Cannot install Service Pack 1 after 4 years, Windows Vista Factory restore
I have a Dell XPS ONE and used the option to restore to the factory due to several problems. The system is 4 years old and maintain a 4 year old Windows Vista Home Premium system proved to be too much for me to handle.
When I try to update Windows, I managed about 60 updates, but then I get to the SP 1. He tells me that it is installed, but then I go to the update again and it tells me that I need SP I... I can go through the same indefinitely, SP 1 installation, but he always tells me that I need to install Service Pack 1 even if it was just installed successfully. Aparently, SP 1 is not installed correctly, but it tells me that it is installed. It is not!
In the meantime, I can ' t reinstall Norton Internet Security. He tells me that I need SP2 for Vista.

It is good, that you can not install Norton Product. Stop trying. No McAfee either.
Avast, AVG, Avira , or UnThreat are choices fine (free option).
You could spend ~ 60USD during two years of eSET NOD32 AntiVirus (not more - just product AntiVirus) and which would be more worthwhile.Regarding SP1 - do this manually. Windows Vista Edition _, _ - bit? [Fill in the blanks]
