  Printing a test page for the printers in question themselves is no problem, and both work with other computers... models; Samsung CLP-310 & HP Deskjet 2100 series... This problem becomes very frustrating and I hope someone has an answer that can rectify the problem... just about the system I'm running, every update from windows update has been installed, the computer running a multitude of third party programs that a Samsung tech support Advisor advised could cause problems but a start secure with nothing else than to spool of printer running stuff does not seem to progress...

  Thanks for your help... kind of 2 steps before if... I did a reimage with the CD boot ASUS as a person don't bother to give me a real vista CD, I was about to dual boot with XP and c If vista was the problem (glad that I na not wasting time on that), but that did not help at all... first of all 3rd party was installed the printer still gives me the same error... I thought it might be a cause of thing BIOS which was one of the only things left that has remained the same throughout the process... While on the site of asus looking for an update of bios thingy I fell in the forums where someone had the same problem (haha only cause I was searching by model number of the laptop for the update) , and it turns out that the solution is the following;

  Add text next to a NAME.reg file, then merge into the registry... do not know why it works, but here it is;

  I have an Epson SX200 printer all-in-one and I am trying to install the device on a Vista 32 Dell laptop.  I don't have the disk for the printer, so I try to download the drivers for the printer on the epson site.

  I downloaded the drivers scanner and software sucsessfully, trying to download the point of finishing extracing printer driver files, I get an error message saying "Windows cannot install your printer driver and / or public services."

  I tried the support of epson who tried intsalling the pilot from other web sources, bottom of dissabling starting programs, etc.

  I searched the web but cannot find any patches or explanation to the problem...

  Any ideas?

  Windows Server 2008 network.  Printers have ip addresses. Install the drivers from the Print Manager.  /Terminal Server Workgroup installation.

  It's the same situation with XP.  The print driver names must match.  If you notice the name of the printer driver that uses XP is a name different from the one that is installed when you plug in the device on the Windows 7 computer.  This is just my assumption, please correct me if this isn't the case.

  The real solution is to install a 32-bit driver on the XP machine that uses the same name that the 64-bit driver and share a printer using this driver or find a 64-bit driver that uses the same name as the 32-bit driver installed on XP and install the driver on XP.

  I'm trying to install my new printer Photosmart C4780 on my MacBook Pro, OX 10.6.  I downloaded the software for this version of Mac OS X (the CD has no support for 10.6).  At the beginning of the installation, I wonder for the device to install - but it cannot be found.  The instructions say DO NOT attach the cable USB front said to do, but even if I do that I can't find the device.  In addition, paper installation instructions say to follow the guide of Installer for easy wireless installation animation a button - but all this guide says is how to install printer cartridges.  I tried to reach the telephone technical support without result - especially get cut off by the system, but if I do not reach a real person, they tell me that they don't support Macs (even if I take the Mac option when selecting meny).  So, I can not install the printer (and scan) and can get no information on what to do.   Here's the real solution directly from Kodak:

  The problem is with Windows 7 64-bit architecture. You will need this MS XML missing from here:

  Click on the first download link: msxml.msi (2.0 MB). Download to your desktop or where you can find it easily.

  IF (IF) you've already tried installing Kodak with failure, uninstall the printer by clicking Start > Control Panel > programs > uninstall a program and choose all the Kodak software.

  Then click START, type RUN. Type services.msc. From there, you can see the list of current services. Find print spooler and select Restart in the upper left corner. If you see Hello or associations with Kodak, restart them. Click on exit.

  Return to your MS XML download and double-click it to run it. It will close automatically after installation.

  Download it on your desktop or where you can find it easily.
