Cannot install service pack 1 for Vista

For almost 2 years, I try to install service pack 1. When installing to part 3 of 3 back changes and is not installed. I called the Vista support almost 10 times, they also helped me online. I've tried everything.
What can I do?

How to fix the Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008 service pack installation issues:
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/947366

What application or antivirus security suite is installed and your current subscription?  What anti-spyware (other than Defender) applications?  What third-party firewall (if applicable)?  Who were these applications that run in the background when you tried to install SP1?

A (another) Norton or McAfee application has already been installed on this machine (for example, a free trial version which is preinstalled when you bought it)?

  • Problems to install Service Pack 1 for Vista

    Hello

I'm running my computer on Vista Home Premium 32 bit only.

I'll just say everything that happened to that meets anyone knows exactly what is happening. Recently, I received a few DVDs of the trial version of Adobe, who quickly, I tried to install. The installer says I need Windows XP Service Pack 3 or Vista Service Pack 1. I found this curious because I thought that I had installed SP1 long ago when it appeared on Windows Live Update. After checking, I discovered that I had not installed for some reason any. I watched in Live Update for download, but it wasn't there, so I came on the Microsoft site and downloaded the stand-alone version of the service pack. I have closed all the programs that I had running and run Setup. He got to halfway through the installation bar (first?) and has stalled for a while, then extended to the end of the bar and displays an error, which contained a link to this page: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/947366. I followed the steps in resolution 2 and downloaded system update readiness tool. I ran the installer, but it seemed just to stall for a long time, so I canceled and he run. This time I got an error before he began to install (Code: 0 x 80240009). I looked for a solution and came across this http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833, with some people claiming it fixed.
I followed the steps and restarted my computer and it is no longer displayed the error, but it just keeps stalling at the installation screen. I decided to see if I could find an alternative
solution to the original problem with the Service Pack and came across someone who says that McAffee was responsible, which is the virus scanner, that I installed it on my computer. I disabled
pretty well all of the program, as well as my firewall and restarted the computer again. I ran the installation but got the same error. I have reactivated my firewall and McAffee and now I'm
at a loss on what to do next.
To sum up; I can't install SP1 or system analysis tool and I need to.
If you need more information, let me know.
    Thanks in advance

    Hello, Ember09

This seems to be an invalid data error code, Service Pack 1 installer was corrupted when you downloaded it, try to download it once more and check if you get the error again.

    Download the stand-alone update: x 64 | x 86

  • Cannot install service pack 1 on Vista

    Hello

    can anyone help?

I changed the hard drive on my PC and re installed vista. Several updates later and am stuck now with service pack 1 do not install it even if he says he has. Because of the incompatibility of IE 7 with the Microsoft Web site, I am unable to download in stand-alone form or download the tool etc. such as documented on the solutions, I googled.

There is no antivirus outside Defender running nd tried to install firewall on and outside. No idea what it takes now short of forking out for windows 7 or 8.

    Any help greatly received.

    Hello

If you encounter problems, you can download the stand-alone version on another computer and save to disk.

Click Start > right click on computer > left click on properties > see if you have Vista 32 bit or Vista 64-bit installed.

It will also tell you which SP you have installed.

Then, choose the download of 'bit' OK to use to install Service Packs, installation of SP1 first if it is not already installed.

    Vista SP1 32-bit (x 86): http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30

  • I finally down loaded and installed service Pack 1 for vista is when he died

Downloaded SP1 after 2 visits to microsoft solve this centre, there was something like 6 attempts this month to download SP1.
Itconected to the down loaded and installed himself off the machine. It works and it starts upeither to launch repair (recommended) or normally.
    repair can't fix.
Normally starts to load, then a back line? loading orders? begins to roll things like 1592/88609...dll, or.sys etc, until it freezes on
    !! 0x0c01a001d! 9073/88609 (\Registry\Machine\COMPONENTS\DerivedData\...)

How can I make it work. Can I uninstall via the command-line... no restore point prior to download SP1

    Hello

Perform the following methods and check if it helps.

    Method 1:

Try to do a restore of the system of the Windows Recovery console using the Vista disc. Read the following article to do the same thing:What are the system recovery options in Windows Vista?

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/what-are-the-system-recovery-options-in-Windows-Vista

    Method 2:

You can try to access the Windows Recovery console prompt and see if you can manually remove Service Pack 1 on your computer. Here are the steps to remove Service Pack 1:

    1. open a window to the Windows Recovery console command prompt.

    2. run the following command, depending on the version of the Windows Vista service that you want to uninstall:

    • For Windows Vista Service Pack 1: C:\temp\Windows6.0-KB936330-X86.exe x:C:\temp

    Note

This command assumes that the file Windows6. 0 - KB936330.exe is located in the C:\Temp folder

    3. He must create a sandbox environment before you can continue to step 4. This allows you to manage safely an untrusted program. To create a sandbox, type md, sandbox.

    4. to remove the Windows Vista service pack, type or copy and paste the following command, depending on the version of the Windows Vista service that you want to uninstall:

    • For Windows Vista Service Pack 1: start /w pkgmgr.exe /m:c:\temp\Windows6.0-KB936330-X86.cab /up s:sandbox

    In this command, NNN is x 86, x 64, or IA-64.

If these steps successfully uninstall the service pack of Windows Vista, and this resolves the issue, you are finished.

Here is an article that will give you different methods on how to remove Service Pack 1:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/948537

    Hope this information is useful.

  • How can I install service pack 2 for Vista, while on battery.

My computer is running on battery power, even if it is plugged.  My battery is not, but it's OK since I use as a desktop replacement system, and it works fine.  Unfortunately, the update of Windows Vista Service Pack 2 will not install.  How to ignore the condition to be plugged, or tell my stupid computer it is plugged and won't run out of juice during installation?

[It seems to me that you will have to replace the battery before installing SP2. YMMV]
