Cannot get sync contacts in GMAIL for windows 8

I had to uncheck sync contacts to get GMAIL to work.  Now I don't know how to get synced to the rear.

Google blocks it from users of Windows 8, there is no way to directly synchronize with Google contacts.  Google can always connect to your account online if instead.

  • How can I get a key product validation for Windows XP to the OEM of Vista Business downgrade, which came with my laptop?

I recently bought an Asus laptop that came with a genuine product key Vista Business OEM. I want to downgrade to XP and have installed a copy of XP OEM for this purpose I have found information on the internet indicating that I would be able to contact Microsoft, explain my desire to downgrade, to provide them with my Vista Business product key, and they would provide me a product key for XP, I could then use to activate the copy of XP I have installed.

However, it seems that it is more possible, because all the support activation is automated, and I was able to get a Microsoft service on the phone representative to activate my new installation of XP. How can I do to receive a product key for XP and activation of my installation?

    Thank you

    Scott

Thanks for the replies, you two! I called Asus, and they said that, since they do not recommend the downgrade, they do not downgrade disks provide, or provide for XP Pro license keys in case a user wants to downgrade. I told them about the rights of download, which I had heard before on the MS site support and they have always said they wouldn't / couldn't provide me with a license key, even if it was for OEM Windows XP distribution. Ah, well!

I don't think that Asus just "recommended" it or not!

    They must conform to Microsoft.

Yes. Right of demotion OEM desktop operating systems PC apply to Windows Vista business and Windows Vista Edition full, as stated in the terms of the license. End users can use the following media for their downgrade: Volume Licensing media (provided that the end-user has a Volume License Agreement), trade retail (FPP) or System Builder hologram CD (provided that the software is acquired in accordance with the Microsoft OEM System Builder License). Use of degraded operating system is governed by the Windows Vista Business license terms, and the end user cannot use the downgrade and professional Windows Vista operating system. There is no right of demotion for Windows Vista Home Basic or Windows Vista Edition Home Premium.

original title: why my XP pro does not accept the following security update? Update security for Windows XP (KB2686509)

    Hello

I'm not really very good which is why I chose to use automatic updates. I recently got 'updates are ready for your computer' and when I start to download it stops pretty quickly and said:

The following updates have not been installed.

Update security for Windows XP (KB2686509)

Is there a wat to fix this problem without needing to know the registrys etc.

    Thank you

    Mick

See my post on the third page of this topic which contains detailed instructions for anyone with this problem. Go to the bottom of this page and click Next until you get to page three.

Thanks for the update Mick. You should be able to double-click the file to open it in the command prompt. I did not write the script, so I can't tell you why you were unable to launch it by double clicking. Right click and choose to run it in command line will still work.

@ Icom756pro I do not work for Microsoft, then you would be best suited to forward your complaint directly to them. I understand your frustration, however. I can only recommend that you try the script that I've linked to page 1 of this topic. If this does not resolve the problem then simply hide the update. You should not be prompted to install later.

  • Is there a way I can get even SP2 and SP3 for windows xp home edition to my pc that had been in storage since 2007?

I tried to go to windows update but redirected to micrsoft support page, which offers no SP2 and SP3 for windows XP Pro, and yet I don't have a network of computers running windows XP Pro download the SPs would be a disater as it is intended for more than one PC.

It does not give the notice to go to the windows update page, but I can't get there because I do not have windows XP SP 3 installed on my pc, and even if I have it on a disc I couldn't install it anyway because SP 2 is not installed on this pc.

So this pc seems to be thrown into a sort of limbo XP, does anyone know a way I can get these much needed without breaking service packs?

  • When you run sfc/scannow, using i386, getting the error "files required for Windows to run correctly have been replaced by unrecognized versions.»

When I run the sfc/scannow, I get a message telling me "files which are required for Windows to run properly have been replaced by unrecognized versions." To maintain stability, Windows must restore the original versions of these files. Insert your Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 3 CD now"with options; try again, more information or to cancel.

Maybe someday the dialog box 'ask a question' forums XP will ask these questions automatically when a new thread is started so I don't have to ask every time.  It might even be possible to solve a problem in a single response when enough information is provided.

Please provide additional information on your system:

What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?

Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Panda, Trend Micro, CA, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, Comodo, etc..

If you have a genuine XP installation CD bootable which corresponds to your currently installed Service Pack, you won't get away with instructions to run sfc/scannow.

Windows file protection wants to replace a file of the backup copy he keeps in the dllcache folder and WFP found that the backup copy of the file on your system is not look right, so he complains (there is a list of 3498 files PAM knows).

When you see the original message, if you click Cancel, then choose 'keep' the file afflicted, you will see a warning message, and then a message like this in the case where the system log viewer:

    Event type: Information
    Event source: Windows File Protection
    Event category: no
    Event ID: 64005
    Description:
The protected system file taskmgr.exe had not been restored in its original, valid version because the Windows File Protection restoration process was cancelled by user interaction, user name is Jose.  The file version of the bad file is unknown.

As you can see, the file that WFP is concerned is clearly stated in the paper, so now you know what is the file.

For the above example, I used my (taskmgr.exe) Task Manager file to reproduce the problem.  You need to see what your event viewer message says.

When you know what the file is, you can decide what to do about it.  There are probably other copies of the files on your system, or you can get the files from another source.

A shortcut to the event viewer is to click on start, run and enter in the box:

    eventvwr.msc

Click OK to launch the event viewer.

Check your event observer system log and look for a proposed Windows file protection event.

If you double-click on an event, it will open a window of properties with more information.  On the right are black up and down arrow keys to scroll through the open events. The third button that looks like two overlapping pages is used to copy the details of the event in your Windows Clipboard.

When you find an interesting event that occurred at the time of your question, click on the third button at the top and arrows to copy the details and then you can paste the details (right click, paste or CTRL-V) the text in detail here for analysis.  Remove personal information from your information
After having stuck if you are forced to do so.
