Cannot install updates without installing to win 10

I installed win/10 a few months ago and don't like it so I out took it and went back to 7. Since then, whenever I choose check updates and installation, it will automatically download and install 10.

I changed my settings to let me decide whether to install and I removed the KB3035583 but it always does. I couldn't get this out of my system. I need disabled people operating system upgrade but can't seem to do.

I have connected to meet office today, but twice, they were unable to launch the remote access. Can you tell me what is happening and why I can't get rid of this victory/10?

Slamina,

That's what I did to stop the throbbing and attempts to download (gleamed from various positions)...

Uninstall these updates (available in the Microsoft Windows section):

KB2952664

KB2976978 (usually found in 8.x Windows machines)

KB3035583

KB3044374 (usually found in 8.x Windows machines) KB3068708

Do NOT reboot when it asks you.  After you are done go to Windows Update and search for updates, and you will see them listed again. Right mouse click on each of them individually and select hide update.  Then go to Windows Update in Control Panel and select change settings and uncheck give me updates in the same way I receive important updates recommended.  I also changed my important updates to the updates but let me choose whether to download and install them.

Note: Although these updates come as a optional and Important, once installed they are displayed as recommended.

Hey mate. It is important that you could install Win XP ;)

PS: as far as I know you don t need any driver to start from the CD/DVD of PCMCIA drive. It s controlled by the BIOS.
Therefore, it should be possible for a start of the PCMCIA CD/DVD drive and reinstall Win XP

(Vista can be installed - if the machine is OK)

The question is: is it possible, that this model is not compatible with XP?

    Thank you

    Hello

Of course, you can install Win XP. It s no matter what version is XP Pro, Home, MCE, etc..
The problem may be the lack of SP2 and SATA drivers!

First, you must create a disk for Win XP SP2 and SP3.
For this, you can use the nLite tool

Google for the nLite for more information

Secondly, you use nLite to include the SATA drivers for Win XP disk.
The SATA drivers are part of the Intel Storage Manager

There is a lot of discussion on the installation of the driver SATA I recommend to use the advanced search option and read the content.

  • Cannot install on Win 7 Professional language.

I tried to add a Greek keyboard via the option "Region and language" option panel, but will not display the option on "Floating on the desktop" or "docked in the taskbar.  I did it on other computers (Win 7), but not on mine - how can I get the language toolbar to appear?

    Hello

I understand that you are unable to install the language on your computer Windows 7 Professional pack. I would like to inform you that the language pack is available only to Ultimate and Windows 7 Enterprise edition.

    Please refer to this link:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/products/features/language-packs

Please, perform the methods suggested and see if that solves the problem:

Method 1: Install the complete language - MUI

To install a different language - MUI (MUI) - you must have Windows 7 Ultimate. If you do not have Ultimate you can do an Express upgrade to ultimate. There are 35 languages to choose from, they are listed under 'Language Packs' on this site:

    http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd744369%28WS.10%29.aspx

Method 2: upgrade Express to Windows 7 Ultimate:

Type of upgrade Express in the box files and research programs in the start menu and click the Windows Anytime Upgrade. From there, you can buy an Express Windows 7 Ultimate upgrade. Then, you can enter your Express Upgrade product key and perform a simple upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate, this is why you can install a different language. All programs and files will remain on the computer.

Windows Anytime Upgrade is available for purchase online in Australia, Belgium, Canada, Germany, France, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom and the United States. If you are in a different country local shops to check and see if it is available. If you can't buy an Express upgrade, you need to buy Windows 7 Ultimate, or buy Windows 7 in the language you need.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/products/Windows-Anytime-Upgrade

Method 3: Install the new MUI (MUI) in Windows 7 Ultimate edition:

    (a) start-> all programs--> Windows Update--> optional updates.

    (b) open optional updates and go to the Windows 7 language packs.

    (c) check the MUI (MUI) you want and click OK

    (d) above with updates

Method 4: How to change the display language for Windows 7:

    (a) go to start-> Control Panel-> clock, language and region / change the display language.

    (b) change the display language in her choose a display language for the menu drop-down.

    (c) click OK

    (d) close the session so that the changes take effect (this will affect only the user profile under which you are logged).

    Hello

I'm trying to use the webcam came with the laptop, it's a Satellite Pro T110 - 11L.

It is currently running Windows 7 64 bit and I tried to install the web camera for Windows 7 64-bit drivers and even the XP version which Toshiba site has on the page drivers.

The two pilots of the web unit fail during installation that gives "Application DMICheck stopped working" error.

    Can you help me?

