Cannot install Windows 2000 on SatPro 4600

Hello

I have a SatPro 4600, earlier, I got ACPI Bios error when you try to start Windows.

Is it possible to disable ACPI in the Bios, I couldn't find any option in ACPI Bios 2.60 to turn it off.

The I formatted the hard drive and try to install Windows 2000 from scratch. But for Setup is copying files to start the installation program, it comes up with an error message.
"Setup cannot copy the file"File_name"

And will not let me continue with the Setup program.

Help, please.

Hello

I can't help you much about it, but maybe this article can help you. Check http://support.microsoft.com/kb/319344/en-us

Good luck!

Reset you HARD drive after using the Linux operating system? If please do it properly and then try to install Windows using the recovery CD.

If the error again please contact the Service partner. In my opinion there must be a missing file.

  • Portege 3440 - cannot install Windows 2000

    Hello friends :)

I have a problem with the installation of Windows 2000 on Portege 3440.

When installing without partition on the HARD drive was appeared on blue background information: "could not find a place for a swap file. Hello

1 don't forget to prepare your hard disk with fdisk (a bootable partition) and format it with the Fat32 file system

    2. start by a MSDos saved in your floppy drive-drive with drivers for your PCMCIA CDrom drive (Freecom)

    3. copy the entire i386 to the W2K installation CD directory your HD, be sure to have loaded smartdrive, otherwise it will take ages!

4 start again with the saved, go to the i386 directory and start Windows NT

You can look here for more information about freecom pilots and the bootdisks: http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=19232
On your 3440 it should be easier than with the R100 because of normal 2.5 "HD 6 GB, but the problem is basically the same

  • How to install Windows 2000 on Equium A200-1VO?

    Hello

    Can someone help me?

I would like to install Windows 2000 on the Toshiba Equium A200-1VO laptop, but I need the drivers to do this.
I have tried the Toshiba web page but cannot find the drivers.

    Can someone please?

    Thank you

You will not be the drivers because this Vista designed for laptop is not supported by this old operating system. Maybe you can find the drivers for Windows XP Home edition, but not for W2000.

All you can do is search for the drivers on the net and hope you have success with it.
I don't know why you would do this, but perhaps you should accept that at some point Toshiba must say stop and don't waste time with the support of the older operating system. I also believe that 0.01% people want to use this old operating system on new generation laptops.

There is no sense to make support for W2000. What do you think about this?

The Recovery Manager starts well. He correctly completed the following steps:
    1 format HDD

    2. copy the files from the CD to the drive. It copies all the 3 CD.

Then he ask the driver (the 4th CD) CD. Once I have this CD, then after awhile I get messge below:

In most cases, recover the hard disk will solve your problems.

If your problem persists, you may have to contact HP support. Find details of support HO in the documentation of your PC.

After that I see above meaage the only button I can click is "Finish". Once I click on finish, then in a minute, I get a message that "recovery completed successfully.

The laptop restarts and displays the message on the screen "Bootmger" not found

I called HP support and asked to run the hard drive and memory test and he succeeded.

    Hello

Here is another solution, you can try to see if you can get Windows 7 to install correctly.

Before you try the following, make sure that you can always read the character product activation key 25 on your label Windows COA (5 blocks of 5 alphanumeric games).

An example of a COA label can be seen here.

You can create an installation disk yourself using another PC - just download the good Disk Image ( this must be the version exact same origin supplied with your laptop ) from the link below and use an app like ImgBurn to burn the ISO correctly on a blank DVD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write that an ISO on a disc is here.  These Images are clean and a well respected source, however there are only limited versions available.

    Windows 7 sp1-iso-official-32-bit-and-64-bit

Use the disk to perform the installation, enter the activation key of Windows on the label of the COA at the request and once the installation is complete, use ' 'phone Method' described in detail in the link below to activate the operating system -this made method supported by Microsoft and is popular with people who want to just have a new installation of Windows 7 without additional software load normally comes with OEM installations.

    http://www.kodyaz.com/articles/how-to-activate-Windows-7-by-phone.aspx

All pilots additional and the software, you may need can be found here.

No hardware changes or software recently made to the system: I followed the usual procedure to install Windows updates.

