Cannot find paint - is no longer listed in all programs

I have Vista Home Premium.  My son and I have separate user accounts.  My son was connected to his user account, he entered in start - all programs and dragged painting on his desk, as he has the icon on his desktop.  However, when I login under my user account, I now can't find the painting because it is more listed in all programs and I don't have an icon on my desktop.  I'm looking for paint when you are connected to my user account.

Hello, horsedreamer72

Thanks for choosing Microsoft answers Forum!

Try to repeat the search Carey suggests, but instead of looking for the paint, look for: mspaint

The mspaint program shows in the search results?

When search you from the menu start, a list of search results will be displayed where the programs are normally. To return to the list of programs, click on the button just to the right of the search box.

You can find more information on the following Windows search feature: menu start (overview).

We can't wait to hear back on your part.

So, basically, I have a Windows Vista. I'm using Google Chrome, but that doesn't really count because I tried on all browsers. When I try to download something, it comes up with something like that... "Windows cannot find"C:\Users\User\Downloads\ ((name of the program here))". • All programs list - moved shortcut on the desktop, but want to add back to the list of all programs

I moved a shortcut from the list of all programs on the desktop.  I would like to keep the shortcut on the desktop, but also restore on all programs.  How can I do this?  I tried drag-and-drop and Windows Explorer without success.  Topic is not found in help.  Windows XP Professional SP3.

the visual office includes folders and you can copy the shortcut via Solution Explorer.

simply right-click on the Start button and select open.

Explorer opens on the behalf of users.

If you look closely, you will see a folder called desktop.

    find the shortcut, then copy.

Find the folder of programs all then drill down to the subfolder you want and paste the shortcut in him.

You can also use the above method to organize your desktop.

Incidentally, do not play with the admin folder or all users.

  • Progams in x 86 folder do not appear in the Listing of all programs

I just upgraded to Vista 64 bit Ultimate for Windows 7 64 bit Ultimate and good number of my x 86 programs do not appear in the list of programs all in fact you can even find them using the search command, but they are clearly there in the X 86 folder. I know that I can create a shortcut on my desktop or pin them to the start menu, but there are literally dozens of programs in there that I use semi systematically in the X 86 folder that I don't want on my desk or pinned to the start menu. Often when I try and call a program of a doucument windows comes up with the association of file menu, but the program (X 86) is not displayed. Is this a bug with my system or a known problem such as Google Earth users know ovet the past year where as a result of an upgrade of the Windows program removes program form the list of all programs and removes the desktop icon?

    Hello Scourtercraig,

A similar thread has responded here. I also found a third party article in which to some people have found a solution: Windows 7 - 86 program files not showing in the Start Menu. I hope it helps.

  • Could someone please help me access My VLC Player on my list of 'all programs '?

    Hello

I was on the wrong forum, so I'm starting a new thread. I have a laptop HP, Windows 7 Home, 64 bit. I use VLC player and WMP for different purposes.

For some reason any I don't have easy access to my program VLC. It is not on my list of 'all programs '. I went to start, and search and the program wouldn't come to the top. The only two places I can find it listed on my Uninstall list and default programs. I can't right click anywhere to get a drop down menu to work with. What should do?

    Anne

    And yet a third wire.

1: remove VLC completely from the list 'uninstall '.

    2: restart your PC.

3: go here and download VLC. Choose Save as and save it in your download folder. Do not race. http://www.videolan.org/VLC/index.html

4: close all other programs and turn off your security system and then find VLC in the downloads folder and install it.

5: look at all the options. Especially to add desktop and Start Menu icons.

    6: restart.

  • Arrange program shortcuts in the list of all programs on the start menu

If I organize my program shortcuts on the list of all programs from the menu start when I reboot they are all changed back.

As in, I move the "CyberLink PowerDVD 9" folder in the "Media" folder when I restart a new

Folder "CyberLink PowerDVD 9" is placed on the list of all programs on the start menu.

Now I have two folders "CyberLink PowerDVD 9" in all the programs one at the root of the list and the other in the folder 'Media' from the list.

How to stop windows 7 to change the list of all programs on the start menu?

Is it only occurs for the shortcut of CyberLink, or perhaps for each shortcut where you changed a location?

