Old post I know but I had this problem on several of my removable HDs, and finally I managed to remove the 'System Volume Information' folder:

DO NOT DO THIS ON YOUR C: DRIVE OR YOUR WINDOWS HARD DRIVE!

Right click on desktop, and then click [New-> shortcut]
    Write: cmd.exe

Click [next] and then click [finish]

Right click on cmd.exe icon, and then click 'run as administrator'
Now select the external hard drive (f: in my case)

    C:\>f:

Yes now the following (you can copy paste):
    F:\>attrib s h/s/d
    F:\>attrib - r/s/d
    F:\>Rd "System Volume Information" / s
Are System Volume Information, you sure (Y/N)? There

    And you're DONE ;-)

I can't delete the folder... whenever I try to delete an error that says "cannot find com4.

I already have the permissions using the... tried Security tab the 'icacls'... also tried 'Take Ownership' method method...
    But nothing helped...
When I tried to copy the folder on the desktop the below error appears 4 times
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    It is no longer in

    2. Type the following command and press ENTER:
      RD /s /q \\.\H:\Seven\S-1-5-21-842925246-2025429265-682008880-1013\com4
  • Cannot delete the folder of online storage

Although I don't use SkyDrive, I thought that someone could help me with a problem I have with a cloud storage; I can't delete a file zip of my stock, which is an integral part of my Web-based e-mail program. I put a check mark in the box next to the folder (not file), press DELETE, OKAY the confirmation but nothing happens; the record remains in place. Is there a way to access storage and deleting the folder from command line? I'll be very grateful to anyone who has a suggestion. I have Windows XP Pro SP3 and IE8, which are up to date.

    Hello

This thread has been created in the SkyDrive forum; the Microsoft moderation team has moved this thread in forum Windows XP files, records and research .

  • Cannot delete the folder of the user

    Original title:

Help me, I can't delete the user record, even I have loged on as an administrator. I used Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit

    Please give feed back imiedietly

If you are referring to in the record of user directly under the users profile folder, it is protected.  The only way to delete normally is to delete the account of user via the control panel / user accounts and choose to also delete user files when you are prompted.
It would be foolish if you want to keep the user account, but delete the folder of the user.

  • Cannot delete the folder Adobe Reader 11.0?

While transferring adobe reader for my other HARD drive, I dropped accidentally the folder on my desktop. I thought none of cela and after that all that was done I tried to remove it from my office and now it keeps telling me I don't have permission. I am the only user and I have of course the administrator and I checked properties that tell me that everything has total control. I tried to remove it while in safe mode, I removed drive adobe completely from my computer and I still can't. Allow me to remove the files are ' identity-H ' and ' identity-V ' files in the folder of the CMap. I was able to delete the folder from anywhere except my office.

You can't move a program installed in this way, at least not under Windows.  You must uninstall and then reinstall it on the other drive.

  • Cannot delete the folder in Task Scheduler

I had a few problems with the tasks does not Task Scheduler, so I'll try to remove all the tasks that I added and start over.  I managed to delete all tasks and associated files except one.  I deleted the actual task, but when I try to delete the folder, I get a message that I first need to delete all tasks in this folder... but there is no task.  How can I get this folder suppressed?  Thank you.

    dcraw999,
You have tried this already (but I see not mentioned far)... On the right side of the Task Scheduler is the section actions. Try clicking view, and then click 'Show hidden tasks' and see if makes a task appears under the folder that you want to remove

  • How can I delete the folder of Windows Explorer owner?

I right-click and select Remove.  Message box warns me against that, but allows me to click "Yes" to go ahead and delete the folder.  This record remains.

Remove only their right click and select Remove from the navigation pane or library location.

  • Cannot delete the folder / tried various diets of 'ownership '.

There is a kind of corrupted file chrome left Google in program files after that I uninstalled chrome via "Win 7 programs and features. This file won't let me reinstall chrome. This has happened after cleaning by CCleaner. Size of the file is listed as 0 bytes.

Chrome is currently uninstalled. I can't delete the folder "C:\Program Files (x 86) \Google ' use one of the following plans:

    1. 'Ownership' context menu hack registration (works but no difference in deletability)
    2. Hidden administrator account (said again: access is denied when trying to remove it)
    3. Uncheck the 'read only' box in the properties of the folder (access denied)
    4. Properties-> Security-> Edit-> any changes to permissions (access denied)
    5. Properties-> Security-> Advanced-> Change the owner myself (supposedly it worked, but still can't remove)

There must be some deeper meaning to delete stuff than simplistic solutions, I can find online.

    Thank you.

If you need to delete the files or folders in a system directory, then you must first turn off UAC.

Alternatively, if you are familiar with the controls of the console, you can remove them under an elevated command prompt.

  • Cannot delete the folder windows.old with explore or disk cleanup

    Hello

I'm trying to remove my windows.old folder in my system disk and I tried following http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/How-do-I-remove-the-Windows-old-folder but Disk Cleanup doesn't show "Previous Windows installations" as an option to remove.

Explorer doesn't let me delete the files either. It keeps prompting by saying that I must have administrative permissions, even if I am logged in as a user who is a member of the Admin group! I tried to take possession of the file with no luck either.

How can I remove this folder?
