Cannot install virtual surround on my Satellite A100 - 498 (PSAA9E)
I installed all of the latest Windows Vista Toshiba drivers, including the audio driver (realtek), but I can not install the Toshiba Virtual Sound... I just got this message: "TOSHIBA Virtual Sound does not support your computer", during the installation. I checked on the list of drivers, and in fact, it's the driver provided for my Toshiba! Previously, I had Windows XP Media Center Edition, and the virtual sound worked well. What can I do to fix this?
where to download the drivers? On the website of toshiba Europe? Maybe you should try it here:
It s the Canadian site, but I do not guarantee that you will find...
Give some feedback after trying this site.
I tried to install the update virtual sound vista on the download site, but when I try to install it, it gives me a massage that my computer does not support the virtual sound. Even I checked the site and it is in the supported list.
That s strange!
I also checked the European driver from Toshiba site and the A100 (PSAA8) unit is listed as a support.
I think you should be able to install this virtual sound utility
How did you install Vista drivers? Have you followed the recommendation of the installation instruction document?
The proper installation order is important and necessary. If you will install the drivers and tools in the wrong order, another application could not work.
I installed Windows XP on a Satellite A100 - 289 PSAA9E, but I can not install the network and WLAN page driver drivers.
I always get the message that no driver regrets were found (I manually chose the directory with the downloaded drivers)
Can someone help me?
Where can I get the right drivers network controller vor and WLAN card?
As much as I know Sam A100 PSAA9E series supports Intel 3945ABG wireless card and also an Intel LAN card.
Driver WLAN can be found here:
On the European driver Toshiba page I could find drivers for Satellite A100 PSAA9E series.
But note; You must choose the Archive in the type of product because it old series.
There are two different LAN drivers;
-LAN driver v 9.2.24 for Ethernet Pro1000
-LAN driver v 126.96.36.199 for Ethernet Pro100
In order to check both!

I hope someone can help me with this, Google has not been good for me
I wonder why you were able to install the Catalyst Control Center and not the INF ;)
Hmmm in my opinion, the driver is ok, but the installation failed!
You have unpacked all the files correctly ;)
In the first step, I would recommend uninstalling the software graphical overview.
After restarting again, you can try to reinstall again!
By the way; AFAIK the A100-169 has been delivered with the graphic driver for ATI MOBILITY RADEON X 1600. I wonder why the information about the hardware reports the name ATI Mobility Radeon X 1400
I have a problem with my old laptop satellite a100-159. I still use it as a second computer. Given that the display drivers for windows 7 are available at toshiba, I decided to update the laptop from XP to 7. After the update, I downloaded the display driver for win 7 (http://support1.toshiba-tro.de/tedd-files2/0/display-20091109135931.zip)
But here's the problem: when I unzip the file, the file "tinstall.exe" does not work. It comes to the .exe file that needs to install the driver. I also had the message "this program could not have installed correctly". As of the present results, I'm looking to 1024 x 768 while the resolution is 1280 x 800.
Any suggestions for me? I know that the laptop is old, but that the correct display driver, it is rather useless.
Please try to run the install using setup.exe.
I change my Satellite A100 - 036 operating system for Windows XP SP2 home edition and the ethernet controller not installed it.
I downloaded almost all the LAN driver on the Web from Toshiba site and it will not install.
Someone help me pls?
The BIOS must be updated to version XP!
And the LAN driver must be installed from the Device Manager!
I have the Satellite A100 with a mobility radeon X 1400 and it is impossible to change the graphics drivers: I'm stuck with the old version 6.14 and failed to install the new drivers ATI 6.7 or 6.8 :(
Anyone have a solution?
Thanks in advance
In general, the drivers available on the graphics card manufacturer s site are mainly designed for desktop computers and it is always recommended to use the drivers designed by producer for laptop. On this way the graphics card will be protected against overheating and suddenly get compromised.
