually do and I had no other problems with the locked files. Until yesterday.

I double-checked the settings of Java to ensure that authorization still denied to save data on my computer. I don't remember now if I set permission to refuse when I checked again. I tried then to Revo Uninstaller again, but he failed again to remove these files locked. I noticed today that the date for all files is last July 15.  It seems (so far) no new files have been generated, but I still cannot delete locked files 51 of my computer.  My biggest concern, obviously, is security.  I don't want to locked files including origins, functions and activities that I do nothing on my computer, especially if I'm unable to remove them.

I want to know how to remove these files, what caused do them appear in the first place and how to prevent them from happening again.

    Thank you!

Thanks for this suggestion, Oberwald. It came a little too late, however.  Finally, it occurred to me to try my anti-virus software file shredder function and he managed to remove the locked files.

I believe now these locked files were likely due to some kind of malware - after shredding, my desktop Recycle bin flashed repeatedly icon when I shut down the computer. Also, after have logged you in today, I find everything runs much faster and no sign of keylogging.  Seem to be back to normal.

I was able to save the link and it will try in the future if necessary.

    Thanks again!

  • In Win 7 I get an error for various leave and- or "this action cannot be completed because the folder or the file is open in another program."

I'm money than Win 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1. The following information are linked to the steps to solve a persistent problem. Please read carefully and answer completely, since you asked users to report carefully on the long process of troubleshooting-advice you provided. I've been at it for six hours now in this round of troubleshooting.

I tried to solve the continued permission errors and- or "this action cannot be completed because the folder or the file is open in another program."  This happens when attempts to cut-copy-paste------delete files (including the specific details listed below).  I searched on the Microsoft Support site to find answers to solve the problem, including the thread:

    http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/Windows_7-files/in-Windows-7-getting-error-the-action-cant-be/449b2e05-8ED0-4A72-98bd-dde430d27e10?TM=1356626412321

In accordance with this notice of sons, I emptied my Temp folder. The problem persisted. I downloaded the app 'Take Ownership' and also tried with periodic and sporadic success. It seemed to lengthen the time between recurrences of the problem - that it would allow me a half a dozen of all cutting------copy-paste and------or remove actions, until the error messages stop me to exercise that or any other action.  Then, I used the task Mgr end explorer.exe and reopen it to see if that makes a difference. For a while it worked, where I could make a few cut sporadically------copy-paste and------or delete actions. Today I'm at the point where I can preform one action, then I have to open task Mgr, end explorer.exe and then restart it to perform again a more cut-copy-paste or delete action. So, I have to return to the task Mgr and repeat the process above, for each new action I want to perform.

I watched rained down in the above quoted thread, and followed Support Engineer Samhrutha G troubleshooting tips - method 4 - start the computer start-up in minimal mode and to use the diagnostic selective startup. In previous discussions, you have asked for advice as to what you were doing when the problem occurs, so I rated as below:

I went into msconfig, unchecked "Load Startup items", went to the tab Serivce and allowed only half of them. He was 12 of 24 listed entries. During the tests, programs that are only open on my desk were two windows explore and Notepad to save the results. I got the following results:

I moved the contents of a folder on my main C drive on my external drive of 3 TB. When I then tried to remove this folder on my external hard drive I got the message

"You must be authorized to perform this action."

You need authorization S-1-5-21-602162358-602609370-839522115-1004 to make changes to this file.

After I clicked retry the record has been deleted. When I went to delete another folder in the same location on my external hard drive, he deleted the first time. He was then three other orders normally external hard disk.

Then I tried to delete a file in a different location on the external hard drive and the message

"You need give permission to delete this folder.

When I clicked on continue what he deleted

I cut and pasted a file from my external hard drive to my C drive. The record stuck on drive C. He pasted the folder on drive C, but the original folder remained on the external hard drive, even though it was a cut and paste. So when I went to delete the original folder that should have been cut, this message came:

"You need permission to delete this folder.

When I clicked on continue he grew up:

", You need permission to perform this action."

You need authorization MYCOMPUTERNAME\MYCOMPUTERNAME to make changes to this file.

When I clicked Try Again he deleted. But why he would leave the original behind if it was a cut and paste?

After that, I tried to cut and paste a file to a location on the external external hard drive to another location on the hard drive, after I had seen the contents of that folder and went up a level to the folder parent to try the cut and paste. I received the following message:

"Cannot perform this action because the folder or the file is open in another program

Close the folder or file, and then try again.

When I clicked Try Again it just repeat the error message, don't not allowing me to carry out the action and any other further reduction-copy paste and- or delete actions. I had not opened or closed all other folders, windows or applications, during the above test.

Based on the Support Engineer Samhrutha G troubleshooting tips 4 method found on the following thread:

    http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/Windows_7-files/in-Windows-7-getting-error-the-action-cant-be/449b2e05-8ED0-4A72-98bd-dde430d27e10?TM=1356626412321

(same thread as cited previously) Then I went into msconfig > Services and reduced the number of items in the selective startup of a unit, as I started 11 - instead of 12 - 24 listed entries. Upon reboot, I decided to re - check msconfig. In msconfig > Services he showed 165 points. All had a check in the box next to them. These 165 points, 56 showed as "ongoing" the rest showed as stopped. It would be useful that I specifically what were these 56 entries?