    Method of connection: wireless

    Technical expertise: intermediate level

Performed troubleshooting: because the error # 80071 A 90 type indicated by the system, I followed the instructions of Windows Help and Support, for example to run Microsoft Fix it which did not work; a more advanced method has also been used, who recommended to start Windows Update in Mode safe, then open Windows Update and install the updates and then restart normally. At this point, the problem was that any stage of Windows Update was available.

    Hello amib004,

As much as I know, only Windows Update cannot be run in safe mode. That being said, I saw where install several updates may conflict with each other. Try to disable all updates installation and install the updates failed one at a time.

  • Cannot install windows XP on the Satellite Pro A200-1N2

I have a Toshiba Satellite A200 - 1N2 PSAE3E and I don't want Vista on my laptop. I downgraded the bios to V5.30 but still cannot install windows xp and there is still no optin for SATA in the bios.

    Hello

Did you install the SATA drivers first?
You need this driver to recognize the HARD drive!

You must download the Intel Matrix Storage Manager. You should find it on the page of the Toshiba driver or the Intel Web site.

You must perform the installation of an external USB FDD drive using the F6 key during the installation of Win XP.

  • Re: IMPORTANT - how to install Windows 2000 on a Satellite L300 - 16 M (PSLB0E)?

    Hello

I am an independent developer and absolutely need to install multiple operating systems on my * Satellite L300 - 16 M (PSLB0E) *: it is very important for me because I need to check the functioning of the software under each environment for real (not not using solutions like VMware, for example).

Well, then, right now, I did a backup Acronis image of original full HDD, and then deleted the original scores of WinRE and data, reduced and moved from disk to the partition of Vista... and installed System Commander 8 to prepare my future multi - initialize. For the moment, everything sounds right: Vista works perfectly!

Also note, I have configured the SATA in the BIOS Setup in "Compatibility" mode just because I don't need AHCI in my type of use!

Second step: now, * I have to install Windows 2000 Pro (SP4) EN *. Of course, I am aware that the sticking point is the SATA/AHCI driver, which is not present in the CD of Win 2 K... So, I just make a new CD integrating these drivers using nLite; now, I tried using the driver Intel site on Intel 82801 HEM / HBM SATA AHCI controller (ICH8M) and page drivers Toshiba XP.

But it does not completely: the Win 2 K install begins... All the drivers are well charged (including the ones AHCI) and just after this stage of loading, I get a black screen with just a blink of an eye cursor at the top left of the screen... indefinitively :-(

I tried also to SATA mode "AHCI" in the BIOS and it's the same thing.

    So, what to do next?

I used the wrong AHCI drivers? Do I need to integrate as many drivers Toshiba (about chipset, display, sound) in the installation of Windows 2000 using nLite CD? I mean the capacity of the CD is not reached.

Is there a way or a tutorial to install Windows 2000 somewhere? For XP, I think it will be easier because SP3 seems to support AHCI, but earlier, my problem is to install Windows 2000: Although Microsoft wants to leave-it, there are many professionals who still use-it... And my work as a developer, is to make my software also works on this OS! * I really need to find a way to install it on this computer! *

Awaiting your response informed and all the tips or idea that could help me to complete the task.
    In a word: HELP! Oops!

    Perhaps.

As far as I know that you need the crib Intel Matrix Storage and in this package, you will find the SATA drivers.
    http://www.Intel.com/support/chipsets/IMSM/index.htm

There you have to choose to get the latest driver - version PV-> Win 2000 8.5-> there you must take the package from point 3

    Welcome to the forum!

Go into the BIOS (F1 at startup), set the "compatible" SATA mode (NO AHCI), then press F10 to save and exit, and you should be all set.

    Hello

I see that you have a problem in the installation of new Windows USB port. It seems that your HDD was not detected, right? It's because your laptop uses a SATA HDD.

what you need to do are:

    1. download the driver AHCI SATA website of intel. (just google it)

    2. copy the files (size 700 KB for 6 files) into the new USB

    3. reboot and install your laptop with win 7 (dvd/usb)

    4. by the time win 7 installation reached the drive to install (none detected), click load drivers.

    5. now load your other USB SATA drivers.

    6. then will show all disks in your system.

    7. continue with the installation process.

    hope this helps.

Depends on if you can get the drivers for your Windows 2000-compatible hardware; you need to verify that hardware manufacturers laicists site to check the drivers. Most of the hardware manufacturers are not even the creation of drivers for Windows XP that is newer than Windows 2000.