In any case, you can try to install it as shown in the previous announcement.
I recently received a Satellite A100 - 912 (PSAA9E). Windows XP Home was preinstalled operating system. But when I installed Vista Ultimate, the Device Manager shows that a device is missing pilot. Its properties show that it is located on PCI, device 6 7 Bus and function 3.
I downloaded the drivers all listed for the toshiba site system. So, can someone tell me what device it is and where I can find the driver for it? All devices such as the display, sound, modem, lan/wlan, player card, fingerprint reader, buttons of media multi burner Super multi and touch to touch work well.
I Don t really know what device it is, but you can for example try a linux live cd. The live cd lists you start a list of pci devices so you can find that materials are in your machine.
Alternatively, you can perform a search in google for 'list of pci Vista' and you might find some pci list of tools that can help you get information about unknown material thjat.
I seem to have a problem with my virtual sound on my Satellite A100. It seems to work intermittently, often it doesn't work anymore and I can't control if it is on or off. If I reboot, it can start working again, but not always. I did a factory restore of the machine that clears the fault, but after a few start-up, it starts to happen again. It doesn't seem to be a reason for the problem.
Has anyone experienced this problem and managed to work around it?
I put t don't know if this helps but try to update the utility audio virtual ansd the audio driver. To do this, check the Toshiba driver page.
I put t know if it is interesting for you, but in this forum, I noticed that on some Satellite P100 crackling sounds/noises can be resolved by updating of all of the BIOS (v 2.1 or higher) and the audio driver.
Need to first update the BIOS
I have a laptop satellite A100 - 237 (PSAA9). I plan to replace the hard drive of 160 GB Momentus 7200.2 (SATA 3 Gb/s). My problem is that I can't find any information if my system will take in charge of SATA 3 Gb/s interface.
Any help/information is much appreciated.
I found the info on your laptop HARD drive interface is Serial ATA Rev. 1. 0a.
Hope this info helps.

You will find the same deal and the solution!
Seems that the BIOS update is a key.
I just bought a new satellite A100-498 and just realized that whenever I leave the computer for a while and he needs to go in hibernation or suspenson, he's going, but when I get back and try to restart, it begins to restart, but it crashes right after with a black screen (in hibernation) or on the desktop (suspension). I tried to change the settings for tye on the Toshiba powersaver, but it still happens...
can anyone help?
Thanks in advance
Try to install the new drivers VGA and chipset.
I think it will solve the problem.
I just reinstalled XP home on the satellite A100-215 (PSAA9E-02F00VPT) and I meet some real difficulties get the LAN, VGA and wireless drivers installed.
Everything else works, but for some reason, these drivers are not what they are supposed to and I find myself in a bit of a tile?
Someone at - he heard of these drivers being wrong before, if yes is there a solution out there?
Really need help now as have been on it for a good few hours now and no not get anywhere fast?
Thanks in advance
Can you give an exact describtion of the problem with drivers?
So first of all, you can try to download the drivers again from the download page of Toshiba here:
And make sure that all windows updates are installed. SP2 is important to be installed for some devices.
I need a current display for my ATI Radeon Mobility X 1600 driver in my laptop Toshiba Satellite A100-153 PSAA9E.
I can not install the Catalyst Control Center (and therefore the latest driver). It says to me "this driver is not compatible with your system. Contact the manufacturer.
In the magnificent... download section are the only drivers of 2006 for my X 1600. Anyone know how I can install current drivers? Is it possible to avoid the 'blocking of Toshiba' for display drivers?
Thanks in advance
The display on the original ATI site driver is not designed for graphics cards for laptop and so that you can install t. In addition he doesn t have an overheating protection and therefore can damage your graphics card! It s on your own risk!
If you want the ATI driver, you must use Mobility Modder. Then you can install it, but don t forget s about your risks and perils and you will lose the warranty.
The drivers from the Web from Toshiba site definitely work for your laptop then why you want to install a different driver?
