Cannot install Windows 7 HARD drive problems

Hi all!

I have lenovo ThinkPad T540p. Intel Core I7, 8 GB RAM and 500 GB HARD drive. I think my HARD drive is Toshiba. It had Windows 7 on it, but it starts no more on this subject. When I start Windows is it shows 5 seconds black screen, and then it displays the Boot Menu. Well, I tried to reinstall Windows, but when I have to choose on which disk to install Windows, I get an error: "no hard drive found." And the list with readers is empty, so I can't reinstall Windows. I've updated the BIOS, but it did not help. Finally, I formatted my HARD drive and created two partitions on it. It worked, but not for long. I installed Windows 7. Everything was going well until I restarted my computer. And then I got the same problem: 'Cannot start from the HARD disk' and displays the Start Menu. Then I booted Windows installation and I got the same error: "no hard drive found."

I don't understand what is happening with my HARD drive and that is to destroy his scores.

And I don't think that my HARD drive is broken.

I don't really know what to do!
Please, help me!

Thanks a lot!

Here is the solution:

My HARD drive was broken. I bought a new MX100 of Crucial SSd and everything is fine.

Yes, you must delete all partitions, this will ensure that you will be able to start a clean slate with Windows 7 Professional.

    Hello:

The only other suggestion I can offer would be to see if it works...

I discovered that apart Intel chipset USB 2.0 support Skylake chipset.

Sense that normal USB install windows will not work.

ISO Windows Microsoft not drivers USB 3.0 natives.

Therefore, add USB 3.0 drivers in Windows ISO.

Intel has on it.  They have a utility that does all the work for you.

    ndows-7-USB-3-0-Creator-Utility https://Downloadcenter.Intel.com/download/25476/Wi

Run this and the point on your media Installation USB and if all goes well, Windows 7 will be installed.

    Welcome to the forum!

Go into the BIOS (F1 at startup), set the "compatible" SATA mode (NO AHCI), then press F10 to save and exit, and you should be all set.

  • Cannot install windows XP it said hard drives are not connected & windows can not find the hard drives

I got an asus computer notebook windows vista, upgrade from vista to windows 7, now I'm not able to do a clean install of windows xp, when I try to install XP, it says that hard drives are not connected & windows cannot find not the hard drives, so once again installed windows 7, is there a way to overcome this problem Why do I get the message windows xp does not detect hard drives? I even formatted the hard drive & tried to install Xp, but still, I get the same message.

    The answers will be appreciated...

    Thank you

Because the Windows XP installation CD does not have the necessary disk controller drivers.  You will need a floppy drive to provide the drivers of controller for the installation program, or you will need to burn a CD of Windows XP with the controller drivers slipstreamed into the installation.  A CD of Windows XP with SP2 included may have the necessary drivers.

  • [SOLVED] Problem - cannot install Windows XP on C dive - only option is the D drive.

    Hello

I'm doing a clean install of windows xp pro on a hard disk with unallocated space at the front of the drive and a primary partition containing the data at the end of the training.

I want to install windows xp pro on a primary partition on the front of the disk on drive C.

    Here's my problem:

When I was installing windows xp pro, I noticed that when I created a partition in the unallocated space at the front of the car where I wanted to install windows xp pro, that I couldn't C as a drive letter for the installation drive - d only.

I ran the installation at the end and Yes, windows xp pro did install on drive D - this isn't what I want - I want it on the C drive.

Can someone tell me how I can solve this installation problem.

Should I run a partition boot CD and set up a primary partition on the front of the drive before installing windows xp pro?

    Thank you very much.

I solved this problem by following these steps:

    1. I installed a second hard drive (old sata drive).

    2. I installed windows xp on the second hard drive.

    3. I photographed the windows xp install from the second disc on the first hard drive.

    4. I deleted the second disc.

    5. I've rehearsed with my other computers.

Everything works fine - just takes a little longer than expected.
