Cannot import mp3 files in Windows Movie Maker 6 under Vista. Error ".mp3 could not be imported.
Original title: Impossible to import the mp3 downloads in Windows Movie Maker Version 6: circle of the keeps popping up saying that... with a red and white X: Music\Amazon MP3\LMFAO\Party Rock (Amazon MP3 Exclusive Version) [Explicit] \09 - hits [Explicit] .mp3 could not be imported.
Currently, I did a video using Windows Movie Maker Version 6. I downloaded several downloads mp3 audio and have only been able to import a couple of them in Windows Movie Maker. I downloaded three downloads of specific music that will not matter. The box that opens is not give me a code or something that it either just States the following: C:\Users\b-radd\Music\Amazon MP3\LMFAO\Party Rock (Amazon MP3 Exclusive Version) [Explicit] \09 - hits [Explicit] .mp3 would not be imported.
I have no explanation, and it makes no sense that I can download some but not all mp3 downloads. What can I do to be importable download music in Windows Movie Maker? or import music that I already paid for and tried to import?
Hello, guenoun.
I seem to have the same problem as tantoe but when I clicked on the link in your message, it took me to the page, but the person's recommendation was not good; It (don't remember the name) had two links to click & when I clicked on the two I was redirected to a page that says that the page could not be found.
The song with that I have a problem is "I'm in love (with a killer)" by Jeffree Star &, as with all my other audio files that I did NOT have this problem with, is mp3 format. I have a video in mind with this song & pictures I saved star but Windows Movie Maker cannot import it.
If there is anything you could do, advice you could give, I would really appreciate it. This is my favorite song by Jeffree Star & it drives me crazy not being able to import it into Movie Maker. :-/

Impossible to import PowerPoint file in Windows Movie Maker - codec error
I am tryping to import a PowerPoint file into Windows Movie Maker to burn it to a DVD, but I get a codec error
Cannot import the file C:\Users\Karen\Documents\2009 Fundraiser\Yellow Rose 2009.ppt MWP because the necessary codec to play the file is not installed on your computer. If you have already tried to download and install the codec, close and restart Windows Movie Maker, and then try to re-import the file.
How can I find this codec and install it?
Blond highlights Hello,
Thanks for posting in the Microsoft answers Forum. Usually, when you try to play a video in Media Player if you do not have the right codec Media Player will automatically download and install the correct codec if it is available. Since this is a Power Point presentation has video embedded in it? If so, try to play the video file outside the Power Point presentation and Media Player will go out and get the correct codec if you are connected to the internet. Here is an article from the Microsoft Knowledge base that explains Media player codecs and configuration to automatically download:

I hope this information is useful.

When I import a video file into Windows Movie Maker, it plays the video and no Audio how to import the video file so that it contains the audio when the time to line up? Help?
Watch the video file. The last 3 letters represent the file format.
Windows Movie maker only supports the following video file formats:
Video files: .asf, .avi, .dvr-ms, .m1v, .mp2, .mp2v, .mpe, .mpeg, .mpg, .mpv2, .wm, and .wmv
If yours is not on the above list, Movie Maker will have probel play.
In this case, you will have to google for a free video converter and change the format of your video file to WMV. WMV format is the most reliable format for Windows. For the benefits of others looking for answers, please mark as answer suggestion if it solves your problem.

Cannot open a project in Windows Movie Maker after the backup in Windows DVD Maker
I imported with success of media in Windows Movie Maker, Movie published by using Windows DVD Maker as a guest just so that I could see how it would look. I was able to view what I had engraved on a DVD and was very happy about how he already produces. When I returned to Windows Movie Maker and tried to open my project to continue adding multimedia elements to it, I can't open it - it tells me that it is not a valid file in Windows Movie Maker. Can find my project in My Documents in the category Videos, I'm still not able to open it. I wonder if I shouldn't have saved in Windows DVD Maker. I hope that I'm not "all over again.
I would greatly greatly appreciate it if anyone can help. It is a very special project for a class reunion.
This is the first time I used a forum so I hope I've submitted it correctly.
Thank you!
NancyLouse,
Windows DVD Maker and Movie Maker store files with different file extensions. This means that if you named the file 'file Movie Maker' and the DVD Maker 'file' file the real file names would actually file. MSWMM and file. MSDVD
To display the extensions on all the files follow these steps:
-Click on the ORB to start and Control Panel
-In Control Panel, click Classic view in the upper left corner
-Click on Folder Options, click view
-Scroll to "Hide Extensions for known Types file" and uncheck this boxThe search in the folder now where you saved these files or use the search function, you should see the 2 different files.
What version of Windows are you using? If the Windows Vista Ultimate and the file has been deleted somehow you can be lucky.
Vista Ultimate is a feature called previous versions. To restore the file back to it's previous state, you can do a right click on the folder where the document has been stored (if the Documents may start, right-click on Documents) then go to properties
-Click the previous versions and you will see the dates corresponding to previous versions of the file you are looking at.
-Select a date and time that corresponds to when the file in this folder was in operational condition and double-click the file to open itFind the file in the folder newly open and drag the file to your desktop (be sure not to drag to the exact location where the file was initially as not to overwrite the file).
I hope this helps

Download iTunes files in Windows Movie Maker on a downloaded CD?
Hey,.
I'm doing a movie in WMM, and I tried to go into iTunes and import the music on a CD that I had already imported into iTunes. He gave me something the codec is not installed.
For the record: I have already read the answer of Yes, and it does not help me because it was things I had not bought and downloaded from iTunes. These songs, I am trying to import came from a CD, I bought in a store and jumped in my computer. Any help? I'm relatively stupid when it comes to such things, so it would be easy, plain-English-non-tech-chamois terms useful.* *.
Thanks in advance! (:

Hi, pepper,1. you try to import the music from iTunes to WMM (Windows Movie Maker)? The files you want to import into WMM should be supported by WMM else, you will get this error message.

I get an error message "Cannot C:\Users\Paul\Music\iTunes\iTunes Music\Victor Johnson\Fire security Songs\03 Smokey the Bear.mp3 imported." frequently when you try to import tracks .mp3 to my Windows Movie Maker files. It doesn't make a difference if I buy these titles on Amazon or iTunes, or does it make a difference if I create an .mp3 version in iTunes until I try the import. Other titles will not simply import.