I continued with the troubleshooting test based on these settings initiated by Support Engineer Samhrutha G tips to reduce the selective startup (remember... it was 11 selected items)

I started by I try to copy / paste a file from my external hard drive to my C drive. He has successfully completed. When I went back to the location of the original file on the hard disk external and clicked on undo move, the message came:

"You need give the administrator permission to move this folder.

When I clicked on continue as he moved the folder

Then I tried to cut a file on the C drive and stick it in my external hard drive. He successfully completed the task. I then went back to the original location of the file on the C drive and tried to "Undo Move". I received the following message:

"You need give the administrator permission to move this folder.

By clicking on continue he grew up

"You must be authorized to perform this action."

By clicking on try again, just to repeat the error message and could not undo the move

I tried to cut the entire contents of a folder on my C drive and stick it in a directory on my external hard drive. He was able to make the cut and paste but left a folder and two files back in the original location on my C drive. When I then went to cut the 3 elements he missed and move them to the location I had initially indicated on my external hard drive - for the first file he brought up in the dialogue that he was already stuck and I would like to merge, etc, that I clicked on none. the second file in the sequence that he grew up:

"You must be authorized to perform this action."

When I clicked on continue he grew up

"You must be authorized to perform this action."

You need permission from the administrator of the computer to make changes to this file.

When I clicked on Try Again, he said.

    "Cannot find this article.

It is no longer in C:\Projects\FolderName. Check the location of the item, and then try again.

When I clicked Try Again he repeats just this same error message until I had to click Cancel to exit.

The record was then only showed only two remaining elements. Because the first cut and paste involved 22 files and 3 folders, now I am unable to say which of them got ignored or lost. When I updated the location of the original files he showed that a single folder on the left and the content was empty. When I checked it now duplicated and pasted to the location of this folder on the external drive, he was there with the appropriate content. So he had left this file to the original location, but it was empty. Why this erratic behavior?

When I went, then, remove this folder remaining from the original location, he deleted successfully. If you understand the above message, you notice that a file has disappeared.

I now need to mention an incident b4 I started the process of solving problems today. I felt that you needed some context b4 I mention this. I had tried to cut a folder that contains 33 files and 6 records. The six files contained two subfolders whose combined total content contained 28 photos - a mixture of mp4, JPEG and mp3 - for a total of 61 files in the parent folder, I tried to cut and paste. I tried to paste the folder parent on my external hard drive. He started at the cut and paste normally 7.04 GB and towards the end, I got the message

"Cannot perform this action because the folder or the file is open in another program

Close the folder or file, and then try again.

He was unable to finish when I clicked on Try Again, and I had to cancel out. However, he had removed all but one of the folders containing three files and it was not pasted into the new location. They were gone. I did a search on Win for some of the names of known files in this folder, and none appeared. Fortunately I had them on a second external drive. I plugged it to restore files, and of course that means more open task Mgr, ending explorer.exe and reopen in order to restore the files that explore had lost.

After my results displayed above two rounds of by using a clean boot and selective startup, you can see that it is very difficult to actually diagnose the problem because it happens inconsistently. It is also very time consuming and very, very, very, very, very frustrating.

I decided to try the method of disabling "just" thumb caching in the registry according to the advice of Robert P in the thread quotes. He said that I should go to Start > Run > gpedit.msc and "disable implementing caching thumbnails in hidden thumbs.db files" that was published of course in OK Win 7 > files, folders, and storage of the Microsoft Community forum. So I typed gpedit.msc in the search bar, and there was no instance of gpedit.msc, only setup.exe, I had to take was to gpedit.msc.  I installed it and after installation I typed again and he has not yet posted. So I rebooted. Restarted it showed up. When I went to run gpedit.msc, he brought to the top of the window with the error message group policy "MMC could not create the snap" when I looked up this article in the Microsoft Community, I found the link to the Win 7 forum, where the Star NIthyananda reported community
"Gpedit.msc is not available in Windows 7 Home premium.  Discussion here:

    http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/Windows_7-performance/when-i-open-gpeditmsc-on-my-computer-which-is/b1576a0f-348a-49D8-be70-d83d0f36e8aa?tab=AllReplies#tabs

    He then mentioned

"If you want to disable caching of thumbnails, you can access the registry editor and go to changing the location according to the value [note: its mine incorrect grammatical syntax and not]".

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\DisableThumbnailCache ".

with no information on how actually access HKEY_CURRENT_USER

I found the appropriate information on how to access the registry in Win 7 running regedit, with information on how to navigate to the appropriate location in the registry to disable the thumbnail cache

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\DisableThumbnailCache

but there is no entry "DisableThumbnailCache.

