Cannot delete the odd device in network prefs: GT-I9305

Hello world

I just noticed this 'GT-I9305 device' in the pane of the preferences of my network, I can't remove it with the "-" and I can't make it inactive, someone has had this before, it is sign of a malware?

When I googled GT-I9305, it appears results on a smartphone from Samsung. Maybe it's because that someone connected a phone Samsung once? But then why can't remove it? I have admin rights and I entered my password when prompted ^^.

Thank you!

Hello!

Well, well, there are some documents are circulating. I had to get enough ice with my Google search term. Here are some links on the topic. I have Windows 10 Boot camped on my Mac. Networking, I've seen many phones from Samsung pop up and I have a RaLink Linux server somewhere in the neighborhood. Good for you that spot on the network of Mac! In one of the links (which seem more plausible), they're talking about blocking the MAC address of the device in the settings. I guess that lock it in your router. They talk about WPS (Wifi Protected Setup), but if use you it, like me, for the connection of printer and such, disabling WPS is perhaps not a good idea or will it one must set MAC address in the router - No. list!

The same thing happened to me when I tried to remove a bluetooth mouse, so that I can add another.

I tried the above solution presented by Angela T., as he made a lot of sense, but which still has not worked for me and the old mouse maintained reappear.

The problem I encountered was that I was using the Bluetooth devices icon in the box 'Notifications' from the background toolbar on the desktop (i.e. the lower right part of the screen where things like time, volume, etc., are displayed).
For some reason, try to remove the mouse open bluetooth devices window through this icon is mess up every time.

I managed to make it work in the pop-up toolbar that appears when you place your cursor in the lower right of your screen and clicking on 'settings' (the icon that looks like a gear) and then by clicking on "change pc settings" at the bottom.  This brought me to the 'Pc settings' window where I could add and remove devices.  Now when I tried to delete the old mouse and add the new to here, it worked perfectly fine.

Crazy, I know, but it fixed the problem for me.

  • Cannot delete the user (PCName) to network on the Windows 8.1 desktop locations

    Hello

I decided to build a new office and built once connected to my home network and "found" an old PC and quickly added 3 icons "Windows Media Player" under the network locations tab of the computer in Windows Explorer.

Each icon is labeled with (pcname) username, where username is a user account on the old PC, for example Paul (OurOldPC).

I am now trying to delete these 3 locations 'network' as this old PC is is more work, but try as I might I have not been able to do.

It seemed that it would be easy, I right click and then clicked on 'remove the instrument. He asked if I was sure that I wanted to remove it and I clicked on Yes. However, it is still there!

I had a glance through the registry and users/Paul/AppData but impossible to spot anything that had the air associated with the 3 locations.

I'd appreciate help on what is frustrating to have these 3 places to hang out.

When you connect under a different name, that the locations do not show, then it seems to be something specific to my account.

How can I remove these 3 places?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

    1. You are using cable or wireless network connection?
    2. You use a third-party antivirus program?
    3. You get the error message?

    Hi John,.

In response to your questions above:

    I use a wired network

    I use AVG Antivirus

    I have an error message.

While previously the solution I tried the regedit approach, but there is no profile other than the one that had an entry by name: ProfileName: data network.

Have to admit that I was not deleted as I was a little hesitant that it would be useful.

What I was doing well, it's once again try to remove office (x) via Windows Explorer.

I already said that right-click on the icon and slide on "Remove the instrument" has not removed the device, but I have since found that the selection of the device then goes to the "Media access" icon and selecting 'Disconnect from the media server' work.

I think I was probably made the wrong way before. My second approach has worked.

Thank you very much for you help in this area and I'm sorry to have wasted your time.

    Hello!
So I'm at the end of my rope with this one... it lasts for months, and I keep revisitng every two weeks to try and fix that and every time to be completely frustrated.  I found this forum tonight, so here goes...

We downloaded a few games on the HP Games Web site.  We download them and everything works fine.  Then, we will open the games and this pop up error message:
"Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file.  You can not have the appropriate permissions to access the item.

These games used to run fine, and I have no idea why they now have problems.  We have a Vista operating system, 1 account who is the administrator, the Parental control is disabled (or if we believe).

If anyone can please help it would be much appreciated!  We have a monthly membership to this site of game and continue to accumulate credits, but may not use it.  It makes us crazy!

    Thank you in advance!

    Hello Heathie,

Thank you for posting.  It seems that the program is no longer on your computer.  This can happen if the game files are deleted, but the game itself has not been uninstalled correctly.  I recommend you to download the game again to a location on your computer where you can easily find and install it.  This should fix the problem.

    Hey guys,.

I am running Vista on my laptop Toshiba P200D. Recently I was making an error whenever I try to open the files that I downloaded from the internet. The message I get is "windows cannot access the specified device path or file. you don't have the appropriate permissions to access the item "."

    I tried,

    • Safe mode (not to fix)
    • (No luck) system restore
    • check security options - I have full access to the file.

I am running Vista 32 bit. I have avast antivirus running, but is not working and im unable to uninstall it.

Any help will be accepted with gratitude,

    Thanks in advance,

    Chris.

    PS I'm the system administrator.

I do not fashion without failure, I advised a SafeMode with networking for network access using a wired connection to download and install Anti-Malware programs.

    If this does not work:

Download/save the removal of Avast on a friend's computer tool > transfer it using a Flash Player > uninstall the corrupt Avast.

Which can be the source of the problem.

