  I understand that you can not get the printer connected to your Windows laptop. You are on the right track, you need to download HP ENVY 5530 e-all-in-one of the printer drivers. Select your operating system, and then click the button "next". Scroll down and click on "Driver - Product Installation software. Click Printer series e-all-in-one HP Envy 5530 full feature software and driver. This should bring up the download page, click on the 'Download' button and I suggest saving it to your desktop and run the installation from there.

  I have 3 desktop computers running Windows 7, all networking, all in a homegroup with a HP all-in-One printer attached to one of the desktop computers. I also have a Toshiba laptop, also Windows 7 computer in wireless network and as part of the homegroup. When I print from the laptop, sometimes it will print and other times, it will send the print job but it's like the printjob enters the twilight zone and nothing happens.   I have a HP Envy 4524. I can print from my Ipad but not my laptop HP Pavilion. When I try to print from my laptop paper feeds by perfectly, but there is no printing on it. There is no question from my ipad. I've already printed normally from the laptop to the printer. Any help appreciated. I should add that test printing prints perfectly. His only docs etc.

  You use a different wireless router now that yopu use Uverse?  Is the printer connected to a PC in your local network, or is it wireless itself?  Open your printers folder and right click on the print queue.  Click on properties.  Select the Ports tab.  Scroll down to the port that you use for the queue.  What is an IP address?  If so, is this the right place?  If you have changed wireless routers, the local address may be different from what it was with the old router.   I have a new Surface Windows RT (not 8.1) and I'm unable to connect to my printer wireless on my home wireless network.  The printer (Brother MFC-J625JW) is listed as a compatible printer Windows RT by Microsoft and brother.  My printer is on, visible on my laptop Windows 7 via the wifi network and works normally.  The Surface is connected to the same network.  I entered in the control panel > adding a device.  The printer does not appear in the list.  In fact, the only thing that appears in the list (momentarily) is someone from another PC - but not my printer.   How can I get the Surface to find my wireless printer that seems to operate other devices normally and is on the same wireless network?  Thank you.

  Success.  The wireless printer now appears in the "Devices list".    The breakthrough came after installing the Windows Update screen Firmware updates.  I had already updated for Windows RT 8.1 (after my original message) from the window Store (free), but that has not fixed the problem.  I then went in the Panel, search the Windows updates.  Windows found 27 updates of firmware update that it installed.  2 reboots are needed.  After that, the printer has appeared in my list of devices.

  3. never checked directly connect USB since the Surface RT (now 8.1) was showing the printer.
