Cannot get rid of old playlists?

In USB mode, I copied several specific, like 'John Mayer' for example, music files from my PC to my Droid 2 music folder. They appear fine under artists, Albums, songs and Playlists. However, there are a bunch of other entries in my menu playlist, some of them 2 or 3 times. They are probably the last attempts. How can I get rid of them?

Using the 'File' utility > phone files > music only those I want is here. Where the hell are the others and how to remove them? Thanks for the help, I need, I'm old :-) LOVE MY DROID 2 - Im

If you use the native music player (which seems pretty good) and you have playlists list "Playlist" tab, just tap and hold the (s) you want to remove, and then choose "Delete" from the context menu. -MarkC
