Cannot install Windows 8 on Satellite L750 - CPU compatibility problem

Why can I not install Windows 8 Preview of consumption on my Toshiba Satellite L750-22 x?
I get an error of processor compatibility.

Intel i3 M380 2.53 GHz

Hello

The Internet provides some details on this error message.
It seems that to install Win 8 CP the CPU must support PAE/NX/SSE2 features

Never execute Bit ([NX bit | http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NX_bit]) allows the marking of memory pages as non-executable.
Streaming SIMD Extensions 2 (SSE2) is an earlier standard that is supported by Intel and AMD CPU. This is why all processors that support NX would also support SSE2 too.

Usually, this allows the XD (for Intel processors) or NX (for AMD) in the BIOS should disable this error message.
But if it is not available in the BIOS, then either the CPU is not supported this feature or the BIOS does not support this option.

According to the page Intel Ark Intel Core i3 - 380 M supports the Execute Disable Bit feature. So maybe the BIOS does not support this feature
http://Ark.Intel.com/products/50178/Intel-Core-i3-380M-processor-

It seems that you have to wait for the new BIOS

  • Cannot install Windows 7 on Satellite P200D-139 - CD/DVD missing drivers

    Hi all.

Hello this laptop comes with Windows Vista.
I am trying to install Windows 7, 32-bit for my mother.
It is not the original Toshiba DVD so I bought Windows 7 for him.

First I start by using the Windows 7 DVD.
Then the language selection screen is displayed and selections.

Then the Install Now + option is chosen.
Then, the following message appears - this is verbatim:

+ "A required CD/DVD device driver is missing." If you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD or USB flash drive, please insert it now. +
+ Note: If the Windows installation media is in the CD/DVD drive you can delete safely for this step. » +

I can't go beyond that point.
Installation of Windows Vista is always on the laptop and I can't find any drivers required - driver demand is unfortunately not very precise. I wonder if it's drivers for the hard disk needs?

I have searched on the internet and can not find drivers that work.

Thanks in advance for any help :-)

    Hello

The CD/DVD driver is part of the Microsoft System and also available on the Windows 7 installation disc.
This is why there is no special driver CD/DVD available.

I read about this topic in various forums and also on Microsoft support forum and especially this issue appear if the Windows system drive is defective or damaged.

I put t know where you got this disc, but I recommend you to download an ISO of Windows from the Microsoft server, as shown here:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=73726
Then, you could create a clean installation of Windows or USB flash memory disk

The serial key you got with the Windows disk could be used for activation.

This means that you were able to start the installation process of Windows 7 and the question isn't associated with wrong settings of the BIOS.

This driver has been mentioned in the error message?
Have you tried to boot from the original disc of Microsoft Windows 7?

    Hello

Driver Toshiba UE page provides a RAID driver for this device.
I guess you need to add this RAID driver while installing Win 8 to get the HARD drive recognized.

  • Cannot install Windows 2000 on my Satellite 1800-514

I am trying to install windows on my Satellite 1800-514. but when Setup tries to copy files to the hard drive I have some errors on some files are not copied correctly (it says it can't find them, I checked well and they are on the cd).

is not always, but often the same files. jump results in an unnecessary installation (cannot start). It is the first time ever I am trying to format and reinstall windows on this laptop. I tried gentoo (linux) for a few days and it seems to work very well (except it's me mistakes sometimes when starting from cd)

    so far I have tried:
-Another cd (all seem to give me the same problem, they worked on all the others I've used them on front of the pc...)
-windows XP pro cd, gave me an error of not being able to load a file (looks like the installation of 2000?)
-have you memtest86 to check memory, he finds no errors, also I tried to install with just 1 of my 2-bands memory, that has not helped either. so I don't think that memory is the problem.
-do you have a chkdsk /R from the recovery console to check the hard disk for errors, no have been found...

I'm naïve, what to do/try then?

    Hello

Reset you HARD drive after using the Linux operating system? If please do it properly and then try to install Windows using the recovery CD.

If the error again please contact the Service partner. In my opinion there must be a missing file.

I have a Toshiba Satellite A200 - 1N2 PSAE3E and I don't want Vista on my laptop. I downgraded the bios to V5.30 but still cannot install windows xp and there is still no optin for SATA in the bios.

    Can someone help me?

    Hello

Did you install the SATA drivers first?
You need this driver to recognize the HARD drive!

You must download the Intel Matrix Storage Manager. You should find it on the page of the Toshiba driver or the Intel Web site.

You must perform the installation of an external USB FDD drive using the F6 key during the installation of Win XP.

  • Install Windows 8 on Satellite P300

As usual rushed in and installed Windows 8 on satellite P300. What error - slow, loss of functionality. How to get back to Vista was preinstalled or is there a way I can fix it to run windows 8.
Processor Intel (r) Core (TM) 2 Duo CPU [email protected] 2.4 GHz, 4.00 (2.99 usable) GB RAM 32-bit system, x 64-based processor.

Satellite P300 is plu laptop comes with Vista, but also supported for Win7. Unfortunately, it is not supported for Win8 so, in my opinion, there is no sense to install Win8 on it.

Win7 works perfectly on this machine so if possible use Win7 on it. in case you want to use original Vista, you must install recovery using recovery DVD image. This way only to s to have factory settings once again.

The question is: do you have the recovery disk?

The Recovery Manager starts well. He correctly completed the following steps:
    1 format HDD

    2. copy the files from the CD to the drive. It copies all the 3 CD.

Then he ask the driver (the 4th CD) CD. Once I have this CD, then after awhile I get messge below:

In most cases, recover the hard disk will solve your problems.

If your problem persists, you may have to contact HP support. Find details of support HO in the documentation of your PC.

After that I see above meaage the only button I can click is "Finish". Once I click on finish, then in a minute, I get a message that "recovery completed successfully.

    Hello

Here is another solution, you can try to see if you can get Windows 7 to install correctly.

Before you try the following, make sure that you can always read the character product activation key 25 on your label Windows COA (5 blocks of 5 alphanumeric games).

An example of a COA label can be seen here.

You can create an installation disk yourself using another PC - just download the good Disk Image ( this must be the version exact same origin supplied with your laptop ) from the link below and use an app like ImgBurn to burn the ISO correctly on a blank DVD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write that an ISO on a disc is here.  These Images are clean and a well respected source, however there are only limited versions available.

    Windows 7 sp1-iso-official-32-bit-and-64-bit

Use the disk to perform the installation, enter the activation key of Windows on the label of the COA at the request and once the installation is complete, use ' 'phone Method' described in detail in the link below to activate the operating system -this made method supported by Microsoft and is popular with people who want to just have a new installation of Windows 7 without additional software load normally comes with OEM installations.

    http://www.kodyaz.com/articles/how-to-activate-Windows-7-by-phone.aspx

All pilots additional and the software, you may need can be found here.

    Kind regards

Description of the problem: same problem on the computer desktop and laptop at the same time began: cannot install Windows updates (has no status)

No hardware changes or software recently made to the system: I followed the usual procedure to install Windows updates.

    Method of connection: wireless

    Technical expertise: intermediate level

Performed troubleshooting: because the error # 80071 A 90 type indicated by the system, I followed the instructions of Windows Help and Support, for example to run Microsoft Fix it which did not work; a more advanced method has also been used, who recommended to start Windows Update in Mode safe, then open Windows Update and install the updates and then restart normally. At this point, the problem was that any stage of Windows Update was available.

    Hello amib004,

As much as I know, only Windows Update cannot be run in safe mode. That being said, I saw where install several updates may conflict with each other. Try to disable all updates installation and install the updates failed one at a time.