    Thank you
    Hugo Figueira

    Hello Hugo

According to the specifications of the laptop your model T was delivered with preinstalled Win7 64 bit professional. Original recovery image contains a preinstalled software webcam and it is configured to start automatically, so I would like to know since when you noticed this problem.

I can't imagine that this problem persists since the first day. Am I right about that?

Are you still using original preinstalled OS?
By the way: this is the driver for the webcam just for your laptop model.

  • Satellite Pro A40-201 - cannot install the Win XP - partition not formatted

    Hello

I have an A40-201 and the hard drive no longer works.
    So I thought I'd change.

However, I found a problem, otherwise said, when I tried to install Windows XP, I found a mistake, "the score couldn't formatted when you reach 100% of the installation.

I tried several disks hard and other operating systems, but I get the same message every time.
The thing is I don't remember if I have to do something for the HD before you format it.

I'd appreciate really any help you could offer.

Thank you very much and sorry for the inconvenience.

Hmmm. have you tried to format the HARD drive using an external USB 2.5 HDD case?
Usually the Windows XP needs to format any HARD drive during the installation of the OS.

    Did you choose this option?
If this isn't the case, you should do it.
The best would be if you would like to format the whole HARD drive and erase all partitions too.

    CONTINUE WITH WHAT?

    Search for malware:

Download, install, execute, update and perform analyses complete system with the two following applications:

Remove anything they find.  Reboot when necessary.  (You can uninstall one or both when finished.)

Search online with eSet Online Scanner.

The less you have to run all the time, most things you want to run will perform:

Use Autoruns to understand this all starts when your computer's / when you log in.  Look for whatever it is you do not know using Google (or ask here.)  You can hopefully figure out if there are things from when your computer does (or connect) you don't not need and then configure them (through their own built-in mechanisms is the preferred method) so they do not - start using your resources without reason.

You can download and use Process Explorer to see exactly what is taking your time processor/CPU and memory.  This can help you to identify applications that you might want to consider alternatives for and get rid of all together.

Do a house cleaning and the dust of this hard drive:

You can free up disk space (will also help get rid of the things that you do not use) through the following steps:

Windows XP should take between 4.5 and 9 GB * with * an Office suite, editing Photo software, alternative Internet browser (s), various Internet plugins and a host of other things installed.

You can disable hibernation if it is enabled and you do not...

When you Hibernate your computer, Windows saves the contents of the system memory in the hiberfil.sys file. As a result, the size of the hiberfil.sys file will always be equal to the amount of physical memory in your system. If you don't use the Hibernate feature and want to reclaim the space used by Windows for the hiberfil.sys file, perform the following steps:

-Start the Control Panel Power Options applet (go to start, settings, Control Panel, and then click Power Options).
-Select the Hibernate tab, uncheck "Activate the hibernation", and then click OK. Although you might think otherwise, selecting never under "Hibernate" option on the power management tab does not delete the hiberfil.sys file.
-Windows remove the "Hibernate" option on the power management tab and delete the hiberfil.sys file.

You can control the amount of space your system restore can use...

    1. Click Start, right click my computer and then click Properties.
    2. click on the System Restore tab.
    3. highlight one of your readers (or C: If you only) and click on the button "settings".
4 change the percentage of disk space you want to allow... I suggest moving the slider until you have about 1 GB (1024 MB or close to that...)
    5. click on OK. Then click OK again.

You can control the amount of space used may or may not temporary Internet files...

Empty the temporary Internet files and reduce the size, that it stores a size between 64 MB and 128 MB...

-Open a copy of Microsoft Internet Explorer.
    -Select TOOLS - Internet Options.
-On the general tab in the section 'Temporary Internet files', follow these steps:
-Click on 'Delete the Cookies' (click OK)
-Click on "Settings" and change the "amount of disk space to use: ' something between 64 MB and 128 MB. (There may be many more now.)
    -Click OK.
-Click on 'Delete files', then select "Delete all offline content" (the box), and then click OK. (If you had a LOT, it can take 2 to 10 minutes or more).
-Once it's done, click OK, close Internet Explorer, open Internet Explorer.

Download and run the MSRT tool manually:
    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/malwareremove/default.mspx

  • Cannot install bios access from win 8

HP Touchsmart tm2 laptop and although age has officially supported, was able to install Windows 8.0 but now cannot move to 8.1 Windows because I can't boot from the CD/DVD or USB flash drive.