As you can not turn it off:

If under warranty, contact the manufacturer of your laptop.

If this is not the case, take it to a reputable repair shop, computer room.

  • Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You can not have the appropriate permissions to access the item.

    Hello

I recently changed to use AVG free Antivirus Vista 2010 edition and since then (next day) seems to be locked out almost everything on the computer other then IE.  Open any kind of .exe translates into "Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You don't have the appropriate permissions to access the item. "I can access the Control Panel, but when I try to run something (a user restore Sys account) nothing happens or I get the same error.  I can not even access/cmd?

Operating system is vista 64 bit home premium
Computer has 1 which is defined as administrator SP1
Tried to do a restore of the system in normal mode and safe, the two will not start.

I have a feeling I know what the problem is, that when you look at the properties > Security "Progam files" in the 5 groupnames user administrator has not enabled in the lower area of permissions?  Guess a virus has locked all accounts to use the machine key files? (When editing and allowing the admin to have full control etc. in written authorization, I get an "access denied" Message.)  Be honest this really problems out of my PC knowledge, I would usually just reformat if I hit I can't solve a problem, but this time reformating is not the best option.

Thanks in advance for any help, I would really appreciate it, it left me speechless!

PS. read through the similar questions and have used the "fix windows' programs, with nothing working or me being not able to access something used.

    Hi Dany88,

First of all, I would say that you uninstall security antivirus vista 2010 of computer software, since there are several questions on the computer after installing. This software may have created conflicts between other programs on the computer.

As you face problems to access items from 'Control panel', I would say you visit the security software vendor's Web site and search a tool of suppression using which you can uninstall the software.

Important: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you do not disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network during the time that your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

If questions are set after uninstalling security software, I suggest that you change the security antivirus vista to some else software or contact the vendor of the software for more information.

I would also say that you are investigating the computer by using the methods mentioned in the link below.

    Hello

Download update and scan with the free version of malwarebytes anti-malware

    http://www.Malwarebytes.org/MBAM.php

You can also download and run rkill to stop the process of problem before you download and scan with malwarebytes

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/anti-virus/rkill

If it does not remove the problem and or work correctly in normal mode do work above in safe mode with networking

    Windows Vista

    Using the F8 method:

    1. Restart your computer.
    2. When the computer starts, you will see your computer hardware are listed. When you see this information begins to tap theF8 key repeatedly until you are presented with theBoot Options Advanced Windows Vista.
    3. Select the Safe Mode with networking with the arrow keys.
    4. Then press enter on your keyboard to start mode without failure of Vista.
    5. To start Windows, you'll be a typical logon screen. Connect to your computer and Vista goes into safe mode.
    6. Do whatever tasks you need and when you are done, reboot to return to normal mode.

    also run the sfc/scannow command.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833

Use the (SFC.exe) System File Checker tool to determine which file is causing the problem and then replace the file. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click principally madeprograms,Accessories, right-clickguest, and then clickrun as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or clickallow.
    2. Type the following command and press ENTER:
      sfc/scannow

The sfc/scannow command analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions

If SFC detects the main problems it can't fix you may need to borrow a Microsoft dvd vista not an acer, HP etc. recovery disk and do a repair installation

  • Windows cannot access the specified device path

I have a HP 2000 laptop with windows 7. I had problems playing a dvd. I can burn images and photos of viev on cd. When you try to play a dvd a message-" Windows cannot access the specified device path. You can have not permissions to access this item. "I uninstalled the drive so it is reinstalled on reboot of windows. I used to get a flag asking what program to open with. Now to see "cd" should open in my computer.

    I use Google chrome.

    Hey @Stern07 ,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand that you are unable to play the DVD on your laptop of HP 2000 by using Windows 7.

There may be an easier way to solve this problem, but it's the method that I am referring usually to when having this problem:

    1. launch Regedit (Windows key + R > type regedit > click OK).
    2. navigate in the tree of HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT > DVD > shell > play > order.
    3. double-click on the (default) value on the right side of the split dialog box (String edit dialog box should appear).
4 copy the contents of the value data field.
    5. click Cancel on the dialog box change the strings.

    Figure 1:

    6. right click on the right side of the split dialog box
    7. Select new-> expandable string value

    Figure 2:

    8. just press ENTER if the cursor is what allows you to change the name of the new value
    9. double-click on the new value that you just created (Edit String dialog should appear)
    10. glue the string that you have already copied in the value data field
    11. click OK in the Edit String dialog box

    Figure 3:

    12. now on the left side of the split dialog box, highlight the folder HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\DVD\shell\play\command
    13 right-click and choose export.
    14. save this file in a location of your choice and a name of your choice.

    Figure 4:

    15. close regedit.
    16. go to the location you saved the file.
    17. right click on the file, and then choose the Edit option (expected to launch the file open in Notepad (or any text editor).
    18. you should see something similar to (not just copy and paste what I have below, because this PC has installed WinDVD):

    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\DVD\shell\play\command]
    @= "Files \"C:\\Program (x86)\\InterVideo\\WinDVD\\WinDVD.exe\ '%1'.
    "New value #1" = hex (2): 22, 43, 00, 00, 3 a, 00 5 c 00, 50, 00, 72, 00, 6f, 00, 67, 00, 72, 00, 61,------.

    19. now delete the first line:
    @= "Files \"C:\\Program (x86)\\InterVideo\\WinDVD\\WinDVD.exe\ '%1'.

    20. now replace all in front of the remaining line with just the character = @, final result should look like:
