You can disable hibernation if it is enabled and you do not...

When you Hibernate your computer, Windows saves the contents of the system memory in the hiberfil.sys file. As a result, the size of the hiberfil.sys file will always be equal to the amount of physical memory in your system. If you don't use the Hibernate feature and want to reclaim the space used by Windows for the hiberfil.sys file, perform the following steps:

-Start the Control Panel Power Options applet (go to start, settings, Control Panel, and then click Power Options).
-Select the Hibernate tab, uncheck "Activate the hibernation", and then click OK. Although you might think otherwise, selecting never under "Hibernate" option on the power management tab does not delete the hiberfil.sys file.

  • Pavilion 15-e092ea: does not not after installing updates from HP HP Support Assistant

I was warned of three updates two days before and went to install them before moving on to Windows 10.

I was warned that several reboots may be required.

Several reboots produced, but now, I find that whenever I try to launch tune it just tells me that a restart is required. This must happen at least 10 times.

I can't get further and assume that the software has stopped working properly.

Thanks, your solution was my instinct, but I just wanted to check if there was an another known issue with the latest updates.

I uninstalled the support assistant as suggested and downloaded the latest version.

    Everything works fine.

    Hi Cécile khan,.

Follow the suggestions below for a possible solution:

Method 1: I suggest you consult the site mentioned below:

Temporary connection related errors may occur when you use Windows Update or Microsoft Update

Important note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    Method 2: Manually install updates

Step 1: Steps to find the update does not install

    a. click Start, click all programsand then click Windows Update or Microsoft Update.

    b. click view update history. A window opens that displays all the updates that are installed and those who have not installed properly on the computer.

    c. in the status column, find the update which do not install and then click on the red X.

Step 2: Manually download and install the update using the link below:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/downloads

Method 3: Follow the steps listed in the following article to resolve the problem:

  • Cannot use, uninstall or reinstall HP Support Assistant

I had a crash of hard disk and reinstalled from a backup, but the restoration was not complete. Things work pretty well, but not 100%. The key is that my HP Support Assistant PC health does not work and I can't uninstall or reinstall. They are not in the list of installed programs. I get the message that there is already a version of the wizard for help on my drive, whether the download don't reinstall or update.

I have a HP Pavilion (all-in-One) MS-225 with Win7 Home Premium, 64-bit. It's a year and a half, is no longer under warranty. Is there a way out of this dilemma? Thank you!

    Frank

UPDATE: I just got the update to run, but it gave me this error message:

"HP Support Assistant Application Update / your system does not satisfy the minimum requirements for this patch." / However was cancelled. (1602).

    Arniceous,

Thank you for your response and suggestions.

After a lot of trial and error, I finally got it works as follows: first of all, I downloaded and installed the latest update for HP Update. Then I renamed the folder HP Support Assistant (didn't do any deletion again) by adding ".old" to it and retries, download and install the latest update for the wizard. This time, he worked and installed!

So at this stage my PC is OK again and back to where it was before the crash of hard/restore disk. All HP now works as it should.

I hope this can help you and others in the effort to repair that do not have HP help or a fix for.

  • Cannot install the Windows Fax Service

I used to have a FAX in Control Panel > printers and Faxes screen, but I no longer. I went to control panel > Add/Remove programs/add Windows components and some Fax Services. The installation process starts and a Fax icon appears on the screen with my other printers. Until the installation finished, however, this fax icon disappears.

I check start > all programs > Accessories > communications > Fax but the menu drop-down should be, he's not here, and the box says just (blank).

I recently installed a new Canon printer that has the ability to "Fax From a Computer" that allows me to send faxes directly from a document using the modem in the PC. I think the only action of the Canon printer is made that a fax has been sent.

After I installed the Canon printer I got a Canon Fax icon both Windows Fax icon, but I had a problem of phone and none of them worked. I have fixed the problem of telephony and the works of Canon Fax function in the computer, but I get the problem described above, when you try to install the Windows Fax.

Is there something that prevents the addition of a second Windows fax service?

How to go beyond this issue and allow multi-touch Fax from Windows?

We consider that you have Windows XP with service pack 3 installed some variety.  If this is not correct, explain what version of Windows you have.

What was the 'problem of telephony' and what did you do to fix?

Open the Services applet (start > run > services.msc > OK) and make sure that each of the following is running and has shown startup type

    Fax (auto start)
    Print spooler (Autostart)
    Telephony (manual start)

  • Cannot install the Windows SDK

I try to install the Windows SDK for Windows 7 with .NET Framework 4 on a DVD.  Installation takes place in short a while then Setup stops and inflicts a cleanup at the.  I get a window "Installation Failed" with a message telling me to "refer to Samples\Setup\HTML\ConfigDetails.htm document for more information."  However, the cleaning process removes this document so it is impossible for me to see.  I saved the log file "SDKSetup_7.0.6918.0.log" but it's over a length of 1000 rows.  I'll be happy to send it to you if you wish!  I have made several attempts to install from the DVD I burned the ISO file downloaded and on the web.  I get the same result every time.  What do you suggest me?

I found through research more than others have discovered that the SDK will not install anything it either if it finds a later version of the redistributable C running pre-installed libraries.  I had to uninstall the C libraries, then install the SDK and then do a MS update to get the latest patches for the runtime libraries.  Frankly, it seems pretty stupid to me.  At the very least, the installation should give a comprehensible message on why it would not be installed.