The store Windows says that my 8.0 cannot be updated to 8.1 via the shop, so I want to do a fressh 8.1 installation and have purchased the software and the key.  But I can't get the laptoip to boot on the USB CD/DVD or a USB flash drive (or even a floppy disk)

Since the installation of 8.0, when the computer starts, a HP logo appears, but there is no option to enter the BIOS setup or to specify the boot sequence.   I have no reason to believe that I changed the boot sequence, so there should resemble any of these external devices first, but this is not (there's a brief access to the CD/DCD, but it goes to start with the hard drive).

It seems that Win 8.0 installation has done something in the BIOS.  Have tired etc. ESC, F2, F10, Del, F6 during the boot process, even if the messages do not appear.   Maybe I could reflash the BIOS?  Or is it an executable I could run wtining Win 8.0 to access the BIOS, otherwise I'm stuck.

    Anyone with a similar problem/solution?

    Thank you

Was able to get. Window very tight to get into the boot on this computer compared to other menu that I worked.  Configuration via USB seems continues normally.

I already installed Win 8.1 on a HP TouchSmart300 desktop model and found that the microphone does not (confirmed elsewhere in this forum).  Using a wirelss headset Plantroincs has proved a good solution.  Anticipating I could met the same problem on the laptop.  Now soon.

  • XP - cannot install updates

    XP Pro, SP3, MSE

I have updated to notify but not download or install.

On the last two occasions 'Patch Tuesday', I was advised again
updates, click on the icon/bubble and then selected "Download" - nothing
    is happening.

I make sure that all boxes updates is ticked/checked (they are by default)
and I have an internet connection.

Initially, I assumed that the server is busy, but after waiting an hour or two I
had to go to the MS update page where I can download and install
without problems. During this process, the Update icon appears in the
notification area saying that updates are ready to install, just as I
expect after clicking on 'download '.

The situation is the same for the last batch of updates.

No idea why in THE fails to download after notification?

Well, my updates finally downloaded and installed, and I found a plausible explanation for the delay, at least for my computer.

The Windows Update log in my Windows folder contained many entries saying "updated by an update that is regulated and can not download" and "the update takes precedence regulated and can not download.  Through the research forum has led me to a thread posted in October, which explains the issue clearly enough of these phrases.

If you disable Microsoft Update updates poster will never be. What is happening is that the updates are regulated so that the update servers are too taxed. After all, all Windows computers in the world cannot be updated at once, right?

If you check WindowsUpdate.log, located in Windows, you will see an entry like the one-

2010-10-12 11:41:13:046 1308 9e8 DnldMgr rules: {7971F918-A847-4430-9279-4A52D1EFE18D}-FF20EB09-05D5-42A9-A007-11CC4E70885C update is the'Priority' regulated and can NOT download only . The 8071 sequence vs AcceptRate 2525.

If you disable Microsoft Update and then the next time you activate your system will again "set priority " and will have to wait his turn to receive actually.

The latest entries are at the bottom of the journal. Start here and see if there is a similar entry in WindowsUpdate.log on your system.
If there are similar entries all I can say is that you be patient and wait until they arrive or manually download and install updates from the Microsoft Download Center or from the Microsoft Update Catalog . To the Download Center, enter the number of the update, and then click the magnifying glass icon to start the search. For the MU catalogue, either enter the number or the Security Bulletin number.
All the Security bulletins can be found hereand also contain links that allow once to manually download the updates go MS Download Center.

  • HyperBowl will not start in XP SP3 / cannot install Windows update KB924867 (service pack is newer than the update...)

original title: hyperbowl will not start in XP SP3 / cannot install KB924867

    Hello

I just reinstalled windows XP and done all the updates. I then reinstalled hyperbowl 3d and it will not open up. Now it used to be that if you ran the update:

Update for Windows XP (KB924867) http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?DisplayLang=en&id=6446

It would solve this problem (see http://hyperbowl3d.com/oldsupport.html).

I downloaded the update, and it says:

"Setup has detected that the version of Service Pack for this system is newer than the update you are applying"

So I can't install the update. Is it possible to reinstall this hotfix without remove SP3 or is there another work around, I can use?

    Thanks in advance!

Welcome & thank you for your comments.

    Hello

    1. What is the serial number and model of the printer?
    2. What are the failed updates?
3 have there been any changes made on the computer before the show?

I suggest you try the steps to solve the problem with the installation of printer.

    Method 1:
Run the Fixit and check if it helps.

    Method 2:

Note: After completing the steps in the clean boot troubleshooting, follow step 7 link to return the computer to a Normal startup mode.

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable the antivirus software. If you do not disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network at the time the anti-virus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    Method 4:
You can also manually install updates (KB number) by downloading from the Microsoft Download Center.