You can check this: Start > right click on all programs > you can select Open and open to all users > you can check is not listed in the two location?

Shortcuts usually appear at the previous location after a few updates to the specified application.

  • Cannot find paint in windows xp

I cannot locate the windows program paint that comes with windows xp operarating system

    It is the default location:

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\mspaint.exe
You can also find a shortcut here:
Start | All programs | Accessories | Paint
  • Cannot find 'Paint' under 'Accessories'... or anywhere!

I can't find "Paint" under "Accessories" using Firefox 14. When I used 'Help' and ask a question about how to use 'Paint' of information arises allows me to get paint by clicking a button.

My questions: is there a way I can get to paint without having to ask a question each time to use it... or, a more direct route to painting, if you want?

    Thank you.
    Fred

If you go to the box "search programs and files" immediately above the paint start button and type ' ' it should show in the list of found items.  If you don't want to do this every time, you can click it in the list and choose "Pin to Start Menu" or "PIN to the taskbar.  Another option would be to choose "Copy" then move it to the desktop, right click and choose 'Paste shortcut'.

If you can't find it via the method above, the painting is located in %windir%\system32\mspaint.exe (usually get you there by clicking on the Start button, clicking on 'Computer' in the right column, and then navigate through the BONE (usually C) drive, then the "Windows" directory, and then "System 32" directory and then search for "mspaint"

Once you have found, you can right-click on it and choose "Pin to Start Menu" or "PIN to the taskbar.  Another option would be to choose "Create shortcut" and have put a shortcut on the desktop.

Another option is to download and use a free powerful paint programs: http://www.getpaint.net/

  • Windows Media Center is not in the list of all programs - Vista Home Premium

Hi, I can't find Windows Media Center on my computer - I have Windows Vista Home Premium.

I try to use my TV on my computer. It has a built-in TV Tuner. But I can't find Media Center.

I know when I got the computer last year - it came with something to activate the TV - but I have no internet at this point - so nothing could be done. Since then, I've upgraded to Service Pack 2. All the documentation said that Media Center should be there. I've looked everywhere and Media Center does not appear to be more!

Can you please help - if I don't now how can I access the Media Center.

    Thanks in advance.

    Julie

Thanks for this, before I saw this, I worked on how to solve this problem.

First, I downloaded the cumulative update for Windows Media Center-still nothing.

Then I peeked my Control Panel/Default Programs/Set Program Access and Computer Defaults.

My settings were now on the custom, and default media player - tick on "Enable access to this program" next to Windows Media Center had been removed! (of course by another media program)-I reticked this box and as if by magic, the program appeared in all programs and was now visible to the rest of the computer. "

This setting should make it invisible to the rest of the computer - he of course does not use if it is checked.

(I also found once I ticked the box next to Windows Media Player (who had also disappeared, even if it was marked as a media player by default) - he also appeared in the all programs list- and he had never been there before!) I know because I had to go and insert my link on the desktop to access it.

All sorted - what a huge relief. Just as it takes.

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not see Desktop Manager in my list of all programs on the start menu

I just installed the Blackberry Desktop Manager for Blackberry 7100i Nextel (version 4.1.0.376).

It does not appear under all programs on my Winxp start menu.    It seemed to install correctly, but it just doesn't appear in the start menu.    I removed it by following the instructions (requiring the removal of certain registry entries and files and more using Add/Remove programs in the control panel).

I reinstalled the program and it will not always be displayed on the start menu.    I can run a couple of .exe files and run it manually, but I don't get the full program.

I am the administrator of my pc Windows XP Professional.

Any ideas on what could be the problem?

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

Yes, that would do makes a difference. For reference, the best procedure must first install the full package of DTM (what version you need for your PIM version if you plan to synchronize via attached USB/BT), then, at the top of the DTM installed, your bundle of BONES of carriers (which modifies DTM so that it can provide you with options that apply to you).

You can edit your previous post - but it's actually better not unless there is a real error needing correction. It is good to leave the wire in place just in case someone in the future should have a similar situation... so that they can find your description and solution and I hope to find their response without the need to post a new thread.

Oh yes, once you are sure that it is resolved, please don't forget to mark the thread as solved.

    Best!