I researched and found that you can add it in

    http://www.SevenForums.com/tutorials/10794-thumbnail-cache-enable-disable.html

I downloaded the Disable_Thumbnail_Cache.reg file. After running Disable_Thumbnail_Cache.reg to merge it into the registry, I then returned to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\

and yet, there was no entry on DisableThumbnailCache

    The second method mentioned in

    http://www.SevenForums.com/tutorials/10794-thumbnail-cache-enable-disable.html

has been to access via the Group Policy Editor

I searched for the Group Policy Editor in Windows 7 search bar and it showed three entries

A folder titled "for Windows 7 Group Policy Editor.

    a zip file named "add_gpedit_msc_by_jwils876_d3kh6vm.zip".

    Setup.exe

The "Group policy for Windows 7 Editor" folder contained just the same two files listed below it

So, I went ahead and ran the setup.exe and then restarted. After the reboot, I did a new search for the Group Policy Editor and he grew up just three results.

I went back on the WindowsSeven Forum and found advice in the thread

    http://www.SevenForums.com/tutorials/3652-local-Group-Policy-Editor-open.html

Title: how to open the local Group Policy Editor in Windows 7

    The tips were:

To search for a group policy or the registry key, value, etc., see:

    Political research group

    The link above leads to:

"The GPS is going to move to a new end area January!

    http://gpsearch.azurewebsites.NET
You will be redirected in 15 seconds! »

I waited about 3 minutes and it went nowhere, so I clicked on the http link and he grew up:

    GetCategoryDependencies() - 500ServerError

This is where I could and I am now. And I can't "simply" disable caching of thumbnails. Can I return to my workspace and all simply continue with the editing work that I do, which is to cut, or -copy-paste and or delete files that I advance in my workflow. I can't do it without opening task and then Bishop ending and re-open explorer.exe for each order, I want to achieve.

At this point now a few hours later including writing this message, I think that a new facility would be easier, more rapid and less headaches but that will solve the problem?

Sense my frustration?  If this is not the case, let me make it clear. It's extremely frustrating. Why Windows doesn't have a fix for this is an error permanently?

It was mentioned in the original thread that I cited that it would be better to start a new thread and continue to add my comment to the answers already posted 138. This problem has plagued me for months. Please notify

As you have tried many fixes and changes to the registry, I suspect that your only option is a clean installation

And having done so don't try not to cut/copy anything other than the data in the files in libraries in any other player. Copy of records of the victory Road will result in the registry locations becoming screwed.

And if you really need locate the lbraries on another drive will redirect the location of other libraries that animate

  • Cannot delete files and music always there but not display upward when I connect to the computer?

    Hi all

Recently, I had a lot of problems with the music does not or don't play not I decided to delete all my e260 music and start again.  That's where the real problem started.

For some reason I can't delete three of the albums on my player.  Each of the albums have what appear to be corrupted in them files. My computer does not recognize the file type and file extension is given so I don't know what they are.  Each file "appears" to 4 GB in size but that may not be appropriate for my e260 is obviously only 4 GB in size!

Whenever I try to delete them I get an error message reading "cannot delete file: cannot read the source file or disc»

I tried to update the firmware, reset e260 to factory default settings and made 'restore' thingy (where you hold registration and plug it into the computer, etc.) and these files are still there.

After reading this thing of disk checking on this forum, I did this.  I was then able to remove two of the albums, but when I tried to delete the third album renamed 'a' and the damaged file shows 0 bytes in size, but I still can not remove.  However, I can move it to the folder music to any other folder.  I just can not remove!  When I do, I get an error message saying "cannot delete f: cannot find the file specified. '.  Be sure to only specify the path and the correct name.

After all that I started my e260, and now I find that 2 other albums are always on it, even if they do not display any where when I connect it to the computer.  I can see and read these albums on the drive, and they seem well, they do not appear to be there when I plug it into the computer and look for them in windows Explorer.  The music folder is not hidden also.  These two albums are not part 3 albums that I could not remove, they are actually part of the new substance started sort of all these problems with the music does not and is not only now that they are the display upwards and play but are not appear when connected to the computer!

I know it's probably not a lot of information but can someone tell me how to fix this?  If not, can I just format the * bleep * thing or I'll then have an e260 dead?

    See you soon,.

    PKFFW

PS: Sorry for the long windedness of this post.

Format will not remove the firmware, which is the operating system of the Sansa. It removes only the content that you have added. It will go back to what it was when it was new out of the box.

MTP does not matter if you have never used it. The ghost album can be just a list remains in your database file. Nevertheless, we must get rid of this corrupt file, so Format is probably your best option.

For what it's worth, to connect with the PSG, your computer needs Windows Media Player 10 or 11 is installed. XP comes with WMP 9, so he will not see the Sansa in MTP mode. unless you have updated.

Hello, we receive the following in Microsoft Windows 7:Folder in use error message, action cannot be completed because the folder or file is open in a different programClose the folder and try again. in fact, this problem occurs if we tried to copy, delete or rename folders or files on the server files (shared folder), if we sometimes we can do. For example, I tried to create a new folder or copy files on the file server (shared folder) 'I have all the permissions', then if I want to rename this file or delete it, I receive the high error. I did some research and found this Microsoft Support article:http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=kb%3Ben-us%3B949857&x=8&y=13, but it only applies to the Win 2008 and Vista (not for Win 7), but I install the fix on Win 7 and still have the same question.
