just updated my computer by adding more memory but I can't get any sound on my speakers

The turntable is fitted with a driver, which I installed it, but any square I check in audio controls, I can't hear a record playing. I also have a USB tape device that converts audio cassettes, but the same thing happens. I am running Windows XP with an integrated sound card.
Make sure that the USB turntable is selected as default recording device in the Windows mixer, and possibly in the embedded audio devce sofoware.
Ditto when you use the device USB K7.

I can't offer any additional information as above. One minute my volume icon was there, the next day it was gone.

To redisplay your volume icon in the taskbar
(a) click Start.
(b) in the search line type TASKBAR and STARTMENU
(c) of the list of programs select bar TASKS and STARTMENU
(d) select the tab area of Notification and under the system icons section, place a check next to VOLUME
(e) click apply and then click OK
It should be visible in the toolbar again.

ive installed win 7 home premium 32 bit but can't get any sound.
I downloaded the drivers available here but still no joy?
I then started to vista only to find yet, I couldn't get all of her even if the drivers installed etc...
Also read here that it's realtek hardware so I downloaded drivers off there website but still no joy.

You must use the Conexant audio driver

Toshiba Satellite L100 113 PSLA3E-02401JRU starts slowly after upgrade memory with Kingston KTT533D2-512 (512 MB) of memory.
When I press the 'power' button, it flashes, starts the fans and HARD drive several times. Then it shows BIOS start messages by memory full 768 MB and starts Windows XP without a problem.
This behavior is noticed only after "shut down."
It does not happen with "restart".

Have you used exactly the same memory modules?
If this isn't the case, then perhaps there are a few compatibility issues.
Usually, after the insertion of the modules you must enter the BIOS and then save the settings. Please it and eventually the laptop will start without any problems.
Vista problem - dns related navigation
I am running Vista on a laptop computer with connection mobile broadband and a standard dial-up connection. I connect directly to the internet and have no router or other devices on the network. I'm having a problem getting any browser to operate. IE 9 says that it cannot display the web page, and Chrome gives me a dns error message. I can ping to a numeric ip address, but I can't ping an address like www.google.com.
What I tried:
I ran two different anti-virus programs to check the virus. None have been found.
I reset IE 9.
Checked to see if the connection has been put in place in order to get the dns settings automatically and when this does not work, I tried to manually enter the IP addresses of known dns servers. It didn't work either so I went back to the automatic selection.
I have disabled all programs to determine if there was a conflict from starting.
I emptied the dns cache and reset winsock.
I have reset TCP/IP according to the instructions I found on this site.
I removed all anti-virus programs, thinking we could have a hidden firewall that was blocking me.
None of this solves the problem. I ran ipconfig/all and there's ip address for dns servers.
I'm puzzled. This problem occurred when I installed a program to dial for my dial-up service. I uninstalled the program, but that has not solved the problem. Another fact that may or may not be relevant, is that I also lost all my printing capabilities (no printer approved and it will not let me install a).
Any help would be greatly appreciated because my computer is now almost useless.
Edit: I use the same ISP of this post (on another computer) so I know that the problem is not at the isp. I would also add that Windows diagnostics are not useful. He just tells me to connect a LAN cable. I would also add that I can actually use Skype so I know that I connect to the internet ok. nslookup works.
have you tried a system restore?
If you have a restore repointer forward this question comes up, I would say that that restoration. It causes makes it sound like some reg problems (but please don't use a reg cleaner)

Sounds like speaker issue.
What cell phone do you have exactly?
Have you tried reinstalling the audio driver?
You have a Realtek HD audio Manager in the control panel?
If Yes, check the advanced options in the upper right corner.

All of a sudden I can not any sound on AOL. How should I do? I clicked on the icon of audio (lower-right on the desktop) and click on mixer but did not find anything abnormal. Clicked on aol and sounds found on its default with windows. When I test it, it sounds, but that's the extent of it. Power off this Board and back to AOL, I still get no sound. Help if possible.

My sound does not work in Windows 10. No sound at all from YouTube videos, music and media players, Windows system sounds, etc.
The first step in troubleshooting I recommend is the easiest: restart your computer. Sometimes a single application can take control of your audio device and do not let all the other apps use, but you can release this control by restarting.
Here are a few others not you can try:
- Run the audio troubleshooting tool in Windows
- Try to connect headphones or a pair of external speakers
- Set the default audio device to make sure that your computer sends the audio output of the device
- If your computer comes with 10 Windows installed, you can restore the driver of its origin in the HP Recovery Manager, or to update the driver through Device Manager
- If you upgraded your computer to Windows 10, you can update the audio driver in Device Manager
- Reset your laptop

After upgrading my iMac (late 2009) to El captain the sound no longer works. Trying to open the preferences-> the error message appear that this could not be loaded. Other sounds associated with apps like audio / midi set up crashes.
Please launch the Console application in one of the following ways:
