Cannot install windows 8 on Pavilion Elite M9600T (KX745AV-ABA) with Vista 64 BIT

I can't install windows 8 on my computer. I contacted Microsoft and he has worked for three hours and said I had a problem of graphics card driver. I use a Nvidia GeForce 9800GT, which came with the computer.  When I try to upgrade to the latest driver (306.97) located on the Microsoft Update site and also on the Nvidia site, the screen says no signal and falls asleep. I worked with a rep from Nvidia for a week now and he says this isn't their driver that is causing the problem and I have to contact HP. I don't know what else to do. I deleted the working driver Nvidia (SP41066) also and tried to install windows 8 and received the same message "Windows installation was not successful" and me back to Vista 64-bit. I don't know what else to do. Can someone please, or am I just out of luck. Thank you

Gene

I changed the graphics card to a GeForce GT 630 and that solved the problem. Thanks for your help

  • Pavilion Elite m9600t: OS reinstall for HD "Advanced format" on Windows Vista

I have a HP Pavilion Elite m9600t desktop provided with Windows Vista. Recently my 640 GB Hitachi hard drive gone bad. I ordered a new one (Seagate 1 TB), installed and tried to reinstall the Vista operating system with the provided HP Vista recovery disks.

During installation, the following message appeared: "installation of Windows could not configure windows to run on a hardware on this computer." I did research and found this happens on Vista with discs advanced formatting (AF). My new record is AF.

I have read some threads on the forum of HP who say that you can always do the operating system installed, but you have to do by creating a new disc of installation with your product key, and then mix a partitioning in there. I'm confused on where to find the ISO files for Vista (64-bit SP1), as well as how to partition before installing the operating system, and which must be partitioned.

I have a drive to upgrade Vista to Windows 7, but I can't use it until Vista is installed. Is there a way I can ignore the Vista installation process and move to Windows 7? Who could help me to avoid the issue of the AF.

    Thank you!

    Hello:

You can check this link to know how to clean your drive of W7 upgrade installation.  I assume you have the W7 upgrade of the key product that will be necessary.

    http://helpdeskgeek.com/Windows-7/clean-install-Windows-7-using-an-upgrade-disc/

Another thing you can try, is to format your new drive to NTFS MBR and get rid of the advanced formatting.

You can use this disk management software and create a bootable CD, and if everything goes well after you format the disc as it was supposed to be for your PC, you can use the recovery discs if the clean install from a disk upgrade W7 does not (because of the problem of the AF).

Description of the problem: same problem on the computer desktop and laptop at the same time began: cannot install Windows updates (has no status)

No hardware changes or software recently made to the system: I followed the usual procedure to install Windows updates.

    Method of connection: wireless

    Technical expertise: intermediate level

Performed troubleshooting: because the error # 80071 A 90 type indicated by the system, I followed the instructions of Windows Help and Support, for example to run Microsoft Fix it which did not work; a more advanced method has also been used, who recommended to start Windows Update in Mode safe, then open Windows Update and install the updates and then restart normally. At this point, the problem was that any stage of Windows Update was available.

    Hello amib004,

As much as I know, only Windows Update cannot be run in safe mode. That being said, I saw where install several updates may conflict with each other. Try to disable all updates installation and install the updates failed one at a time.

  • HP Pavilion Elite m9600t memories configulation

A few years ago, I bought this HP Pavilion Elite m9600t. It came with Windows vista x 64 with 6 GB of RAM (2 GB X 3). Currently this system is running Windows 7 Ultimate x 64. Now, I would like to add a few memories more. So, I check on HP web page to my spec of the motherboard.

    Here is my motherboard:

    Manufacturer PEGATRON CORPORATION

    Model of TRUCKEE

    Intel chipset provider

    Model X 58 chipset

    Chipset revision 12

    Southbridge Intel supplier

    Southbridge model 82801IR (ICH10R)

    Southbridge revision 00

On the HP Page, it says:

Must select one of the following options:

    3 GB (3 x 1 GB) PC3-8500 DDR3

    4 GB (2 x 2 GB) DDR3 PC3-8500

    6 GB (3 x 2 GB) DDR3 PC3-8500

    8 GB (4 x 2 GB) DDR3 PC3-8500

    12 GB (6 x 2 GB) DDR3 PC3-8500

Since my system has 6 DIMM slots and up to 3 locations (2 GB X 3) is used. So, I have 3 free fill DIMM slots. Now my question is:

    1. Can I use the 8 GB DIMMS (8 GB x 3)? If I can add 24 GB more in the system.
    2. Do I have to buy exactly the same brand it of modules as on the 6 GB (2 GB x 3) I had on the system?

I'm looking for your advice. Thank you for your time.

  • Cannot install Windows 8 on retina Macbook Pro 2011

I try to install and run Windows 8 on my Macbook Pro 15 "retina end 2011 with OS 10.10.5."

I read a ton of forums, and they say all get a Windows 8 ISO from Microsoft Web site. I did it.

Then, they say get a Virgin USB key and plug it in. I did, and I put the ISO on my USB external drive.

Then he said: open Boot Camp Assistant, what I do, but then it does not match what say all forums. When I open the Boot Camp Assistant, he goes to the Introduction page. I click CONTINUE and the next page says SELECT TASKS. The only two available tasks are to "Download the latest software from Apple support" or "install Windows 7 or later.

I select both, it asks me to select my destination drive, what I do, then click "CONTINUE".

It downloads the Windows support software.

Then I get an error message that says "Installer disc cannot is, wait a few minutes for something (I forget exactly).»

So I wait and nothing happens and I'm back on the screen SELECT TASK.

    Hello

Here is another solution, you can try to see if you can get Windows 7 to install correctly.

Before you try the following, make sure that you can always read the character product activation key 25 on your label Windows COA (5 blocks of 5 alphanumeric games).

An example of a COA label can be seen here.

You can create an installation disk yourself using another PC - just download the good Disk Image ( this must be the version exact same origin supplied with your laptop ) from the link below and use an app like ImgBurn to burn the ISO correctly on a blank DVD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write that an ISO on a disc is here.  These Images are clean and a well respected source, however there are only limited versions available.

    Windows 7 sp1-iso-official-32-bit-and-64-bit

Use the disk to perform the installation, enter the activation key of Windows on the label of the COA at the request and once the installation is complete, use ' 'phone Method' described in detail in the link below to activate the operating system -this made method supported by Microsoft and is popular with people who want to just have a new installation of Windows 7 without additional software load normally comes with OEM installations.

    http://www.kodyaz.com/articles/how-to-activate-Windows-7-by-phone.aspx

All pilots additional and the software, you may need can be found here.

    Kind regards

I have a Toshiba Satellite A200 - 1N2 PSAE3E and I don't want Vista on my laptop. I downgraded the bios to V5.30 but still cannot install windows xp and there is still no optin for SATA in the bios.

    Can someone help me?

    Thank you.

    Hello

Did you install the SATA drivers first?
You need this driver to recognize the HARD drive!

You must download the Intel Matrix Storage Manager. You should find it on the page of the Toshiba driver or the Intel Web site.

You must perform the installation of an external USB FDD drive using the F6 key during the installation of Win XP.

    Hello

I see that you have a problem in the installation of new Windows USB port. It seems that your HDD was not detected, right? It's because your laptop uses a SATA HDD.

what you need to do are:

    1. download the driver AHCI SATA website of intel. (just google it)

    2. copy the files (size 700 KB for 6 files) into the new USB

    3. reboot and install your laptop with win 7 (dvd/usb)

    4. by the time win 7 installation reached the drive to install (none detected), click load drivers.

    5. now load your other USB SATA drivers.

    6. then will show all disks in your system.

    7. continue with the installation process.

    hope this helps.
